Mission: The Cat Lady

Cats. More specifically five cats. But nevertheless, they wanted him to go out and retrieve cats. Masaru had to admit, he had not expected something like this when he became a genin. How did they even intend for him to find the cats? He did, however, have to admit that he was probably one of the better choices for this mission among the genin. While he had no doubt that the cats could be more agile than him, it would not be a problem for him, as he would be able to use his Chakra Threads on him. Although he would prefer not having to use that jutsu on living beings, he might end up doing it, should the cats prove annoying enough.

He had been given pictures of the cats, and the woman who owned the cats had told him some places where they might be. The first few places that he looked proved no success, but when he ventured into one of the nearby forests, he spotted a cat. The cat, however, spotted him as well, and looked at him curiously for only a second, before it decided to flee. While Masaru was faster than the cat, it had the advantage of its agility and the terrain, as it could go in and out between the roots of trees, while Masaru would be unable to follow it except if it chose the very largest trees.

Dammit, was this an ordinary cat, or some ninja-cat that the woman had found and adopted? Although Masaru was closing in on the cat, he found himself believing more and more in the latter. He could, however, not stop laughing a bit, when he realized that the cat had led him to where the other cats were as well. So much for ninja-cats, although they immediately scattered when they saw him. However, Masaru, deciding that it was time for him to bring out the big guns, was close enough for him to use his Chakra Threads on four of the cats, with the fifth disappearing into the general direction of north. While it seemed to be on its guard for him, it had not quite understood the fact that he was able to extend his chakra threads 10 meters, which resulted in him being able to catch it with them while the cat was looking at him. After that, he walked back to the village, using his chakra threads to merely pull, not control, the cats, and finally left them at the mission center.
