Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

Thu Apr 25, 2013 12:22 pm
Being a brand-new genin, Masaru had, from his point of view, neglected his training for a few days, as he had first spent a little time celebrating, before beginning to do some missions, which he had finally been able to. With the revenue from these missions, Masaru had been able to design and build his first puppet, his first “Pawn”. As a puppeteer, however, his skills were very much basic, if even that much. He had learnt to use the chakra threads quickly, but from what he had read and been told, he still had a long way to go before mastering the technique. For one, he would prefer to be able to move around without losing control of his puppet, and his range with the technique was still fairly small.

For that reason, Masaru had gone over to the training grounds with his puppet on his back, having it concealed by bandages. When he arrived at the training grounds, he had taken the puppet off his back, placed it on the ground, and removed the bandages. Having done that, he connected his chakra threads to the puppet, and began making it move around a little. A puppet could probably be made better by a master puppeteer, scratch that thought, it could, without a doubt, be made much better by a master puppeteer. Nevertheless, Masaru was proud of his design, and it would do for now. He did, however, have a feeling that he would either improve this design later, or make an entirely new design. Well, he was planning to make more puppet designs, a grand total of six, in fact, but it would be done gradually, as his mastery over puppetry increased.

But for now, he would train with his puppet, although this would be much better to train against a moving opponent, as the weapon of the puppet was its metal gauntlets, and he got little experience from simply making his puppet punch training dummies. As such, he decided to test his control over the puppets movement, by throwing kunai into the air, and then having the puppet try to catch them in the air, before they fell down on the ground.

Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Re: Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

The night had been long as the body of Hideyoshi laid still deep asleep until the hours passed and the sun had awoken hum from his slumber. With a small groan and loud stretch, he would get up and look at his body, the minor changes being his hair and eyes. Once a gentle blue, his eyes were now a soft hazel and his hair went from black to white. Seeing as the events that had occurred were real he would sigh and prepare for his day. Grabbing his usual training clothing he would put them on slowly and attack his black cloak onto the back of it to where it was a cape/ cloak. To the side of the bed was supposed to be a sword, but instead was a jet black Guantlet.

Looking at the semi massive thing he would scratch his head and stomp," what the hell is that Corbinek and where the hell is the sword," almost on cue the voice would speak back," That is the sword idiot, it is just in a sealed form you actually have to call on its power for it to transform and then you will see it...now shut up and get going," another stomp came as he huffed," ya know even if we are one being your still a fucking ass and your lucky we are close," the silence was only brief as the both of them laughed and the gauntlet was set onto his arm. With a quick flex of his fingers the Gauntlet had fixed itself to sit perfectly on his arm. After looking at the guantlet he would open the window and jump out of it to head to the training field for some training.

As he went from rooftop to rooftop he would strap his headband under his hair, although it was spiky his bangs were at the most over the head band itself. After ten minutes of jumping from top to top he would land ten meters behind a boy and his...puppet. Hideyoshi never knew their were puppet users in the leaf village, but it was a change for once. Walking a little closer he would look at the boy and smile," Hello there...so would you like to train with someone or are you okay by yourself," it had been a while since he had did someone so it should be fun.

Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Re: Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

When someone spoke to him, Masaru turned around, making his puppet fly in front of him, facing towards the other boy. Masaru did, however, realize almost instantaneously that the boy did not mean to attack him, as he would just have gotten as close to him and stabbed him, or just blasting him with some jutsu from where he were right now. After that realization, he eyed the other boy a bit, with his eyes lingering a bit on the large, black gauntlet, and he could not help but smile a little, as it reminded him of the metal gauntlets that his puppet had. Apart from its head, which looked somewhat like a human with white hair, and lower arms, which had a metal gauntlet on both arms, instead of hands, the puppet was covered by a white cloak, although the kanji for ‘Pawn’ was visible on its forehead. Masaru wore a similar white cloak, which covered the same as the one the puppet wore. His hands were held up, with chakra threads visibly connecting his fingers to the puppet.

“I must say, I appreciate your offer, as the training dummy,” he made a short gesture towards the training dummy which was roughly 10 meters behind him, 20 meters away from the other boy, “is not exactly a challenging opponent. Practicing with my puppet against it gives very little experience.” While he was talking, he lowered his hands, which resulted in the puppet hovering a bit above the earth.

