Baking Mafia

Sanae was woken up from the warm feeling of her cheek being gently kissed. She blinked and then yawned softly as she then fully opened her eyes and looked into the eyes of a man she had deemed her father for a long time. "Hey father, when did you return?", she asked rubbing her eyes. "Just now", he whispered and gently caressed her head. It was in the middle of the night, but he had done as she asked of him. To tell her as soon as he was home and here he was in the middle of the night. After he rubbed his nose against hers again he tucked her into her blanket once more and went his way, probably hitting the shower and then to her mother. She had just rolled over as someone else entered her room. As she looked up she could see the big stature of her father, the real one. With no words he let himself down beside her and she looked at him holding up her blanket to him. A quick smile struck his face and he scooped in closer wrapping his arms around her in a soft and caring matter. She rubbed her cheek against his chest and he pulled her close holding her tight. Like this she slept the rest of the night and woke up when he tried to sneak out while she was asleep. But well not quite so sneaky, but she had to get up anyways because she had a mission to do.
As she stepped down she could see Kohaku and her mother flirting over the kitchen counter exchanging winks and kisses just like newlyweds. I could get a little embarrassing at times and she knew why her father had fled the room he had. It was right next to theirs and he was not taking the love. "I'll be taking this mom", she said and grabbed the box obviously prepared for her and she nodded. "Sure honey." And off she went running into town. She had some very important business to take care of in the centre of town going shopping for a Akihana the village leader and her customary baking in the palace where she did delicious stuff for other people. Especially children and she was famous for it for all she knew. And today was it her job to meet another Genin and take care of the shopping. So now she was walking to the meeting spot at a water fountain in the centre of the market and sat down at the edge of it.

A lot had happened in the past few days and the lessons were immense. The young boy tackled fires, learned more about the village he was staying in and above all became a gardener for whatever reason. Today would have marked his fourth mission in his short stay in this village and it was quickly becoming a trend for him to do these while he had been without anything to do. Wearing a dark grey open shirt, white T and grey pants he strolled into the village minus his head band because he didn't need it. To his right was a male was dark orange hair and seemingly animistic shaped eyes, the two exchanging a look as they continued on. The boy and his fox companion needed no words to communicate, a bond formed from birth until now. Their mission was a weird one and Koan just so happened to tag along to get out of the palace, all his time spent reading and figuring out what this place knew. Knowledge was valuable to know what you were getting into, but things were being held from the boy. Sure he was a child..but that didn't mean you had to hold things from him. As the two finally arrived at the water fountain he spotted a familiar face and cracked a small smile as he walked over to them," So you're the other person on this mission huh? How've you been Sanae?," the smile disappeared as his hands slipped into his pockets as he idly stood there watching the waters behind him. The first memory of their meeting still sat fresh in his mind as he practically made a friend off of a simple game of tag. Ironic how a wild child could fit into a society like this, but it still wasn't for him. Wait...His mind was trailing from the original point of this and so his eyes returned to the female since he didn't actually read the briefing," So what are we doing for this mission exactly since I...kind of didn't read the mission briefing from the scroll too much," which wasn't far from the truth actually.

She waited, but not for long until a familiar face appeared or two for that matter even. First she did not notice him in the crowd but as he spoke out she turned directly towards him and smiled as she got up from where she was to walk up to him. "It is sooo nice meeting you again Kazu-kun", she chirped and hugged him with loving force. She was gently nuzzling her face against his shoulder, before letting him off the hook. Then she stood there swinging back and forth on her feet and smiled at him: "Well good for you that I read our mission papers with care", she then said before telling him that this was a mission about going shopping for stuff on a list that was needed in the palace kitchen for the famous Akihana to bake in. She was quite excited about it because it was all about sweet and tasty stuff. Maybe the two shinobi were lucky and got some nice treats maybe? Then she bowed a little to the fox that was sitting on her friends head: "Say dear master fox, would you let me pet you this time?", she grinned up at the furry companion whom she had seen before. "We have quite the stuff to get, flower, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, vanilla and so on", she then just bluntly grabbed Kazus arm and smiled at him. "I am so happy to see you, how are both of you?" , she was still smiling like sunshine as she looked around. "Where should we go first? I am for buying the flower and sugar last, because they weigh the most, how about we search for some chickens or more even their eggs?", she suggests and starts walking into the dept's of the market. There she looked around amongst the many people here there was one praising his wonderful eggs: "There", she pointed at it. While they were walking quite obviously someone was following them. Currently hiding behind the fountain two men, one slim and tall with a thin beard on the upper lip and the other small, big bodied and with a curled mustachio. Both wore the clothes of bakers and they were obviously following them while trying not to be seen quite unsuccessful.

