Amend

A lone figure exited the ruins. Wrapped in a cloak, the only significant detail was a mess of white hair that cascaded down their back. Bandages were wrapped around the right side of their head. Facial features covered by hair and bandage, the only distinquishable feature on close inspection was a milky white eye that stared straight forward. 

He heard the screams still. The crackling of fire behind him also. Both dulled and faded away as he walked further. The chains that bound him to this prison shattered. All it took was losing an eye in the end. Though it wasn't over. He still had to make up for the crimes he had commited during his life. The message had been delivered loud and clear. The man would make amends, one step at a time. Heading to the grand city was a start. He still had rent to pay after all. And someone to make peace with.

The lone figure walked on.
