A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Tue Jan 10, 2017 11:37 pm
"How long have we been in this stupid cave waiting for this person you said was going to show up Koan? I hate this...Why can't I stay in the mists with you all instead of coming down here with these...monster." There was a small male voice that rung from the caverns that he and his protector had stayed in. The mid-sized fox in human form shook its head and knelt down by the boy, ruffling his concealed hair before speaking," Because young Kazu-chan its time for you be among your people. While mother would love to keep you around, there isn't much more we can teach you. You need to be around people in order to grow and the one who is tasked to raise you from here on will be perfect for that. Its what he would have wanted after all," the fox sat down beside the young boy, pushing a few more sticks into the fire and sat in silence.

Kazuhiro. The son of a long dead wolf sat in the ninja world, breathing its first air and he already had hated it. He wanted nothing more than to stay with his fox family and live his simple life, away from others- Away from people in general. He wasn't too surprised when his foster mother told him it was finally time for him to meet the "One with golden hair" a woman who would reveal many things to him as well as teach him the right path. What they were afraid of however was him becoming like his father- or worse. The rage that the boy could one day have was enough to send him to someone the foxes themselves knew that the patience of a mountain itself. She would be able to set the boy on the right path, even after he found out the truth.

Time slowed to a crawl as the disgruntled Kazuhiro stood up and kicked a rock at the wall, his somewhat irritated voice ringing from the cave," This is boring me!," the child like voice screamed out as he laid flat on the floor, his eyes closing momentarily to figure out just what the heck he was going to do.

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Wed Jan 11, 2017 1:50 am
Kiru wandered around the stony area, somewhat lost in where he was heading. He had been instructed by Mercury to find a certain teacher but… the Blue-Haired Shinobi found himself without a map in an unfamiliar part of the world. He sighed a bit in weariness, taking a moment and leaning up against the wall to a cliff as he considered his next couple of actions. It would probably be a pretty good idea to get at least a little training in while he found his way, considering his decision to focus more on ninjutsu. He had several techniques he was interested in becoming capable in, though most were a bit advanced for a simple walk along a stony path. Something easy to fire off would do, and he had just the ninjutsu in mind, even if fully mastering it was going to take some time. From what he had gathered, the move was known as “The Spirit Gun” and centered the users chakra into a single point which fired out as a powerful beam. Though learning how to do that in succession would take time and effort, but that was no problem for Kiru since he was lost anyway.

He centered himself, legs spread and arms on either side as he visualized his chakra system flowing throughout himself. He directed some of the flow to his right index finger, a small silver glow firing around him. Flicks of energy seemed to flow towards the appendage as a small silver orb appeared in front of his finger as the attack charged. It was barely a few centimeters though and not nearly as strong as what he had researched would suggest. It took a surprising amount of concentration to even get this far, though. He curiously wondered how many people in the world had managed to master this technique considering the amount of energy it would take away from a fight. He theorized most wouldn’t find it quite worth it, though stronger fighters may see the advantages to it if they could truly harness control of their inner chakra. He tried to flow a bit more chakra towards his index finger, though at this point it was more exertion than it was perhaps worth, but there was no reason to give up just yet as the little silver orb grew a bit larger in size. With practice, he imagined he could use less chakra for the same effect.

With his concentration put on directing his chakra, it made it a bit difficult to find somewhere to aim his finger. His arm shaking a bit, he lifted his arm and took aim at a small stone sitting atop a larger rock, that’d be his target. He just needed to blast that off and prove his accuracy was good enough for this technique to be useful to him. He did his best to take aim, his finger pointing at the rock as best as he was able to manage, considering how to properly fire without injuring himself. His arm rocked a bit as he attempted to direct the energy properly, raising his thumb, imagining the trigger to a crossbow in his mind. His energy all seemed to be directed towards his finger, flowing towards it like a silver wind gathering in an orb. It still wasn’t quite the proper size, likely a matter of him directing his chakra wrong but it was still the best he could do for the moment. He let out a slow breath, squeezing his thumb down, squeezing the trigger in his mind. The blast unleashed wasn’t lacking in power, but it in no way went straight or true and missed by a pretty wide margin. Kiru, meanwhile, was left a little breathless and shaky. For such a inaccurate blast to have drained him like this was unusual.