A hug. The only thing he was not expecting from the girl as his fast actually went red with confusion and an odd sense of embarrassment. Sure he had been hugged by a few people before and yet now he had been getting flustered? The single feeling was both foreign and weird to him but the only thing he could do was simply hug back and nod. Something she would actually notice about the male was that he was a little taller than their last meeting and he seemed...a little older. One could never place their finger on it but it seemed as if the young boy had actually grown a few years at least biologically, but he'd never actually explain why. When she mentioned the mission briefing and who it was for he would only blink," And she can't leave the palace to come and get them...Typical. And i just saw her the other day when i was leaving the palace," he slightly murmured to himself as he looked over his shoulder.

Koan himself only nodded to the girl instead of speaking, resorting to staying on the males head and watching the exchange. She'd only have a few moments to pet him as they walked, Kazuhiro being too busy looking between the two of them. He'd have to do a lot of studying over this later but at the moment he would go with whatever Sanae wanted to do with this mission. The one thing he did do however was pay attention to each ingredient that they passed until they had stopped at the eggs. For a moment or two he would look over them, his eyes going from  one to another as he picked them up to examine them.

She smiled as the fox allowed her to pet him and gently stroke him over the back. Then they started walking. At the egg stand she waited and looked at Kazu who looked at the eggs. "We need about...", she looked at the list she had. "Twelve", she confirmed and nodded. "Please sort them into the basket, while I deal with the payment", she said getting out the money and looked then at the woman who was selling the eggs and showed the missions report that alleged her to get the eggs and the bill would be sent into the palace where it would be paid. She nodded in agreement and therefore they were allowed to take the twelve eggs that he had hopefully chosen by then. "Let's go further, I have seen a miller somewhere down a little further there we can get some flower and maybe some baking powder", she started to gently drag him along with her while Carrying two boxes of Eggs in her basket.
While they were walking down the two crazy bakers were following them. Whispering and guessing if the paper they had would show them what made the things Akihana baked so special to everyone. A watchful ear might overhear their words, but Kazus little friend did not seem to notice to occupied with finding the right flower it had to be the finest and purest for sure. So she had bought or at least taken it and then moved on to get some fruits whilst the two adults followed them.

Egg hunting. The young male continued to stare down a few eggs as each passing moment faded from him, his keen eyes looking for any that weren't exactly ready to be chosen. From the few he found he slowly stacked them into the basket that his fox friend would soon be holding in his tiny paws until twelve had finally be stacked into the basket neatly and without worry of breakage. Taking the basket into his own hands, he slowly walked beside Sanae trying to figure out the point of the mission to a certain extent for these items since she had the royal bakers...which reminded him. Something had been picked up on his sonar for some time though he rarely paid attention to things that didn't try and do anything to him so he didn't mind. Now he was downright curious as to who were following them and why they were following them.

