Pretty Hot and Tempting

Kozai had taken a quick break from his activities, and was sitting on the crest of a bare hill in the middle of a grassland. On one side, there was a large body of forest. Ever since his training some years ago in that very forest, Kozai had been a little bit cautious about the place. However, at this moment, he was merely waiting for the day to end. He looked out over the landscape, his heart being somewhat at peace, even though his mind was at work, solving problems and planning ahead. He had a lot of work to do in the days ahead, and he needed to get some rest in order to continue it.
His chakra had been suppressed, he didn't want any of the konoha ninja to find him. Otherwise, however, anyone passing by through the area might be able to see him, Hyakkasou by his side and his white lab coat (clean, by the way) in good condition. He kept his eye out for anyone who might approach, but otherwise he was at ease. The sky above was blue with late morning light, with barely a cloud in the sky. It was a good day.

Kozata was sauntering along, confident that he was going to have a great day, without meeting anyone else who would shaft him over. The mansion was unusually quiet today, and Kozata was happy for that. Perhaps it was because he had solved his problems, having created the Ausloschen seal. Obliteration... heat absorption and redirection. Now, he was that much stronger. As he proceeded, he saw a figure on a hill to his front and right about 15 meters away. He looked familiar... perhaps he could tell him where he was. This was the part where he was supposed to cautiously approach his target, but Kozata was a little too stupid for that. Rather, he rushed toward the figure, waving his arms.
"Hey! Stranger!" However, as he got closer, he noticed who it was. He stopped about 5 meters away, his face white with fear as he recognized the man's face and attire... what were the chances that they would meet again... in another wild, unknown place? Was this man following him? No, this time, Kozata had come across him all by himself. Well then.... this was going to be bad. He took a step back, knowing it might be over.

As soon as the boy entered the 20 meter radius of Coriolis Revelation, Kozai knew where he was, and more importantly, who he was. Well... if it wasn't that boy again. Hopefully, he had learned a lesson from last time, and wasn't one of those "fight for justice" people. Also, "stranger"? Was the boy really that dimwitted and shortsighted? Oh well, some people were born with differing capabilities, Kozai knew. He slowly stood as he saw the boy back off, and sighed.
"Ah, it's you. Don't worry, I won't hurt you unless I have to. What is it you desire?"
This would be spoken in a somewhat soft, slightly tired tone. It reflected Kozai's inner state and mindset. At the same time, however, he would slowly release his chakra, and pulse it slightly, wondering how far the boy had come. Had he gained a sense for chakra yet? Kozai knew that it had taken a bit for him to adjust to things after his mind's eye had closed forever. However, that wasn't the time to reminisce. He kept an eye out for the boy, and anything he might try. At the same time, his Coriolis fed him environmental information too.
It told him about every blade of grass, every worm beneath the earth. He could see that the boy had some fresh scars on his face, and some on his neck too. What happened there? Those hadn't been there last time... so the kid really had gotten some experience. Well, knowing that, Kozai decided to test him. They would have a little fight, here, on the borders. He placed his right thumb over his index finger without thinking, pressing down slightly without popping his knuckle. A little bit of an unconcious gesture. He would continue to survey the Shima boy.

Wait, what...? The man didn't immediately give him an imperious stare then take his head off? Kozata would try not to register this further surprise on his face, but his retarded self couldn't help but gape just a little bit at the fact that he was still alive. This meant that... the man didn't actually want to kill him? Or was there something else involved? Kozata subconciously touched the scars on his neck. They were jagged and toothy, unlike the straight claw-mark like ones on his face. He had no idea how he had acquired those, and perhaps he didn't want to know.
It was about time that he spoke up, though, as his silence might be taken as rude by this one.
"Uhh.... er....", he began, stumbling over himself in speech, "I just wanted to ask... w-where am I? I'm not .... familiar with this area." With that, he would hope for the best, as he would cease his backwards motion and touch a kunai from his weapons pouch, draining some of the heat from it just in case. He might need it, one never new. He remembered from before how the man had deflected his fire stream without effort...