The Wanderer sat for a moment, gathering himself and letting his energy reserves replenish themselves as he considered his next step. Giving up was simply not an option, as he could see the usefulness of such a move. The difficult matter was being able to properly direct the energy without using up too much of it. Directing it accurately was a problem he never had considered before, as most jutsu left a tiny bit of leeway in how much energy they needed. With spirit gun, he needed to be very accurate, as it affected accuracy as well as the amount of power the jutsu itself had. This entire thing was a bit of a pain, but there was no sense worrying about it. He picked himself up, dusting off his coat with a small sigh as he prepared once again to try the technique. All he could do was get a little better each time after all, and eventually he would get it right.

The air around Kiru began picking up as he began directing his energy, slowing his breathing as he gazed inward towards his own chakra system and gave his best estimate how much energy was needed to be directed towards the technique and how much he still needed to function after he fired it. He had used up way too much last time, and he hoped to be a little closer to the mark this time. His energy was much more subdued this time, small slivers of silver sparks gathered around his hand as he did his best to slowly and carefully direct energy to charge the attack. He kept his breathing calm and his movements simple, closing his eyes as he focused solely on the directing of power. This was the part he had to get right first, there was no use worrying about his aim just yet. The silver sparks around his arm once again directed to  a small orb in front of his index finger, though this time he couldn’t see it as his eyes were still closed to the outside world. He continued his breathing exercises, the flow of power much more manageable now. Opening one eye, he aimed at his target once more.

He lifted his arm much slower this time and with more caution. He needed to conserve as much energy as he could so he didn’t mess up the delicate circle of chakra he had flowing through himself. He knew he could get this eventually, he just needed to keep it slow and steady for now and eventually he’d be able to memorize his actions by muscle memory alone. The chakra around his arm didn’t become more numerous, simply becoming more dense and bright as he concentrated energy as he could. Opening his eyes, he concentrated on his target with as much precision as he could muster. It was still way too much effort, a sign he still had some ways to go before he mastered this technique, but he felt a lot more in tune with what was required for the technique. He let out a slow breath, squeezing the metaphorical trigger in his mind. The blast was much closer to its actual size, missing the rock by bare inches instead of several feet like before. Even still, Kiru felt pretty drained, though not nearly as much as he had from before.

He sighed, thinking of how much more he could perfect this technique then he already did. His hand was hurting just a bit from the exertion of so much energy being concentrated in one place. He needed to definitely edit his energy input to output so it took a lot less out of him with each successive shot. For now he figured he should learn how to get at least one off at a time with a brief resting period in between to make sure he didn’t injure his hand too much in battle. He still didn’t quite know the extent this technique could be improved, or what adding nature energy to it could possibly do. He still hadn't quite perfected even adding wind chakra to rasengan, so he’d consider that much further down the line. This jutsu would be a lot more affective if he could fire several successive blasts at once, but for now that simply wasn’t possible. He could barely charge it to its full extent much less make it fire more rounds.  If he could just hit his target he’d be happy, though. He let out a breath, knowing he still had just a little farther to go before he could continue on his way.

He knew with a bit of rest, he could probably pull off one more shot but decided that his real issue was simply chakra control. He could feel a twinge of pain in his right arm from the excessive energy build up he kept forcing into it, but perhaps that was the only way to build up the chakra lines to be able to properly do this technique. Though he wasn’t actually sure if thats how it even really worked if he was completely honest, Kira was always the medical ninja. He let out a determined breath, ready to try again once more. The central idea was to make his chakra paths be able to make a little extra energy build up in his finger without breaking any circulation through his body. That way he shouldn’t use up nearly as much energy while at the same time keeping the firepower at its normal limit, at least until he could improve the technique even further. The issue was doing it without causing any damage to himself permanently. He was sure he could manage though as he once again gazed inwardly.

