Creepy Forest or Nah? [Death] Empty Creepy Forest or Nah? [Death]

Thu Apr 24, 2014 6:55 pm
It was one of those cold, gloomy nights, the same type that would give even bravest of all ninja in the shinobi world a slight chill down the ends of the spine. The wind could be heard howling at every dreary looking tree it passed by, making the trees look almost demonic swaying back and forth as if they were trying to grab right from where you were standing. Thunder could be heard roaring from the distance, lightning flashing across the sky, lighting up the forest for brief instances casting shadows of everything caught within its radius. It had been like this for several hours, yet there was no rain to be seen, not even in the distance where the sparks in the sky were from. Anyone who was out this night would most likely shudder and pretend it was only a normal storm that was building up, that nothing wrong would happen. Telling a child a little white lie was one thing, but lying to oneself about imminent danger would have it’s consequences and only you could be blamed for the harm to come. If the weather was so terrible out, why might one ask, was there a little boy seemingly harmless, gleefully skipping directly into the forest? No sane person would be able to manage explaining such a fascination.

That boy aforementioned was Luka, an honorable Genin of the Cloud, one of the most playful, passionate-about-training, people that the great ninja nations might ever see, or so he supposed himself as so. At first glance one would make the assumption that he was sweet and innocent, ordinary-looking even, but after seeing the boy’s immense motivation to go above and beyond, to persevere, they could and would see his bright intentions for the future, not only for his own, but for the greater good of the village he dearly loved. He once vowed that nothing, not even the greatest of all evils, would penetrate this heart, so long as he drag his body, even with a single limb, into the heat of battle. If it were possible, as he believed so, he would even become his greatest fear, one reincarnated from death, to protect anything, absolutely anything, he loved with no regrets. In fact, he lived a life with no regrets, he believed that the motto for life was to, “Keep moving forward,” and to never look back on something badly. To him, everything happened for a reason and everything played a role in what was to come which was true, in a sense…

“Hoooo! Hoooo! Hoooo!” The sound of an owl could be heard, echoes bouncing off of the many boulders and large rocks that were scattered around making it almost impossible to pinpoint the exact location of the source. Luka, literally interested by everything, smiled at the echoing noise. Wanting to also try it Luka yelled out, “Pew!” in a really high pitched voice and listened as it dispersed into every direction, “Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew…” getting quieter and quieter after every ‘bounce’. As he continued to walk deeper and deeper into the of forest, this trees started to become more and more scarce, almost as if some maniac had gone into the center of the forest and ran around cutting down any random tree he had seen, then lost all motivation once realizing he was in a forest.

The wind began to blow stronger and stronger causing the trees around Luka to gently sway back and forth at first, then allowing the winds momentum to push them even further the trees became pendulums, now swinging back and forth. Watching the great body of trees was like an amazing dance act taking play, at least through Luka's eyes. Little did the boy know that an even greater tree, in size, was moving on its own accord behind him. It was an older tree with damaged roots. With little resistance holding it down and with one last push from the wind the tree snapped at its base falling forward directly onto Luka, crushing the boy almost instantaneously. He hadn't even had time to make a squeal. No one knew he was so far out in the wilderness so there would be no possible way that he could have been found.
