Be gone, Scum of the Leaf! (D rank Mission)

Mission Specs:

Hikari was excited for her very first mission, a D rank! She was to find and apprehend a thief who has been stealing from the local merchants. That is the reason she came to the village, ready to catch the criminal and put an end to his thieving antics.


As she was walking down the streets of the village, Hikari heard a scream from the next street over. Thinking it was her mischievous thief at it again, she jumped onto the buildings to get a bird's eye view of the scene. It seemed, much to her dismay, that the woman was screaming at her cat for knocking over her display, not at a thief stealing her goods.


False alarm. Hikari thought to herself, heaving a small sigh. I thought for sure that would be my big break! How am I going to catch this guy if I can't even find him? She was snapped out of her thoughts by a suspicious looking character walking down the street, hands in his pockets. They were dressed in all black with a hood covering their faces, but it was mid summer. No one in their right minds could possibly be cold on a hot day such as the current one. That must be my guy! For now, I will just blend in with the crowd and tail him from the shadows.


Jumping down from the rooftop, she quickly did the hand signs for the Transformation Technique. Hikari transformed herself into a tall, young woman with long black hair. There were many woman who looked like that in Konoha, so if the man saw her there is no doubt that he would think she was an ordinary citizen. With that thought in mind, Hikari walked quickly to catch up to the man, keeping her pace quiet and at a far enough distance to not alert him. 


They continued like that, him walking but never doing anything else and her tailing him, until it felt like a slow game of cat and mouse, only the mouse wasn't running or frantic. Before Hikari knew it, she was following the man into a dark alley, near the outskirts of the village. A bad feeling was creeping up on Hikari like an omen. How could I have been so stupid! It was a trap from the beginning!


She was spooked by a man walking towards her, an evil glint in his eyes. As he neared her, she noted that he had no weapons in his hands. He must still think I am a citizen; a poor helpless lady. Well, I'll show him how wrong he is! Hikari dispersed her Transformation jutsu, an even more malicious look in her eyes as she started making hand signs. "Time for you to pay for all the stealing you have done! Great Fireball Jutsu!"


The man cowered as she released fire from her mouth, forming a medium sized ball that was directed right at him. He whimpered and begged for mercy, saying he would never steal again. Got'cha. Hikari thought to herself, letting the fireball hit the ground as she walked towards the man who was now quivering on his knees. "Now come with me nicely and you won't get hurt." She flashed a smile at him, though he knew that it actually meant to behave or else. You just have to act scary and people will listen to you. Like I would ever actually hurt someone from this village! Hikari escorted the thief back to the police force so they could question him.