The familiar sensation of charging chakra towards his index finger filled his arm and hand as he closely kept special attention to how his chakra was circulating, making sure it was an even amount being distributed to the rest of his body and only a little extra being charged into his index finger. His silver chakra once again began to spark up, more contained than before but still just a bit wild. The wind around his feet kicked up, as if a tornado was going to form around his boots as he continued to charge his chakra with as much precision as he could. This time, he seemed to be getting it much more than he had before, with the little silver orb now its proper size and glowing brightly. He let out a breath, pleased with this result. He slowly lifted his arm, ready to aim at the small target once more. He couldn’t miss this time, he knew he had the energy just right as he once again imagined the trigger in his mind. Raising his thumb he concentrated on the target, prepared for an accurate shot. Pulling his thumb down, the beam of chakra fired straight and true, hitting the small stone dead on and disintegrating it as it was easily engulfed by the beams power.

The blast wasn’t nearly as draining this time. With some more practice he was sure it could be used just fine in a fight, though it could always use some more refining. For now though, he had a path to continue on. He took one last moment to brush himself off, and continued along the path to try and find his way to this teacher he was supposed to be finding.

It wasn’t long before Kiru felt he had some semblance of where he was headed, though he was stopped by a peculiar noise. The sound of a rock hitting a wall? That wasn’t too off until he swore he heard a voice. It sounded like a child crying out in boredom but a kid all the way out here? The shinobi took a moment to detour, finding the cave he was sure he could hear the noise from. Entering the cave, he noticed a fire glowing dimly within the cave, and he was set before a curious sight and not sure what to make of those he saw. Especially the boy who seemed rather fed up and was lying on the ground. Kiru, upon not being really sure what else to do, awkwardly waved his hand. “Everything...ok?

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Wed Jan 11, 2017 8:53 pm
Koan took no surprise to his younger siblings temper tantrums especially since he had been like since a small child, but any attempts to simply quell his mini rages could only be done by the queen who was...busy to say the least. He was only tasked with this job because the other foxes were busy handling other tasks such as getting the young master's things ready for transfer and above all to meet the young lady they had dined with in happier times. Knowing what had happened to their sage and closest friend, they owed it to the deceased Kage to take care of his child and to also raise him how he would have. As the young fox watched the tantrum throwing boy he could hear the slight foot steps of a single person, no others which was odd. Who came to...it was the boy that had drawn them. In the foxes discretion, he slowly shifted back into a small fox and moved into the darkness waiting for his moment.

Meanwhile the boy continued for a second before hearing the footsteps and voice, his eyes slowly picking up from the ground as his body rose to meet the newcomer. Slate grey eyes lowered and rose as he sized up the male before speaking," Everything is fine indeed...Now why exactly are you here?," his voice sounded...mature for someone of his stature. The five year old stared at the male with a certain air of maturity that was very rare in a child. For a moment he continued to simply stare before moving over toward the fire and sitting in front of it," So what do you want? I can't imagine some...what are you exactly? Are you what they call a ninja?," his first identification of a ninja as far as his mother had taught him, carried these ...forehead protectors but he didn't see one on the male so what was he?

It posed the question of what he was exactly, a lone boy out on his own with his...wait. Where had his brother gone? The empty eyes searched the area for a moment before seeing only a shifting of tails,"That little...leaving me to fend on my own! I'm going to ," the indistinct mental voice only followed by his fist shaking in anger before clearing his throat," So...your name? What is it?," they more he stood here with this unknown stranger the more he felt...odd. He hated people. Yet when faced with one he became so..curious.