If this was to become a spar, it would be the first time that Masaru had used his puppetry in a fight. Sure, he had practiced it since he had learnt it, but he had still not been able to control his puppet while moving, a fact which would surely handicap him in a fight. That, and the fact that he could only control the puppet if it was within 10 meters of him, which would be a severe handicap, should his opponent be able to use a jutsu which could outrange his puppet control zone. Sure, he could use the Substitution Technique to get near his puppet quickly and then move it on, if there was, for example, 12 meters between him and his opponent. However, there were a lot of unknown variables. He knew nothing about what kind of jutsu the other boy used, and neither did he have any ideas with regards to how quickly he could move and so on. He was, however, pretty sure that that gauntlet was to be used for melee combat, something that Masaru would prefer letting his puppet handle.

Hideyoshi stared at the puppet for a moment, looking it over as he thought to himself mentally," So this is what a puppet looks like...Hey Corbinek...what do you think of the situation at hand," although the conversation on the outside was getting to him as well. From within his head the voice would speak again," Yea...don't know much about Puppets besides they are controlled by the puppeteer using some sort of strings but other than that your guess is as good as mine," nodding he would look over to the training dummy behind the boy and smile," Well then i hope to have some fun with you...What is your name by the way, always good to know the name of your opponent," his right hand was barely out stretched as he held it high into the air and smiled," Shatter...Cursed Catalyst," as he spoke the gauntlet would turn into a Broadsword that he lowered to the ground with ease.

Although the sword itself gave off a...chilling aura it had just been that a sword for the moment. Waiting for the boy to finish answering his questions he would swing the sword behind him and hold it there with his left hand sitting near his pockets," Ready when you are and let's have some fun while we do this," he stood in the same position, but once the fight began it would be rather fun.

Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Re: Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

Being momentarily distracted by the fact that the other boys gauntlet had just turned into a sword, Masaru had to take a moment to focus again, before answering the question. “My name is Masaru Kimura. And I am ready and prepared for what will hopefully be an entertaining battle, but first I would like to hear your name.” Masaru said, as he moved his fingers a bit, which made his puppet move in between the two genin. His opponent seemed more and more like a close-range ninja, which was not all that great for Masaru. Well, if his puppet could keep up with the enemy and keep him occupied, it would work just fine for him, but he did not think that his opponent would be content with being locked in a melee with a puppet.

Unfortunately, the puppet was all that Masaru really had at the moment. He had a few kunai as well, but he did not believe that using that against his opponent would be a good idea, since a fight with someone using a sword against someone using a kunai would end up being rather one-sided. He could throw his kunai as well, naturally, although his control over his puppet would be diminished while he threw the kunai, which might allow his opponent to close in on him.

He eyed the sword, slightly nervously, while he tried to judge how sharp it was. Well, probably sharp enough to be able to cut through his puppet, which meant that he would have to make his puppet dodge, rather than block incoming attacks. He did, however, have a little advantage due to the fact that the sword would require two hands to use. Or at least Masaru hoped so. He might as well just give up if his opponents could use a broadsword like that with a single hand. Nevertheless, Masaru’s puppet would most likely have the advantage of agility in a melee, as it would not lose its footing, since it was a puppet being controlled. In addition to that, it could attack with both its left and right gauntlet, while his opponent would hopefully be forced to let himself be led by the broadsword. However, Masaru was by no means an expert with swords, so he was nowhere near sure about that.

However, he could not find the answers that he was looking for right now by thinking, they could only be gained through combat, where he would either find a way to counter whatever his opponent did or be defeated. Possibly rather soundly, as he had a feeling that he was outmatched. Well, he would more or less be outmatched by default against anyone who had been a genin for more than a few days at the moment, as he had, in fact, just been a genin for few days.

"My name is Hideyoshi Koyomi and it is a honor to meet you Masaru and i hope we have some fun in this battle," with this the match would have been initiated as he swung the blade and from it a meter wide wave of energy although this was not the blades ability, it was of his own channeled from his own abilities. The wave of energy sped towards Masaru at 25 speed, not to fast but at the same time it was faster than the boy as he sped towards him at half speed as he came towards the boys left and stuck the sword in the ground adding to his momentum and threw a kick towards his abdomen. If he had connected the hit, Masaru would be sent back 5 meters as he quickly pulled the sword out of the ground and held the broadsword in his right hand still as he jumped back balancing it on his back as he waited for his response.

Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Re: Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

Was that… a wave of chakra? Well, no matter what it was, Masaru had no desire at all to be hit by it, and he was not sure if he could outrun it. The fact that Hideyoshi himself had decided to join the fray did not exactly help either. Now, how could he use this against the other genin? Right, that would probably be the best idea. As Masaru cut his chakra thread, his puppet simply fell towards the earth, as it had nothing to control it. Instead of using the chakra threads, Masaru was now swiftly forming hand seals. After forming the last one, he switched places with his puppet, less than a second before the kick would otherwise have hit him.

