Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already? Empty Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already?

Mission
Possible Mission two

UGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

‘Gosh…. I hate my life right now.’

It was late at night, about a quarter past 11 as Hikari would find herself in probably the last place she would ever want to be right now. In some run down bar on the outskirts of Haven. It was a, well, let us call it a slightly under average tavern. In a mythical world where there would be some sort of place where one could go to in order to rate establishments on a five star rating system, this one would hit somewhere between 2 and 1/4. The gathering room was at best semi clean, the drinks were really bad, (Then again, to Hikari, anything with alcohol was icky, so take that with a grain of salt.) the stools were rickety and hard. And then…..

There was the crowd.

The crowd was the sloppiest saddest group of single people trying to meet up with someone from the opposite gender that Hikari had ever thought was possible. Most of the men were drunk to the point that they could barely form proper sentences. They weren’t dressed up at all, most of which looking like they had come in wearing their work clothes. (And smelled that way.) Body’s mostly soaked in sweat, the vast majority of them had unkept hair and wild beards, they appeared to be satisfied with just mindlessly flirting with any girl that would give them the time of day. Speaking of the female population….. the women were just as sad as the men, aging in their late twenties to some of which looking like they were in their late forties, the a potent smell of cheap perfume could be smelt off of every last one of them, mascara and various other forms of makeup plastered over their faces (Making them incredibly similar to that of a doll.)  The other thing that bothered Hikari the most about the situation was how the women interacted with the men that were fliting with them. Half of them seemed incredibly desperate, talking and induldging every guy that came their way. (However, most of these women had already left with a man to go “Somewhere more private.”) The other half appeared to have no intention of actually trying to find a mate, but make fun and laugh at any male that came up to them and tried to hit on them. One of those “I am so much better than you, you should try to flirt with me even though I am just going to shoot you down and make fun of you for trying,” types.

And this made everything even worst for Hikari. Being a woman in her late teens to early twenties, having makeup on, but not looking like a semi living Barbie doll, and actually not having an overwhelming smell of fake perfume, made her a prime target for most of the men in the tavern. On top of this, The Jounin girl didn’t have the heart to just completely turn someone down, so, the girl found herself being surrounded by half a dozen men, all of which were drunk, sweaty, dirty, buying for her attention.

“So, What are you drinking there, darling? It looks like some very nice Sake.” One of the men asked.
At this comment, Hikari would turn to look down at her drink, a good excuse to break eye contact with the man.
“Um.” The Flustered Teen would say. “It’s just warm milk.”
The men would all laugh, probably thinking that the chestnut haired woman was full of it, but no. Serriously, Hikari didn’t like the taste of alcohol, and warm milk was one of her favorite drinks.

“GIRL LIKE YOU NEEDS SOME ALCHOOL IN HER VEINS! Annother man would say in a loud bellow. He would turn over to the bar keep and say “WAITER! GET ME TWO CUPS OF THE TOP SHELF DRINKS!”

Hikari would quickly turn up to look at the man, a bit of sweat starting to form on her brow. “I would really prefer you didn…….”
Hikari would start, but before she could finish another greasy man would turn to the bar tender as well. “SAME HERE! ONE FOR THE LOVELY LADY AND MYSELF! PLEASE!”

“ANNOTHER ROUND FOR ME AND THE PU’RTY LADY AS WELL!”
Groaning to herself, it didn’t take long before all of her woers had placed drink orders for herself and themselves… which, when the bartender came with the drinks, Everyone had a top of line drink, except Hikari which had six, all of which came on a single tray, and placed infront of Hikari.

“I…. Don’t know how I feel about drinking this.” The girl would explain.

“AW COMEON!!!!!” One of the men said. “GIRL LIKE YOU NEEDS THE DRINK!”

“Those there be some good drinks, ya’ll should get that into your system.”

“Comon…. Drink up….”

Looking down at the drinks that were placed before her, the Jounin didn’t know what to do. Not once in her seventeen years of life had the Jounin ever drank alcohol before, and even if she did, she wouldn’t want to become intoxicated in this sort of situation. Ignoring the fact that she was on an S rank mission right now, Hikari still didn’t want to not have complete control around these guys. However…. It would look akward if she didn’t, seeing how pretty much every other woman at this bar was drinking, and she would stand out if she didn’t. Leaning over the drinks, Hikari would smell them and to her surprise, she would realize they smelled…… very similar to that of milkshakes. It was a horrible smell, but it reminded her of the last milky desert she had a few weeks back.

With silence glaring on the six faces of the men who had just put a lot of their hard earned cash into those drinks, Hikari thought for a second about a way to get out of this situation. Perhaps she could fein going to the restroom? No, she couldn’t leave now while her target hadn’t showed up yet, and that would just mean she would be stalling the investable. Fake some sort of religious reason? Not going to be a believable story with the main religion in Haven allowing it. Fake drinking the alcoholic beverage? Maybe if it was one or two the girl could, but with six different drinks? Not happening.

Being left with not much of a choice, the teenager would bring her hand down and start to grab towards one of the glasses that were placed in front of the girl.

BAM!
Hikari and the rest of the on tavern goers would turn their gazes toward the door in order to see a large man, probably just over 2 meters in height strutting into the tavern, the man was bald with a scar over one of his eyes. He was wearing a sleeveless shirt, bustling muscles showing, and had a…. very unique smell to him. It was different than the smell sweat that was coming from the other men in the bar. Everyone in the gathering went quite, and looked away, trying not to make eye contact, whereas the men would scan over everyone in the room.

It wouldn’t take long before the man’s eyes would meet with the young girl (Who at this point was the only person that hadn’t taken her gaze at the man.) and start to make her way over to Hikari, the way he strutted over showing no fear or hesitation, as if he was trying to be intimidating. Hikari herself wasn’t that scared, but it looked like most of the men that she was sharing her presnence with were quite scared. Even in their drunken state, it appeared like everyone was fearing the musscel head that had entered the bar.