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Kiru was sure he saw something back off into the darkness but he wasn’t quite sure, and it wasn’t something he was going to immediately worried about. He didn’t sense any immediate danger around him and the Blue-Haired Shinobi had a small child to worry about anyway. Of the loads of questions Kiru had, the foremost was how this boy went from tantrum to mature in just a few seconds. It showed remarkable restraint for...someone who still threw tantrums. As for the boys question, Kiru didn’t have a very satisfying answer. Nothing that sounded very sincere anyway but he really didn’t see a point in trying to fluff up the situation. “I was just heading to a local village and I heard a noise in here, just thought i’d check it out. Curiosity I suppose.
The boy would move closer to the fire, sitting down as his eyes continued to stay upon Kiru. The older shinobi leaned against the wall of the cave, not really comfortable with moving farther in just yet. The kid continued his line of questioning, wondering what Kiru even was. The Ex-Yuki Nin supposed that was a fair question, as he had no head protector or visible insignia. As to whether or not he was a ninja, he only had one response in mind. “I guess I used to be, though i’m just an average wanderer now I suppose.

Though with his destructive abilities, “average”, may not be the best descriptor but it was the best he really had that didn’t give too much away about himself. If this kid couldn’t sense how strong Kiru was, the older boy wasn’t going to give the answer away freely. This kid was kind of nosey after all, wanting to know the Shinobi’s name as well. That wasn’t as privileged information though, as Kiru didn’t believe he was particularly well known enough for anyone to recognize it if this kid did go around talking. “My name? It’s Kiru. To be polite, i’ll ask you the same. What's your name?”

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Sun Jan 15, 2017 9:12 pm
As his ears slowly listened in on the male he wondered many things. How old was he? What exactly made him want to wander about this world on his own without anyone with him? The other questions weren't important in the slightest though they were kept within his mind for a later time in which he wanted to indulge himself in learning more about other humans. The fact that he thought this showed his detachment from anything human like. It could be said that he knew not the warmth or enjoyment of being around others of his species and this was exactly why they had sent him here. There was an air of confusion about the boy as he tilted his head just a bit, not too much as he looked at the male quizzically," Village? Your home correct or is it somewhere you are visiting? You are aware that curiosity can prove dangerous in some case..," he had stopped himself there. His statement was heading into quite the hypocritical situation.

At that moment he could feel the tapping of tails along his back, the slate grey eyes slowly turning back to see them before grabbing at them and holding them in place. If asked what he was doing, the male jerked and pulled the animal into his lap and grinned," Pulling my protective brother into the light since he wants to be secretive...He likes to watch me from the shadows, especially when its my first time dealing with another human. So you have no home? Is that why you wander aimlessly?," if Kiru had been listening to what exactly he had been saying, the boys words would strike him as odd. It might have been unheard for a five year old to have never been around another human. Normally they would have a mother or father, sometimes both watching over them as they made friends and so on but Kazuhiro had none of this.

Polite? The word rolled off of his tongue so weirdly as he mouthed it, the males name sticking to the recesses of his mind as he simply stared at the male. He had asked for his name in a friendly tone, something of which he could have picked up from the subtle traces of his voice. With that he sat the for now small fox down and began to speak," Kazuhiro of the Foxes...and this little one here is my big brother, Koan. He was supposed to be watching me until you came in and then he wanted to observe my first meeting with another human." As he finished this statement the fox cleared his throat and spoke up," I wanted to be sure that you weren't going to hurt this boy, otherwise i'd have to eliminate you, but your chakra is calm like the surface of the water so I watched simply." The fox fell back into silence as he looked up to Kazuhiro and moved to place his head and front paws onto his head.

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Fri Jan 20, 2017 12:54 am
Kiru would shake his head at the boys question, having no home himself. “No its just somewhere i’m visiting for now.
He didn’t have a lot more to consider about this odd boy, though he wished he could find a way to figure out what he was doing in a cave. The wilderness was no place for a child to be wandering about, but he didn’t want to ask such a question straight out. In all fairness, it wasn’t much of Kiru’s business what the child was doing. Nothing seemed wrong immediately so perhaps it was getting to the time for the Shinobi to be on his way.

