界王和 - Estate Sale

Mission:

”Oh thank you so much, dearie, I really don’t know what I would do if I had to take it upon myself to sell my things.” said the old woman Koharu as Kai walked dutifully beside her. They walked by numerous rooms of varying states of packing, some with their boxes all with their tapes and their labels, and some rooms simply stacked the unfolded boxes beside the door frame. Thankfully, Kai was not here to pack, just to shell some of these items for coin.

”Think nothing of it, Ms. Koharu, I’m more than happy to help.” Kai said, making sure his teeth were as visible as possible through his crooked smile as he spoke. He was allowed to exercise his deceit today and he had been practicing his liar's face and fools voice ever since he looked at the assignment. For 14 grueling minutes Kai had crafted a persona that the public would have no choice but to give fealty to, a lord of their economy who takes their hard won money for the fanciful and temporary relief and rush that came with going shopping. Perhaps this was a little too fantastical in Kai’s mind, but when you spend most of your time just reading books and listening to patients talking about their problems you start to day dream a little.

They came upon a set of rather imposing double doors which opened inward to reveal the table in the middle of the room and atop it sat four imposing bongs. Each was a different color and had a different animal shape to it, there was one that resembled a golden lion, another resembling a red dragon, the third was a green tortoise and the final one was that of a blue fish. Each looked like they were carved and cleaned right out of the earth itself, that the animals painted on them were captured in the moment and slapped onto the bowls.

”Now these, dearie, are very special to me. You see, each was commissioned by a dear friend of mine in the past, and I’m afraid where I’ll be moving I just won’t have the space for these treasures.” she explained. ”You see, one hit off each of these bongs will grant you a different vision relating to its creator. It’s only the once and as you can imagine I have used these rather thoroughly. The heart of it, dearie, is picking just the one to keep with me.”

”Well Ms. Koharu, I don’t think we’re going to get any closer to figuring this out with our eyes alone. I’m afraid I’m going to have to look through each of these visions to help determine the worthy bong to stay.”

Koharu gave a devilish little grin and a wicked cackle. ”Of course you will, dearie, just be sure that you’re able to carry these things once we’re done.” as she walked over to the table and began pulling pillows out from under it while Kai began to make some tea.