The man came up to Hikari and…. In quite a surprise, grabed her by the wrist and yanked her, stating. “You are coming with me. Missy.”

The man squeezed the woman’s arm, probably enough that it would of sprained it if Hikari hadn’t trained her body to be more durable than the average person, and yanked it with a force that any non-magical girl wouldn’t be able to resist. That being said though, Hikari did have the strength reserve to resist the man, but decided not to in order to keep up her act, after all the girl got the feeling this man was most likely her target.

“OWIE! You’re hurting my hand! Let go!” Hikari would say, trying to act as much as a child as possible as she did, frantically looking around to see if someone was going to help her, unfortunately, it looked like everyone in the bar was to scared of the giant in order to do much to stop him. “HELP! Someone! Please! HELP!”

However, Hikari’s cries would fall on deaf ears as the chestnut haired girl was forced out of the house tavern and towards the road.

It was a bright night as nothing stopped the illumination of the moon, which made this all the more akward since there were a few people in the street, but none of them were really trying to stop the man from doing anything, even though her screams had to echo throughout the village.

“LET GO OF ME! YOU BIG MEANIE!” Hikari would continue to yell.

“Shut up you fuckin’ hore!” the man would say as he continued to drag Hikari.

After a few minutes of this, Hikari and her captor eventually found herself on the outskirts of town… the girl still making it look like she was struggling against her captor. Looking around the man, the girl saw that she was being escorted to a large black horse. As they got about a meter away, the man would suddenly stop, turn to Hikari, and deliver a strong jab right to her stomach. The punch would connect with the girl’s soft midsection, dropping her. It was a powerful punch, but Hikari might have been able to shrug it off, if she wasn’t trying to act like she was a normal woman. So, she fell to the ground, holding her sides. The man would look down at the young girl, on the ground grimacing in pain, as a sadistic smile would appear on this face.

“Fucking bitch.” he would say before spiting down on the back of Hikari’s head and turning to the hourse, going into one of the pocket’s on its saddle, and pulling out a rope. The man would then come over to Hikari, and tie her up, trying to make the rope as tight as possible. It appeared like he enjoyed every time Hikari groaned in pain, like some sort of sadist.

As the man came down to tie up the girl, Hikari would try to make her move, moving her eyes in such a way to form the proper hand signs…. Or eye signs? But the proper seals in order to attempt to force her way into the man’s mind, which she was able to do with no problems (OOC: We need to make that jutsu have a resist)

As the man would lift up Hikari and place her on the back of his horse, Hikari would dive into the man’s mind and start rummaging through everything, and within no time the girl got what she was looking for.

As the girl suspected, this man was one of her targets, a bandit by the name of ‘Dallas Anderson’, who ran with a large group that often attacked the towns nearby. Apparently, he was well known for raping and killing women, to the point that it was something his friends knew him for. Anyways, apparently his group of bandits have been terrorizing these parts for years, until the shinobi force in Hoshigakure was established, which forced them to lower their amount of raids, and forced the group into near starvation. However… that all changed when one day, the group found a flier about how the Jaws Of Grima were recruiting, and that all you needed to join them was to show your worth by capturing another human being to offer up as a slave to the group. Apparently, most of the bandits had already caught on coming travelers to be their slaves, but Dallas wasn’t around at the time. He was… well…. lets say he was being ungentlmanly in a gentlman’s club. Once he got word of what his comrades were doing, he realized he needed to rush in order to find someone to catch up with them, which caused him to enter that tavern and seek out a young woman to bring back to the Jaws of Grima.

It took a little bit more diving, but Hikari found the last bit of information she needed, the base of opperations where bandits were supposed to drop off their slaves. At this point, Hikari had the information she needed…… so it was time she struck back.

Waiting for the man to get on his hourse and get about a Kilometer away from the town she had just escaped, the girl would quickly allow herself to phase out of the ropes for just a second that restrained her being and would allow herself to fall off of the hourse.

Hikari would then immedietly phase herself back into existence, and lay on the ground, faking yell of pain, trying to convince the man that she had fallen down by accident. It appeared like the man had bought it, as he would turn around and groan in annoyance, stopping the hourse about 15 meters ahead of her, before dismounting and walking over to the chestnut haired girl.

“Fucking whore, you can’t even be kidnaped properly. Luckily I need you alive, or you wouldn’t want to know what sort of fun ways I would have killed you. But honestly? I probably could just break a few of your limps… make it harder for you to run. Yeah. That sounds like an awesome idea, I think I am going to enjoy slowly breaking your nice soft legs….. Hmmmm then I might do something else to ya…. Who knows what sort of crazy things I am going to do to ya.”

Having heard Enough, Hikari would quickly make the sign of the ram before extending her arm and blasting a large blast of light toward the man, just a single burst that would connect to his knee, causing a sever burning pain in it, at the same time, because the man was looking at her, his line of sight would connect with the bright light, blinding his eyes. Once all of this was done, the man would instantly cover his eyes, screaming out in pain. “GUH! YOU FUCKING WHORE! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!”

Not waiting another second, Hikari would quickly roll to her back and preform a kick up to get back to her feet. Swiftly moving toward the man, probably faster then he could comprehend, the girl would quickly extend her arm and make contact with his forhead, activating the five symbol seal that she had rarely used, and forcing the man to black out.

Looking down at the work she had done, the girl would quickly roll the man off the side of the road and try to hide him under a small pit of sand, making sure that the man’s air passage was unblocked, but everything else under dirt, so it would be hard to see him.

The man would probably wake up in the morning, some time, but Hikari had planned for her mission to be completed tonight, so he would be out of the picture for it.

Sending Valen a message VIA her telepathy link, Hikari would inform the Deputy kage of the location of the base, before saddling up on the horse that was spared and heading toward the location mentioned before.

Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already? Empty Re: Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already?