It gave Kozai some pause to hear that the boy was asking for directions. What did he think Kozai was, a map? Some kind of standing directory? Regardless, Kozai was not particularly grumpy that day, nor was he inclined to disbelieve the boy. After all, he seemed innocent and idiotic enough.
"You're in the Land of Fire, not far away from the village of Konohagakure. Said village lies that way", he said, pointing towards the forest, beyond which lay the village, "while Tengaure lies that way." After making the appropriate gestures, he turned to the boy, a curious look on his face.
"When we last met, I asked you to deliver a message to your leader. Did you do so?" With this, he would flare his chakra slightly, attempting to scare the boy. If anything, he was about to test Kozata... not just about the tasks he had done, but also the boy's capabilities, assessing his worth. How much had the boy grown? What kind of new techniques had he learned? Most importantly, how much had he matured as a fighter? These questions would be answered soon enough as frost began to spread outward from where Kozai was currently standing.

Well, first off, Kozata had no clue that using the seal in such a situation on a low-heat object cost so much of his chakra. He made a note not to do this in the future. However, now he was stuck with a problem. He had not forgotten about the man's task, but... he had not been able to complete it. He decided, against the mansion's better judgment, to spurt out the truth rather than lie to Kozai.
"Well... when I got back to Shima, it had been renamed as Kirigakure no Sato, the village hidden in mist... and its leadership had been, um, replaced." He gulped slightly as he said this. His beloved leader Naoki, who had sent him on his first mission, was now probably dead.
His eyes widened slightly in fear as he realized what he had just said. Was the man going to be angry now? He had no doubt that the man in the lab coat would not hesitate to hurt or maim him if he had to, much like those men at the Tengakure gate. The one that had prevented him from leaving, for example. The world, it seemed, was filled with such people.

Kozai smiled inwardly. Not only did the boy seem to be honest and true (not necessarily a good sign, but it was in this case), this piece of news also updated Kozai's current events knowledge. It was hard to keep abreast on everything going on. At this point, however, he put that piece of information aside for the time being. Knowing that the village had new leadership was something he needed to look up on; perhaps he should send Mitsui to check things out. That might not be a bad idea, come to think of it... Mitsui was a valuable resource, to be used at Kozai's discretion. He wasn't the most precise of tools, but he was better than nothing... or an arrogant ass, like Arcanis had been. Wrath... he had been quite a problem. He remembered in Ame when Arcanis had been a bit of a puzzle for Kozai. His motives conflicted with each other, and even old Near made more sense. He thought about the Seed in his lab coat, and Near's DNA that it contained. What could he do with it? Agito had mentioned a thunder release to him, and Kozai felt that it was ironic that he now possessed the same tornado technique that Near used to damage him. He laughed inwardly as he remembered how they had limped off together. They had been picked up soon after that, but they hadn't really experienced much. Kozai still hadn't figured out how they had been spontaneously healed... but that didn't matter anymore.
At this point, he would frown outwardly at the boy. The aura of cold would intensify, and his hand grasped the katana by his side. Kozai would give off the impression that the boy had done something awfully wrong... his eyes would seem to glow (yeah, the special effect of his display of power), with an evil light. Of course, none of this was a reflection of Kozai's mind or soul, merely the power gap between the two. This would demonstrate to the boy just how outclassed he was, in order to plant fear there, or magnify it if fear was not present already.
He would draw Hyakkasou with his right hand, and level it slightly.
"You... failed to complete the task that you were given, boy? Is this how Kirigakure ninja behave, then? Truly, you are a failure." With that said, Kozai would suddenly thrust Hyakkasou toward the boy's head at an easy speed of 60, attempting to aim to slice the boy's right temple and potentially his ear. The thrust would, as mentioned, be sudden and executed directly after he had finished speaking. His arm would shoot out, the sharp edge of the katana pointed toward the boy's face. His expression would not change, but the "evil light" would fade from his eyes as the sword was thrust forward, as he now was more concentrated on the target in front of him. How quickly could the boy react and move? He would know.

His pubescent body kicked into action as he heard the man's words, triggering the fight or flight response. He felt really bad now... he might die here! However, he was able to noticed the man's sword thrust easily, even though it was fast as heck. Slipping to the outside of the man's body, he would release a Dark Pulse toward the man, attempting to start draining his chakra. The dark pulse would be at maximum power and speed (speed being of 35, power of 50) at the man. This would drain the man's chakra, resulting, maybe... in his inevitable defeat?
It might not be enough to stop him, but it would certainly be enough to give him pause. At the same time, he would aim a punch with his right arm into the man's abdomen. All of these actions would be taken at maximum speed and strength, his maximum speed being a mere 40. However, it would be of note that as of his initial actions, his doujutsu would already be activated, increasing his chakra capacity. This would definitely help in the moments to come... moments, Kozata considered, that might actually be his last. Termination, surely, awaited from this man.