Turning his head just slightly so that he could see over his shoulder but just far enough as to where people couldn't actually tell if he was looking at them or not he was looking at them, he simply looked at them and turned his head back around," Flour huh? Sure let's go and get it," he motioned up to the fox on his head to pay attention to their surroundings a little more before slowly making his way to the miller. Upon arriving there he stood outside, his eyes watching from the north to the east, and his fox companion watching from south to west. The two combined slowly caught onto the fact that they were being stalked though by whom didn't exactly matter to him. Sooner or later they would be yelled out and reprimanded or they didn't know who the young boy was. Either way he sat and waited for Sanae to come out so they could made their way back to the palace and hopefully be at ease for the rest of this mission. Unless of course the bakers had finally decided to jump out, Kazuhiro would give them a nice little surprise followed by telling them that he would without a doubt tell Akihana that two royal bakers were stalking kids for no reason. Pretty sure that would have ruined that little job for them...or at least get them yelled at a bit.

Without any clue about what was going on Sanae had taken flour and baking powder. Then she walked over straight to at stand with lots of fruit on it. "Sooo this sais we need strawberries and maybe Apples or cherries maybe", she smiled and looked at the sorted fruits in front of her. While she looked around she still held the paper with the shopping list on it in her hands and as she leaned in to take a closer look and maybe a nose full of sweet smell from the strawberries there was a rush going on.
The careful watches might have seen it coming. In a rush those two men were running towards the two Genin like f there was the devil behind them. Their aim clearly the list Sanae was so carelessly extending while she thought of what fruit to take. A heavy tuck on her hand and just some milliseconds later she had two grown men beside her, the long and skinny one tearing at the paper in her hand. This is when the young Kaguya slowly rose her head: "What on earth are you two doing there?", she blinked in confusion not really knowing what to do in this kind of situation. While she tried to tuck the paper back into her fist so they couldn't take it, they tried to at least rip something off of it or open her Fingers. A little scared she looked over at Kazu and his Fox friend or brother.

...Really? The two simply sat and watched for a moment as this happened, his eyes slowly narrowing as the boy and his fox slowly looked at each other. Had this been another moment in time he might have resorted to doing something evil, but instead he held his hands up in a single position and his shadow stretched. What seemed like tugging for a sheet of paper to nothing at all. The bakers themselves were shocked until the boy had spoken up, their bodies moving backward to look the boy directly in the face," So it seems you two are just jealous so maybe i should just tell her what you've been up to. Surely you know how this will go right? So scram or start looking for another job," one of them just looked at Kaz like he was just a nobody, until the other swiftly remembered his face. The stray Prince. Fitting for someone of his life, but he sat there and held them in his embrace until they apologized. After he simply shook his head and released them telling them to quickly get out of here or else he'd really rat them out. After the little altercation he sighed and moved forward," Can you handle the rest Sanae? I need to get back home to make sure those two don't cause trouble...just make sure you keep that paper secure until you deliver those to the palace alright? I'll see you then," and with that he gave her a hug and soon parted ways, his form along with his fox slowly disappearing into the distance.

Claiming mission rewards

Sanae looked at the two grown man in wonder. What were they thinking doing this in the middle of the day in broad daylight? What was going on here? She looked confused and then looked back at Kazu who seemed to be even less amused then the guys who were simply not getting what they were after. She stared at them again in disbelieve of what she was witnessing. What was this crazy man holding onto the paper thinking he could accomplish by taking it from him. But whatever it was, she would not let go of it, because it was her task to do and she would do it right. This definitely did not include giving the list to two total strangers, which appeared out of nowhere and kind of attacked her for it. But Kazu was taking care of it pretty quickly and she could physically see them stepping away and then he scared them off pretty easily. Slowly she looked at him and smiled, but as she opened her mouth to say something to him he said he would be going and shortly after he went away.
"But Kazu I...", he ran off and left her behind doing the rest of the shopping. Hugged him shortly and then watched him leave dropping her head a little. Letting out a deep sign she then went on to finish the task at hand. After getting everything on the list handed to her and then took it to the palace gats where she handed it in for an affirmation of a job well done. But she hand an odd feeling about everything. Something in the way Kazuhiro had acted felt kind of strange to her, but she could not pinpoint it. Maybe they would meet again for her to see what was going wrong or right. But for now it was over and she walked home.