Thu Apr 05, 2018 2:05 pm
A haze of smoke filled the air as the deputy kage sat at the bar not far from the chestnut haired jonin. A transformation covered his features as he tended to be recognizable. What with the red cloak, white hair, and tanned skin. The Prince of Darkness was not  fond of the mission he currently found himself on. At the very least it was with Hikari, Kenshin, and Kotetsu. The latter of the three being confirmed as his apprentice. Hikari would obviously be sitting in the seat a few over from him as she sipped at a saucer of warm milk. Kenshin and Kotetsu would be somewhere nearby the Tavern or inside of it transformed as well. The sword wielder was not worried about those two. They would be in positions that best utilized their skill sets should a situation arose. As it stood the Tavern was busy and many folks were riled up and merely got more so as the night continued on. Alcohol flowed freely to those who could pay. The smell of liquor, stale sex, and desperation filled the air as uncouth men seemingly having just come from work became more and more lost to their primal desires as the everflowing alcohol cut inhibitions. Women of ages into their late twenties to even their forties came and flirted to get free drinks. Some even leaving with some of the men. A few leaving with more than one. If the teenage deputy hadn’t been on the job he might’ve even blushed at such blatant intents but his job had long since hardened him to such things. At least, when he was actively working on a mission.

Ah yes, the mission. It appeared some sort of group was utilizing local bandits to increase their numbers. The joining requirement was to bring a civilian, alive, to a gathering. The four on the mission didn’t know where this gathering was. So they would have to be subtle. The obvious conclusion was to try and pass one of them off as a civilian to get the bandits to take them. Sadly, while Kenshin, Kotetsu, and Valen all did in fact have the acting skills required to do such a thing. They would need to have a transformation up the entire time to sell the illusion that they were in fact simply civilians. That increased the issues when something could happen during the mission to cause the illusion to falter. It was simply an E rank technique after all. Assuming it couldn’t easily falter would be a fools errand. Hikari however, both possessed the acting skills, a requirement for anyone of Jonin rank really, and an innocent enough appearance normally to appear as a civilian. So it was her that had to play the role. The next part of the plan involved finding a place where a girl like her would easily be tagged as ‘desirable’ no matter who would normally be around the location was around. The rest as they say, is history. They found themselves in and around a seedy bar on the edge of Haven country, and she found herself being constantly flirted with by men FAR older and attempting to pick her up.

To say that Valen was angry would simply be an understatement by far. He barely had a hold on his emotions regarding the girl as it stood. To have this situation be thrusted onto them was a twist of fate that he did not enjoy. Even worse, he had to ACT like one of these brutes in order to get to sell the illusion that he was one of them. ‘If Kenshin can see me, and knows how I feel about Hikari. He would be infinitely amused. The bastard.’ The disguised deputy would think before deciding to get this crap started. The more the girl looked like the innocent civilian, rather than the innocent jonin that she was, the sooner someone might tag her as a target. As such Valen would look over at the chestnut haired girl and stare until she looked at him. A lecherous grin would appear on his features. Conveniently in time with a disgusted shiver running up his spine. But he would swallow the shiver down regardless. “So, What are you drinking there, darling? It looks like some very nice sake” He would say as he shifted a seat closer, as if he were trying to take a position of power over the girl. It was something guys like this did when they wanted the girl to feel weaker, submissive. It disgusted Valen to know end who always did his best to handle things with finesse. She would break eye contact immediately, looking down toward her saucer before replying. "Um.” She would say, seemingly not appreciating the situation she was put into. “It’s just warm milk” She would say. The disguised Valen would laugh out loud at this, even if he knew what the drink was all along he still needed to act the part. Others in the area would laugh out loud as well, hearing the conversation and chiming in.

“GIRL LIKE YOU NEEDS SOME ALCHOOL IN HER VEINS!” Another would yell. The white haired swordsman was certain if the man was unaware he was close enough to not need to yell over the sounds of the bar. Or if the man was simply so drunk he didn’t know better. “WAITER! GET ME TWO CUPS OF THE TOP SHELF DRINKS!” On second thought it was probably the latter, ugh, savages. At this point others would come around the girl, trying their best to vy for her attention as they all screamed and yelled about buying her drinks. The poor girl would speak up, barely audible enough to be heard over the noise of the frankly desperate men around her. “I would really prefer you didn…….” she would begin to say before being interrupted by another one these fools. “SAME HERE! ONE FOR THE LOVELY LADY AND MYSELF! PLEASE!” he would yell at the bartender. A pang of jealous annoyance would strike his heart as the men attempted to crowd the girl more and more. Finally deciding enough was enough, the disguised sword wielder would make his voice known again. “ANNOTHER ROUND FOR ME AND THE PU’RTY LADY AS WELL!” he would yell, slamming his hand on the counter before moving over again to be next to the girl. The bartender would begin serving up all of the drinks, setting multiple in front of the Angel of Light. The girl would flusteringly respond “I…. Don’t know how I feel about drinking this.” she would say, trying to say no politely.

“AW COMEON!!!!!” One of the ‘savages’ as Valen was now intending to refer to them as said.. “GIRL LIKE YOU NEEDS THE DRINK!” Another yelled. Valen would have to fuel this fire to it would seem. However he was sitting right next to the damn girl. He wouldn’t be yelling in her ear. “Those there be some good drinks, ya’ll should get that into your system.” He would say as he attempted to make his own ‘effort’ of getting the girl to drink the alcohol that all who knew better knew she wouldn’t. “Comon… Drink up…” Another would try to say. The girl would look at all of the men surrounding her and attempt to find a way out of the situation. ‘Just say no..’ Valen would think to himself as she leaned over and took a whiff of the drinks. ‘Just say no..’ He would repeat again in his head as she realized she was trying to find a way out of it without disappointing the men too much. ‘You can just say no damnit..’ He would think as he reached forward to pick up a saucer of the liquor. Valen would rain fire and hell upon this place if any of these men even touched her damnit. As her hand closed around the saucer the door would slam open. Drawing all of their attention away from the sake cups.