Instead, the kick hit the puppet, which was sent flying. However, Masaru caught it with his chakra threads, and it spun around in the air, now going straight for Hideyoshi, both gauntlets held slightly in front of the rest of the puppet. Momentarily, the puppet would begin punching at Hideyoshi, while Masaru would be at a relatively safe distance, trying to make sure that the puppet would not get hit by any attacks, but at the same time, had had to use the puppet offensively enough to make sure that the other genin would not have time or freedom to move away from the puppet. Well, that was the thought anyways, but he was far from sure that it would work. The puppet did move especially fast, it merely had a speed of 17, but nevertheless, he hoped the sword-user would be confused enough by the substitution, the puppet did, after all, have a cape which was more or less identical to that Masaru wore, but he could not count on that, he could merely hope.

Hideyoshi was surprised at what the boy did, switching places with the puppet to reduce his own damage, but it was very smart of him. The kick could have potentially broken a rib or two. As the puppet came flying back at Hideyoshi, it's speed was slower than Hideyoshi's, but the way it through its punches was very strategic in its own. For some reason hideyoshi figured he could easily maneuver away, but the puppet could keep coming. At any rate Hideyoshi had the perfect idea for this situation as he moved from left to right, each blow being dodged with grace and technique. With the punches he would count them one by one," One...two...three...four...five," as he continued to count them and skipping back one foot at a time. Until he hat gotten to fifteen he would slide to the right after the next punch and slip into the chest of the puppet. With this the blade would be directly under the puppet as he lifted it with one arm and sent the puppet into the air. No damage would be done to it as he simply used the momentum to dash forward three meters, but the sword would be turned back into a Guantlet as he came closer and closer to Masaru, unless the puppet stopped him.

If Masaru brought the puppet back between the two he would smile as he waited for the hand to puppet hand combat to commence. So far he had only been using his own power and with the current moment he would have enough to continue to fight. For now he would play the offensive and begin to dodge and counter accordingly, but if things got to hectic for him he would instantly go on the offensive and smash through the defenses of his opponent, of course this could be different if the young puppeteer had plans of his own.

Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Re: Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

Hideyoshi was quite right in the fact that Masaru had other plans. Hideyoshi did succeed in sending the puppet up in the air. Or rather, he succeeded in sending most of the puppet up in the air. Because as he hit it, Masaru detached the arms, the legs, and the head from the puppet, although he just let the head fall to the ground. The arms, however, was what he was focusing on. Instead of before, where the puppet only attacked with its arms, the puppeteer would now have the arms trying to attack his opponent from both sides, while he would have the legs of the puppet trying to land kicks. While the kicks would be so light that they would barely be felt, they were mostly there as a distraction, as Masaru used the parts of the puppet to attack his opponent from every direction.

In doing this, Masaru would use two fingers to control each arm or leg, while he would have one finger attaching a chakra thread to the head, and another to the torso of the puppet, in order to quickly be able to reassemble it, should his opponent succeed in getting away from the puppet parts. If he did get away, Masaru would quickly reform the puppet, and try to put it between him and the sword user. However, if his opponent decided to try to fight the puppet parts, Masaru would take advantage of the great mobility of the parts. He could easily twist them in order to avoid cuts. Furthermore, Masaru did not believe that a broadsword was all that useful when being attacked from all sides, but he would not be surprised if his opponent had some kind of trick to cover that potential weakness.

Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK) Empty Re: Just a normal day for a shinobi? (P, NK)

Well the puppet was sent flying into the air as planned, but what he had not planned on was the detachment of the limbs as they came down and tried to attack him from all sides, which in hindsight was not what he had in mind. Watching as the first part came at him he would dodge in place moving his body and limbs to where he would occasionally get striked but the pain was something he could take, but if this was going to continue he was going to get upset.

Taking the time to analyze the situation he would continue to move, the sword now a guantlet as he smiled. His body would begin to glow black and blue as the symbols on his arms, legs, and back began to glow. With this a black and blue cloak would encroach his body as he smiled and leaped into the air, and with a small breath he would send wave after wave of energy down below him like a barrage of bullets each going at the speed of 25. Moving his hands behind him while still in the air he would propel himself backwards and away from Mas using the same energy.

Once he had landed onto the ground with a long slide he would be back to his normal position as he smiled at Mas," Gotta admit your good with that puppet and your tactics and strategy is good for a close range fighter such as myself, but how long can you fight with that puppet," it was a curious question but he wanted to gauge the limitations of a puppet user. As it stood now, he could fight until the day was up, but he also had to keep in mind of the way he fought. Using all of his tricks would be a bad idea, but he had enough to where he could easy turn the tides, only fate and time could tell as he waited for his answer.