So, it looked like the boy could dodge a moderately fast attack.... for a genin. Kozai briefly considered going full speed against this guy, but he reminded himself to hold back for this child. He remembered the others he had seen.... Li Dian, CoRin, Tatakai Sento... even, perhaps, Aku. He needed to get that girl out of his mind... she was a crazy part of his remote past. He was still not quite sure whether or not, in the end, she had still maintained her hate for him for what he had done in his earlier life. After all, he had been a bit... wild. So, the boy had slipped to the outside. As soon as he did, however, Kozai began to move his foot at about 110 speed, stepping lightly on the boy's foot....
And then he saw it, a bit too late to change his momentum. The dark energy heading toward him.... it didn't seem to fast or powerful, but the way he was moving, and how close he was to the boy, it was inevitable that he would be hit. Kozai braced for impact, but the dark blast didn't do significant physical damage. Instead... it appeared to burn away at his chakra reserves. This was slightly distressing, but not a big deal. It only drained about as much as Suidanha did... how was it that this boy was able to use such abilities, though? And... was that a doujutsu? Kozai had to be careful now... or perhaps, step things up a bit. He pushed off slightly, doing a circle step, putting him at abou 2.5 meters away from the boy.
Sheathing Hyakkasou at maximum speed, he would get a good look at the boy. Interesting. Chakra draining abilities... in that case, he would have to keep his distance.
He carefully observed the boy and his movements. It seemed that the child was still weak... but he was developing. In that case, it was time to prepare something a little bit... better. He created a kunai of water in his hand, then used it as a water source, performing a tiger handseal which turned the kunai into mist, which combined with atmospheric water to expand as the hidden mist jutsu over a large range of about 25 meters. The mist would obscure vision, including chakra vision, which was a good move, assuming that the doujutsu that the boy possessed did indeed give him chakra based vision.
"I've fought doujutsu users before. However", he continued, "I've never seen a person who could drain chakra like that. Let's see how you can cope with this mist." With that, he would palm a normal kunai and pad around at a speed of 50 to the boy's left side, the kunai being held in his right hand.
Coriolis Revelation told him exactly where the child was, and not just that either. Because of the water and air around everything within a 20 meter radius, he could see.... everything in detail.
With that, he would lunge in at the boy at 50 speed, stabbing the kunai toward the boy's shoulder at 70 speed. This would be somewhat faster than the attack he had made before.
The aim would be to merely stab the boy to wound, this was not even a lethal strike. It would not only be a test of the boy's awareness, but also of his speed once again. If he could hear even remotely well, he would hear Kozai's footsteps through the grass. How would he react? Kozai was now focused on the boy's reaction even more than before.

Whoa! This guy was fast! Kozata noted that his jutsu had hit, but he also noted how fast the man moved his feet. Amazing... was this guy like a professional dancer in his free time? It occurred to him that perhaps this was another whole part of taijutsu that he just didn't know about yet... some kind of body motion technique or style or some such thing. At that point, however, Kozata was more worried about his own movements. Quickly at 40 speed, he straightened his body movements, and prepared himself as the man spoke. The man's voice was deep... kind of enchanting.
Kozata braced himself for what was to come... it was true that he specialized in chakra draining and burning, but it wasn't as if he was very strong yet. He focused on the man in front of him... the lab coat had deflected his fire stream last time, so he didn't want to use that jutsu. However, he didn't know what to do... until he saw the mist expel outwards. His eyes told him that it was a suiton mist, one that even his chakra vision couldn't penetrate. Crap, this was bad. The man could sneak up on him at any point now. That was, of course, unless he relied on his hearing. He could hear the man moving rapidly over the grass. To... his right.... Kozata grasped a kunai, then turned himself to meet the oncoming Kozai. He reckoned that the man was stronger than he was, so as the kunai came whistling out of the mist, he slipped to the outside of the man's body, then hopped back. This would put him at about 1.5 meters away from Kozai.