Everyone else almost immediately drew their gaze away from the man who had come through the door. Valen himself did as well after realizing this, making sure to blend in despite the fact that the man was looking directly at Hikari. The fool strode up, trying to be intimidating before grabbing her wrist and beginning to drag her out. “You are coming with me. Missy.” he would say as he forced her out of the bar. The girl would scream out for help “HELP! Someone! Please! HELP!” her cries would fall on deaf ears. Valen knew she could handle herself at this point. Kenshin and Kotetsu would certainly stay their hands as well. This man was their target after all. They needed his information, which Hikari could easily obtain. He would drag her out “LET GO OF ME! YOU BIG MEANIE!” she would cry out as she was continually dragged toward a horse. “Shut up you fuckin’ hore!” the deputy would hear with his fine tuned hearing. That one almost made him kill the man. ‘Is this what being in love with someone does to you?..’ He would think absently as he heard the man hit the girl. He would hear her grunt in pain before falling to the ground. In all honesty he knew that had been fake. The girl could shrug off a civilians blow easily. But it still pissed him off that the man had laid hands on her. He’d hear her grunts of pain as the man tied her up roughly and proceeded to ride out of town.

‘Now we just need to wait.’ He would think as one of the other men that had bought drinks for her shrugged and began to drink the ones they’d ordered for her. “Don’t expect me to share.” He would say at Valen as he began drinking the shots one by one. “Try not to choke and die on it asshole.” He’d respond, trying to stay in character as it was possible there was a mole in the building that could give warning if they acted suspiciously. The night would go on quietly, well, compared to a few minutes ago as people soon began to stumble out of the bar in groups. In some cases due to coincidence. In others due to them deciding to cause a ruckus elsewhere. Some of them had women with them, some didn’t. None of it mattered to Valen though as he as he drank more shots of ‘tequila’. In all honesty each shot would start as tequila, he’d use some simple slight of hand to switch it with water. On another, rather interesting note. Natsumi was in an alcohol induced sleep due to being drunk as all hell. Hey, the tequila had to go somewhere right?”

It would be about a half hour before Hikari’s message via their telepathy seal came to him. She had the information they needed. Good, very good, it meant they could leave this piece of shit bar. He needed to take her somewhere nice after this mission if she’d agree. A lady shouldn’t be treated in such a manner. He’d stand up slowly, adding a bit of stumble to his step, he’d walk out of the building. The others knew what he looked like, so they knew him leaving or coming out of the building would mean they had the needed information. Stepping out into the crisp night air of the desert the disguised deputy would take in a deep breath before moving down the road and into a side ally. Keeping the stumble in his step the entire way. When he was positive no one was around, he would drop the illusion and begin to move. The others would easily be able to sense his chakra and follow him. He’d begin to dash out into the desert toward the location, acting as the guiding beacon for Kenshin and Kotetsu. They’d all end up meeting at the location before making a plan of action.

Traveling through the desert at a moderately quick pace, to make sure Kenshin and Kotetsu would be able to follow. Of course the desert could be disorientating so the teenager would leave a snake or two as he moved. They would have orders to point them in the direction he traveled in before dispelling. At any major changes he’d leave one as well, to make sure they kept on the trail in case they were held up. He didn’t run into any troubles on the way except vaguely remembering the direction he was running in. ‘It couldn’t be, could it?’ He’d think as he traveled and got closer to the point where Hikari had told him it was. He went through the information she had given him and sure enough the location of this gathering was in a cave he had cleared out long ago. Back when he was a fresh chunin. It was a deep, winding cave. It housed quite a few large caverns within it but only had one way in or out. It was an incredibly defensible position. They’d have to figure something out, especially if the kidnapped civilians were kept in the same location the previous group kept them. A mere frontal assault would quickly lead to the mass killing of the civilians as that location would more than likely be in the back of the cave system. As he thought this through he would arrive at a point a few miles down the mountain range from the cave.  The snakes he had left behind could easily lead the others here. Since Hikari decided to ride a horse of all things he would actually be the first to arrive. As it was long since proven that shinobi out run trains of all things. Outrunning a horse would be child’s play. ‘Yup, that’s the cave system from before alright. The civilians are probably in the back.’ He would think to himself as he began running through scenarios in his mind. ‘I guess Kenshin gets to piss of scores of bandits. I wonder how he’ll take me telling him not to kill?’ He’d think before a deep chuckle resonated within his mind. ‘I hope her simply murders you in cold blood and sets me free.’ The deep voice of the Gobi would say, prompting Valen to chuckle. ‘I’m sure you would enjoy that Gobi-San. Sadly, I don’t think Kenshin will react quite that poorly. We can get more information if the targets are alive after all. Which might let him take care of his rather… bloody urges later.

‘Far be it from me to actually have a hope of escape some day.’ The voice would respond in a rather annoyed tone. ‘Come now, we both know you’ll be free one day. I hope to do so in such a way to make it permanent. I simply don’t have a way to do that yet.’ He would say before turning off toward the direction of the town they had all been in. ‘It’ll be time for them to catch up soon. Hikari might just be the last one here if she really is traveling by horse. Think it might be a cousin of yours?’ He’d mentally ask the beast only to cut off the connection before the giant chakra monster sealed inside of him could start to rant angrily at him. The Prince of Darkness was extremely amused at that moment as he felt the chakra signatures of everyone arriving. With one being more distant. The crimson cloaked Akari would close his eyes a moment, keeping his ears and senses pushed to their limits as he performed the action. The cold wind would caress his cheek as the pale moon shone down on them all. “It’s such a lovely night tonight. It’d be such a shame to draw blood on one such night.” He would say absently, quickly going over his equipment, his newest sword shapeless ready at his side. “I wonder if we can capture everyone without drawing any blood. It would be an interesting challenge.” He would say to the wind.

Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already? Empty Re: Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already?

Wed Apr 11, 2018 1:17 pm
It was almost midnight. Normally Kotetsu would be asleep. Tonight however, he was very much awake, and in a tavern of all places. The tavern was noisy. Kotetsu hated loud, boisterous places like this. It was seedy, it smelled, and the people here left much to be desired. Most, if not all of them, were regular citizens of Hoshi. Almost all of them appeared to be from the lower class, with a few on the lower side of middle class. Kotetsu wasn't very class-oriented, but he had to work hard not to sneer. 'These people disgust me...' He thought to himself as he watched the crowd. They were mostly unwashed, completely taken by the drink, and making terrible passes at each other. It was the very definition of depraved debauchery. 'These are the people I said I would protect...' He thought with a grimace. 'Not what I signed up for...Wasting their lives away in this shit heap of an establishment...' Of course he couldn't say any of this out loud. Shinobi weren't really welcome in these parts of town. They were in a part of town that was more so under the control of the religious factions in Hoshigakure. For one reason or another, they took an extreme dislike to shinobi, and that's putting it mildly. Not like they would have noticed him, since Kotetsu had made himself look like a random citizen in order to blend in. In any event there was only one reason why Kotetsu was sitting in one of the booths near the bar. He was keeping an eye on Hikari, who happened to be sitting at the bar, surrounded by ugly, unwashed men, hoping to earn her favour with drinks. Valen and Kenshin were also there keeping an eye on Hikari, and watching for trouble. Trouble however, was not in the form of those degenerate, unwashed suitors. Because he was an experienced fighter, Kotetsu was easily able to pick up the conversations at the bar.

So, What are you drinking there, darling? It looks like some very nice Sake.” One of the men asked. At this comment, Hikari would turn to look down at her drink, a good excuse to break eye contact with the man. “Um. It’s just warm milk.” Was Hikari's response. 'Oh Hikari...' Kotetsu thought with a smirk. 'I wouldn't have picked up any kind of drink from this cesspool...' And he didn't. Kotetsu was not one to drink unless it was around people he trusted, and even then it was sparingly. He preferred water, which he had smuggled inside a flask so as not to risk drinking water from the tavern's store. The men would laugh at her response, and Kotetsu didn't blame them, it did sound like a rather silly thing to be drinking in a tavern, but Kotetsu didn't blame her. One of the other men decided at that time to pipe up. “GIRL LIKE YOU NEEDS SOME ALCHOOL IN HER VEINS!" Another man would say in a loud bellow. He would turn to the man behind the bar and say “WAITER! GET ME TWO CUPS OF THE TOP SHELF DRINKS!” Kotetsu couldn't help but roll his eyes. As if this place had something that would even be worth being called "Top shelf". 'The sooner we're out of here the better...' Kotetsu thought to himself. This little experience of the baser side of Hoshi's civilian population was starting to wear on his patience. 'Perhaps they would be better off without us...Then the bandits would take care of them and we wouldn't have to worry about them...' It wasn't a proud moment for Hoshi's newest Jounin, but at that particular point in time, he didn't really care. This mental conversation he'd had only took the few seconds it had taken Hikari to turn up to look at the man. Even from this distance Kotetsu could see that a bit of sweat had started to form on her brow. “I would really prefer you didn…….” Hikari would start, but before she could finish another lowlife would turn to the bartender as well. “SAME HERE! ONE FOR THE LOVELY LADY AND MYSELF! PLEASE!” “ANNOTHER ROUND FOR ME AND THE PU’RTY LADY AS WELL!” It didn’t take long before all of her to be suitors had placed drink orders for her and themselves. After all of these orders had been placed, Hikari had a line of six drinks in front of her, with one for each of the slime balls behind her. “I…. Don’t know how I feel about drinking this.” The girl would explain. “AW COMEON!!!!!” One of the men said. “GIRL LIKE YOU NEEDS THE DRINK!” “Those there be some good drinks, ya’ll should get that into your system.”  “Comon…. Drink up….

'Leave her the hell alone...' Kotetsu thought with gritted teeth. It was bad enough that they thought they deserved to stand in her presence, let alone try to take her home and have their way with her. If the mission they were on wasn't so important, Kotetsu would have long since blown his cover and broken more than a few bones. He was spared from any further thought on these lowlifes by the door slamming open and a new challenger appearing. He was a big guy, roughly 2 meters tall. He was bald, and had a scar over one of his eyes. His very appearance and demeanor screamed that he was no good. 'This must be the target...' Kotetsu thought to himself. He wanted to take him out right here and now, but Valen wanted their hideout, so he was to sit and observe only. Kotetsu had to resist the urge to stand up when the goon strutted up to Hikari and grabbed her around the wrist and dragged her out of her seat. “You are coming with me, Missy.” Naturally this was not something that would work on Hikari, who would just blast the man into atoms with one of her light-release jutsu. She was supposed to be captured though; it was part of the mission, which meant putting on an act. All the same, it bothered Kotetsu, and he vowed to take his frustrations out on the goon when he had the chance. “OWIE! You’re hurting my hand! Let go!” Hikari would say, putting on the act that she was helpless. “HELP! Someone! Please! HELP!” It did not look like help would be forthcoming. The entire tavern, with the exception of the three shinobi, were either too drunk or too scared to try and come to Hikari's aid. Hikari was then dragged out of the tavern by the thug. Kotetsu had to make an effort to stop himself from immediately following. 'We have to play the waiting game...' he growled to himself. He could still hear them for a little while thanks to being an Experienced Fighter. “LET GO OF ME! YOU BIG MEANIE!” Hikari would continue to yell. “Shut up you fuckin’ hore!" Was the thug's snapped response. After that the words became more indistinguishable until he couldn't hear anything at all.

