Mason's first day of a new life of sadness

Mason woke up this fine Monday morning an hour before his new training would start. Mason got up put on his clothes which now felt a bit small since he had got the last year. He waved to his mom and his three little brothers and said good bye. As Mason got to the training grounds he started thinking about what he had to do today. Mason started talking to himself without noticing (It's a bad habit). " I know I need to get the clone technique down, but I think I should try to to do substitution too." "I'll do substitution."

As Mason go there he started to look for any logs to try and use for his technique. He found one after scrounging for a little bit. He placed it about 5 meters away from him. He started to weave the signs Tiger-Boar-Ox-Dog-Snake. Then he realized that he needed to be hit for it to actually work. Mason rigged a trap where a stick would swing down and hit him.

Mason tried to remember what his instructor taught him. "Alright I got this." Mason was walking towards the trap and as he triggered it he weaved the last hand sign. What happened next was pure idiocy. He got whipped straight in the mouth and groin. Mason fell to the ground and started moaning in pain. "I have to focus... I'm already behind everyone else I need to get better." 

Mason reset the trap and started to focus on what he had learn about the jutsu. The Substitution jutsu is used to avoid getting hit replacing yourself with a wooden log usually. He focused and when he thought he got it all down he started to visualize himself switching places and he weaved the last sign as he stepped onto the trap.

Luckily he managed to do it either by pure luck or actual skill. He was glad because he didn't think he could take another groin shot or he'd die. So to try and get better he repeated the test until he thought comfortable. To truly test his skill he went home to tell his mom that he decided to become a drifter so that when she slapped him he'd be perfectly fine.

But when he got home it didn't go down like that. As Mason neared his house he started to see smoke come from around where his house is. "Damn I better go see if that's my house." It was his house and seeing that it was his house he started to think about his family and started to cry because he couldn't see them anywhere. Mason started to sprint towards his house about three genin were there they told him he couldn't go any closer and as he sprinted past them one tried to restrain him and he pulled an elbow out and elbowed him in his nose breaking it in two places. The four of them started to fight and thanks to his new skill he avoided several throwing stars to the face. Mason started to hear screaming coming from his house and just dropped the fight and tried to run in.

The front door was jarred and he could hear his family screaming to their death. Realizing he was to weak to do anything snapped something in him and his eyes changed a crimson color and he developed the first tomoe sharingan. He could see slight blue coming from inside so he tried to kick down the door to get to whoever was left in his family. As he was kicking he could feel the blood trickling from his feet and in one last fit of rage he kicked a smole hole in the door.

Mason started to black out and the last thing he heard was his family's screaming coming to a stop because they were dying. Everything went black.