That was, until, the boy pulled at something behind him and produced a fox. A fox the boy was seemingly related to… though Kiru was pretty sure that was impossible on multiple levels. Apparently this boy had never met a human before which was hard to believe in itself, as well as the assumption that he had been raised by a group of foxes. Kiru was still struggling to come to turns with that as the boy posed another question to the blue-haired shinobi. “You are assuming quite a bit there, kid. I do have places to be, so my wandering could hardly be considered aimless.
He avoided answering that he had no home, a particularly sore spot for the Shinobi that he didn’t feel like particularly having brought up. Kiru was going to mention to the boy, Kazuhiro apparently, that he spoke remarkably well for a boy that had never met a human when his fox...spoke. Now, Kiru had met a fox before. In his experience, they weren’t much for sentence structure. It also didn’t help that the fox implied he was more then a match for the ex-yuki nin, but Kiru held back his pride for the moment. “Nice to meet you Kazuhiro...Koan… You know the last fox I met, It didn’t talk. It also didn’t help raise children so… i’m not really sure whats going on.

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

"Where is it you are going then? Is it far? Hot or cold?," The boy had a myriad of questions for the shinobi, after all knowledge was power and if he was going to get along fine in this world he needed to know more after all. As their conversation continued onward, the fox simply sat in the boys lap, his tails sitting on both sides of his legs tapping against the cool stone floor silently in thought. So far he could see that besides barraging people with questions he was taking this situation very...carefully if that was the right word to choose. He honestly expected Kazuhiro to run off into the depths of the cavern though that wouldn't have gotten him very far now would it? The answer that Kiru had given him however caused his head to turn slightly to the left almost as if he was questioning the reasoning behind his answer," But you are simply wandering to a village and after that are you staying there? If not then you'd just be aimlessly wandering until you came to some conclusion to visit another place...right?," it seemed like the logical answer for the young child, but in truth it was anything but.

The first to laugh was Koan of course as he shook his head and rested a paw on his chest as he spoke," I am no ordinary fox. I simply...am a summon charged to watch over this young boy until he is met with his new keeper. His...Someone had tasked me and my family to watch over the child in our lands until a time in which it was appropriate to seek out someone. He hasn't really...been around any other human or shinobi until today so he's a little off," at that the fox would feel his tails being pulled in annoyance. Clearing his throat he would correct his brother in a manner that made it sound better," I am being sent to a woman who is supposed to raise me from hence forth. Before then like he said I lived with him and the other foxes who taught me all I needed to know...except for a few things, before I came here. Does that answer "what's going on" for you?," he wasn't trying to sound like an asshole (he didn't even know the meaning of it) but his tone was more informative than anything else.

A meeting with stones [Kiru] Empty Re: A meeting with stones [Kiru]

Kiru ran a hand along the back of his head, having trouble dealing with all these questions at once. "Well the average temperature...I have no idea. As for if i'll be staying, that depends on how my mission there even goes. And as for what that mission is, i'm not really at liberty to discuss it at this moment..."
He didn't want to sound rude, but there was some information he didn't need to go around sharing. His general destination and plans were certainly some of those things. He really began considering if he should be speaking to this kid at all, but his softer side told him that it would be irresponsible to leave before making sure he wasn't in any danger.

Directing his attention back to the fox, who spilled his own information at a leisurely pace, Kiru sighed. "I feel like a cave in the middle of nowhere makes for a poor meeting place for this kind of..adoption. I'm sure you could find a safer spot for it. i'm sure no one would look too strangely at a boy and a fox. Would give him some people skills too if you took him to a village I suppose.."
Kiru was a little unsure of how to approach this homeless and fox raised child. He was handling the situation quite well for the moment though, at least thats what he believed.