Once the thug had left with Hikari, the tavern had slowly started getting back to normal. Well, normal for them. It would seem the original suitors weren't overly heart-broken, since they'd taken back their offered drinks for themselves. “Don’t expect me to share.” One of the men would say to another as he began drinking the shots one by one. “Try not to choke and die on it asshole.” came a disguised Valen's reply. It was infuriating to simply sit here and do nothing but wait to hear from Hikari once she had been taken to their hideout, but there was no helping it.

It was roughly 30 minutes later when Valen stood up and lurched his way out of the bar. 'Show time...' Kotetsu thought to himself. So as not to appear suspicious, the young Yuki prodigy waited a couple minutes after Valen to get up and swagger out of the bar. He wasn't worried about losing his mentor, since he could pick up his chakra signature and follow. He didn't take the same path that Valen did, on the off-chance that Valen was noticed, but he headed in the same general direction that the Deputy Kage had travelled in. Once he had ensured that he himself wasn't followed, Kotetsu dropped his own disguise and headed out at his full speed after Valen. The other shinobi was faster than Kotetsu, so he had no hope of catching up to him before they reached their destination. 'At least we're travelling at night when the desert is cold and easier to travel through...' He thought to himself. Valen had left some snakes at different points along the path to make sure that he and Kenshin did not find themselves off track. Kenshin was somewhere behind Kotetsu, he didn't know where, since he had not bothered to wait for the stitched and scarred shinobi, and couldn't feel any chakra signature behind him.

It wasn't long before he caught up to Valen, who was standing outside of a cave. Valen obviously could sense his chakra signature, so there was no point trying to sneak up on him. Kotetsu had already prepped his gear before arriving at the tavern, and nothing had happened since to change its readiness. “It’s such a lovely night tonight. It’d be such a shame to draw blood on one such night.” Valen said absently, as he went over his equipment. 'He has a new sword...' Kotetsu thought to himself as he noticed the blade at Valen's side. “I wonder if we can capture everyone without drawing any blood. It would be an interesting challenge.” Kotetsu couldn't help but chuckle. "Not bloody likely, Valen-Sensei." He would say to the younger Shinobi. "I know I won't be going out of my way to avoid hurting people. A lesson needs to be taught to those that think kidnapping our people would be a good idea..." All they were doing now was waiting for Kenshin to arrive. "Do we know anything about this area?" Kotetsu would ask.

Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already? Empty Re: Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already?

Mon May 07, 2018 1:52 am
Valen was getting worried. As the night drug on who knew what the civilians other such bandits had captured were going through. He wished the girl he’d fallen for hadn’t chosen to ride the horse to the meeting point. It was simply taking too long and Valen was anxious. Each second passed was a possible civilian casualty. “I’m going on ahead.” He would say to Kotetsu as he narrowed his eyes in his decision. “The cave system ahead is one I’ve been into before. I should be able to teleport directly into the kidnapped civilians pen and fight my way out from the back of the cave system. When Hikari-Chan arrives you two move through the front of the system and we’ll meet somewhere along the way. Keep casualties to a minimum. I want information from these guys and there’s absolutely no telling who knows what in this case.” He would say to the ice user as a breeze blew through the night air. “It’s a fairly large system with four large caverns. Each about a hundred meters long. There weren’t any hidden passages or anything when I was last in there so it should be fairly straight forward.” He would say, giving necessary information to the Yuki right before he himself disappeared into a flash of light.

He’d reappear in the back of the cave system, an eerily familiar scene would be surrounding him. Unclean, hungry, and sick civilians would surround him as he arrived in a pen that looked exactly like the one he had busted civilians out of before. He realized with some surprise that he had not destroyed the pen that last time. So these fools probably simply reused it. Oh well, he didn’t have time tonight. He’d draw his blade immediately and cute through the metal doorway, the shoddy and rushed blacksmithing work no where near sturdy enough to handle a strike from his sword. The destitute people around him looked at him with something akin to awe. “My name is Valen Akari, Deputy Kage of Hoshigakure. My team will be coming in through the front. I’ll be escorting you out personally. Please keep moving slowly and try not to fall behind. But do stay far enough back to not get hurt.” He would say as the first few bandits ran at him. He’d turn the sword onto his blunted side and slam both in the skull, knocking them out immediately. “I’m trying to keep casualties to a minimum. We don’t know who knows what in here and we want information on their operation. Please do not kill any after I’ve move on.” He would say simply as he began to move forward, his hand reaching down to draw his second katana.

Shapeless and Twilight danced around in the cavern, the reflective blades bouncing the light of the torches around in a shimmering display of swordsmanship. He hadn’t practiced with two blades before. But he refused to dishonor his masters legacy by not using the former. The latter was as much apart of him as his light release was. To use only one in a circumstance where he could afford to use both would be an insult no matter how you sliced it. The bandits in the cavern he was in would realize something was very wrong when allies of theirs would go to see what was going on and then not return. They were coming in higher numbers now but Valen was quite content with standing his ground at the entryway to the prisoners pen. The couldn’t get passed him to take a hostage this way so the prisoners were absolutely safe. His speed would increase as more and more of the bandits came but it should be noted that not a single one was killed. They were all completely knocked out by the young swordsman as they came. After a few minutes of this he would began to make his way forward, being careful not to let a single bandit by. ‘Some insurance might be necessary.’ He would think before taking a moment during a brief lull to form the seal of confrontation and summon Natsumi onto one of the stronger looking prisoners. “You lead the group, my friend their will protect you against any bandits who slip by me if any do. Don’t worry, she’s stronger than she looks.” He would say before turning back to the rushing bandits. “We have to stop him, we can’t get in to the Jaws if they escape!” One of them would yell, causing Valen to pause. ‘The Jaws of Grima then? They’re making these bandits capture civilians as proof that they can cut it in their group? That would explain the funding and the reason.’ He would think before activating his telepathy seal to Hikari and relaying the information. Before long he would clear out the next cavern as well before running into his teammates. “Let’s go” He would say simply before moving on ahead to begin to escort back to the village for the civilians. The trek back would take some time, but they would eventually return with. Eventually they would meet at the mouth of the cavern where when Kotetsu arrived Valen would turn to the older teen. “Freeze the mouth of the cave. There were no shinobi in there and it’s the only escape. I’ll send a specialized capture team once we arrive at the village.” He would say before moving on ahead. Eventually they would return and Valen would immediately order two teams out to return the bandits to the village alive. Where they would be interegated.

Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already? Empty Re: Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already?

Tue May 15, 2018 12:56 am
It was taking too long. Kotetsu wasn’t really sure what they were waiting for but he did not complain. This was part of the mission after all, and as a Jounin, he would need to show patience. It was unusually quiet, especially for a place that’s supposed to now be a hive of illegal activity. ‘It certainly doesn’t seem like there is a lot going on here…’ Kotetsu thought to himself as he waited for further instructions. Hikari was somewhere around here, still with that original ruffian no doubt. Kenshin however had yet to show himself, which was surprising but it did not overly concern the young Yuki shinobi. ‘Kenshin is more than capable of looking after himself…’ He thought to himself as he looked around. ‘Did he already move into the caves?..’

It would seem that Valen was growing restless too. Except since he was the leader for this mission, he could make the call to move forward with incomplete information. “I’m going on ahead.” Valen would say to Kotetsu, the deputy Kage’s eyes narrowing as he said this. “The cave system ahead is one I’ve been into before. I should be able to teleport directly into the kidnapped civilians’ pen and fight my way out from the back of the cave system. When Hikari-Chan arrives you two move through the front of the system and we’ll meet somewhere along the way. Keep casualties to a minimum. I want information from these guys and there’s absolutely no telling who knows what in this case.” Kotetsu had to avoid rolling his eyes at the last set of instructions ‘That’s fairly obvious…’ The young Yuki thought to himself. ‘Everyone knows you can’t really acquire information from dead men. It’s not like we were planning on coming here to kill them all…’ It would also seem that Valen hadn’t finished speaking, so Kotetsu kept quiet and let him finish. “It’s a fairly large system with four large caverns. Each about a hundred meters long. There weren’t any hidden passages or anything when I was last in there so it should be fairly straight forward.” Kotetsu would nod to the deputy Kage after Valen had finished speaking. “Understood” was his reply as Valen vanished in a flash of light.

‘Okay…’ Kotetsu thought to himself as he made a quick set of hand seals. ‘Time to get to work…’ Since he didn’t want to kill anyone, he used is Ice weapons jutsu to make a pair of blunt tonfa, which he would use to bludgeon the unsuspecting bandits. Technically he wanted to draw the enemy to him, so that Valen would have less to deal with. That would be the way to ensure less risk to the civilians that were sure to be trapped in the cave system. ‘No one gets passed me…’ He thought to himself as he calmly walked into the mouth of the entrance cave and came face to face with a trio of burly bandits. They were all dressed similarly, rough tunics and pants, dirty and rough facial hair. They all held some manner of club or blade. And not one of them seemed prepared for an attack of any kind. They were slow to react to Kotetsu walking into the cave’s entrance. One of them looked at him in surprise before nudging the two that he was talking to. By that time, Kotetsu had closed the distance and swept the legs of one of the unsuspecting bandits, knocking him to the ground. The bandit had the breath knocked out of him, making it hard for him to fight back. The one bandit that had initially noticed Kotetsu cried out in alarm before rushing the young Hoshi Jounin. The other bandit spun to face Kotetsu and swung his club at him. The black-haired Yuki swept the club aside with contemptuous ease before swinging the tonfa down on the bandit’s collarbone. He was going to break the man’s jaw originally, but it would be hard for him to talk with his mouth not working. Kotetsu sighed, this was not going to be as entertaining as he had hoped. Luckily for Kotetsu, the shout and subsequent screaming brought more bandits to him. A few of them ran further into the tunnels, likely to go grab hostages, while the majority went to mob Kotetsu, seeing that he was alone. ‘That’s more like it…’ Kotetsu thought as he struck the temple of the first bandit he had attacked, knocking him out cold. ‘This should be interesting…’

Normally being surrounded is not what you would call a very wise tactical decision. This however did not apply to Kotetsu. Thanks to his Mist Sonar, he didn’t need to see an opponent to know they were there. The only drawback was that its range was limited to 5 meters in any direction. Not much of a drawback when you’re engaging a mod of bandits in close combat and your skilled at hand to hand combat. The bandits didn’t know that though. They received a bad shock when they tried attacking him from a blind spot, only to be met with swirling tonfa. Broken bones and screams of agony were the only results of the attacks that were thrown Kotetsu’s way. These buffoons were hardly worth the effort it took to swing his weapons. He’d much rather just dispatch them and be done with it, but Valen said they were needed alive. ‘The screams are getting annoying…’ Kotetsu thought to himself as he blocked another hasty attack, breaking the bandit’s club with one tonfa and smashing the other into the man’s face, breaking his nose. ‘So much for not spilling blood…’ Kotetsu thought with a chuckle as he continued to teach these upstart bandits a lesson. One does not try to harm those of Hoshigakure without receiving some form of judgement. Their judgement was in the form of the Winter Knight of Hoshi. And they were lucky that he was told not to kill, or there would be corpses littering the ground behind him instead of wounded bandits. The main entrance was soon emptied of bandits ready to fight, replaced by wounded “tough guys” unable to fight anymore. No fatalities either, which fell within the parameters of the mission. ‘Time to find more bandits to deal with…’ He thought to himself as he moved on from the main entrance to one of the side caves.

The side passage was darker than the main one. Normally the darkness could affect sight, making ambush easier. This was not the case for Kotetsu. His unique sensory abilities make the dark no more of a hindrance than standing in a well-lit corridor. He could have both of his eyes gouged out and it wouldn’t affect his ability to detect movement around him. And a good thing too, for there was a group of four bandits lying in wait for him as he entered the cave. They tried to wait until he had walked past them, it didn’t help them in the slightest. Kotetsu had already started moving to intercept their swinging weapons, deflecting them easily with his pair of tonfa. One bandit went down with a blow to the side of the head. The next victim received a pair of blows to his chest and abdomen, followed up with a shot to the side of his left knee, breaking the joint. The other two hesitated now, seeing half their number on the ground, incapacitated. ‘Pathetic…’ Kotetsu thought to himself as he brought the fight to them. The men were virtually incapable of preventing the attacks from happening, even with Kotetsu holding back as much as he was.  Moments later, the remaining bandits were on the ground in a heap, and the young Yuki Jounin was moving on to his next challenge.

The rest of the cave he was following was relatively empty. ‘I guess the rest of them were in some of the other caves…’ He thought to himself as he looked around. The odd torch on the walls gave off some light, but not enough to make out every detail. It’s possible they had doused some of them on purpose, not that Kotetsu really cared. He was not interested in seeing what the place looked like, he was only interested in finding bandits and making sure they were not a threat to the civilian population that had been kidnapped and held here. He had almost reached the end of the cave without finding another soul until a single opponent leapt out at him with a sword. Normally this wouldn’t bother Kotetsu, but he was moving faster than the others. Not enough for the Winter Knight to be worried, but moving fast enough that he could be a credible challenge had Kotetsu not been paying attention. Kotetsu would match the bandit in speed in order to see how well they fought, using both tonfa to block the incoming slashes from the bandit’s blade. The swordsman swung his blade horizontally to try and take off Kotetsu’s head, to which the young ducked under and swung one of his tonfa up into the blade, breaking it in half. That didn’t deter his opponent, who immediately charged Kotetsu, intending to run him through with the rest of the sword. Not that would have worked. Kotetsu side-stepped the attack and jammed his tonfa into the man’s solar plexus, doubling him over. He was finished off with a blow to the back of the head. “Decent.” He said, to no one in particular before making his way back to the mouth of the cave.

Almost immediately upon returning, he encountered Valen who was leading the civilians out of the caves so that they could get back to their families. Kotetsu nodded to Valen, who turned to the Ice user and said “Freeze the mouth of the cave. There were no shinobi in there and it’s the only escape. I’ll send a specialized capture team once we arrive at the village.” before moving on ahead with the villagers. Kotetsu would then build up his chakra and freeze the water in the air just inside the cave’s entrance. He would leave very small holes near the roof of the cave so that there were channels for air to enter from, but not large enough to use as escape points. Once his task was completed he would make his way back to the village to debrief and rest.

Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already? Empty Re: Wait... Didn't Echo Kill These Guys Already?

*GALOP* *GALOP* *GALOP*

Stars would twinkle in the night as the chestnut haired woman would gallop through the night on break neck speeds across the long sandy desert that was Haven Country. Durring this time, one may wonder why the Space Time user would travel this way rather than.... oh.... I don't know..... using a telleport to more quickly head toward her location. Well, sure, that would be the smart thing to do, however,  Hoshigakrue's Fuinjutsu Misstress of Light was unable to do that. Why you may ask? Well, that is simple, If she had done that, Mr. Long Nose would be left out in the cold desert with no where to go! In the few seconds that the Jounin had been tied on the midnight black colored steed, she had grown very attatched to it. There was no way Hiakri would leave the hourse out in the cold to be either die from a lack of food and water, or be killed by a wild Vicous Cyote or something. There was no way that Hikari could do something so horuendus!

As such, the only logical option at that point would be to ride it to the mission location. (Obviously this is more logical than to telleport it somewhere safe, go back to the town and make sure it had a home and then telleport.)  After some hours of travel, the Jounin found herself at the randevous point..... with.... no one there.

'Really? Hikari would ask, 'I know I am a bit late, but only by a few hours, its not like I am over two months late!'

Anyways, Hikari would dismount the hourse and tie it to a tree nearby, the meet up point being a small patch of greenery in otherwise bareen wasteland. "Stay here little one. I have something I need to do, you will be safe here."

At this point, Hikari would phase out of existance,  becomeing the Garduian Angel of Hoshigakure, where whe was neither in this world, nor in Lux Athrena. As she made he way quitely to the location she had given Hoshigakure's Knight in Shining Armour, the girl tried to figure out what was going on. Valen had problbly not wanted to wait for Hikari any longer, scared about the hostages captured by the Jaws of Grima. The Deputy Kage did have deep love for the village hidden amoung the stars, so that only made sense. Still, she had wished that he had left her some kind of notice.

Anyways, as Namikaze came closer to the bad guy's base, she would activate her Golden Eye's, giving her the ability to see better in the darkness that was the night. As she arrived at the cave, she noticed that the gates had been frozen over...... Kotetsu? Sure, Hikari knew the Jounin had grown increadably in the few months since Hikari had met him, (Wasn't he around Miyamoto's age when she had met him?) but still, this was impressive. Such a massive freazing of Ice, even for a Jounin, it was impressive.

As the Angel of Light walked through the ice, she would cast her gaze around the base. It had appeared like there were bodies all over the place, what had her team done here? Sure, it didn't look like anyone was dead, but prehaps giving an offer to surrender be more civilized?

Preforming the 6 hand signs needed, the Jounin would summon a portal in the air, making it smaller so that it would fit in cave, and connecting the portal to annother portal  in Hoshigakure, specficly a locked jail cell in the Village dungons.

The Gravity would draw all of the out cold bandits to the cell, and just like that, the mission was over, easy enough. With some spare time, Hikari would say over the telepathy seal she had with Valen, "Just cleaned up your guys' mess, the Jaw's of Grima can be found in the mass holding cell 21 in the village dungeons."

With that, Hikari would telleport back to her hourse, and then ride it back to the village.
