From Sea to Moon (Village Entry Topic)
Thu Aug 15, 2024 6:31 pm
Ryoushi didn’t know what to expect when she had first boarded onto that boat. A small wooden ship with a few other passengers of little renown that she could decipher. 3 others were on that ship besides the captain of the nameless vessel. Two lovestruck women on one side of the boat, with a young man on the other fast asleep. Which made her one of the few that appeared to be armed, at least, that’s what she had thought when she had arrived on the boat. Her sword, sheathed inside of its azure scabbard sat idly at her side for almost the entirety of the boat ride, that was however until they had reached the coastline near the country of the moon, the soft glow of the famous Moonflowers were clear in the middle of the cloudless night. The sea was shrouded in darkness, making it hard for the ninja to see if there was anything within the waters. The captain had assured them that this would be a safe travel, but she had her doubts that the captain was speaking the whole truth. The slight rocking of the ship tipped her off that something was nearby. The boy that was sitting across from her noticed it too, causing both of them to rise from their seats, the two lovers had passed out with each other in their arms.
They were a liability in a situation like this. . . Yet she knew that protecting them was going to be the primary concern. After all, besides the captain, they were defenseless against most creatures of the sea. Yet Ryoushi knew that something had to be done about the shifting of the waves. The young man turned his attention towards the ocean before she heard him take a deep breath, just then, his eyes widened into shock.
“It’s approaching from behind!” He shouted, she immediately turned, and what appeared to be a massive dolphin-like creature, its body breaking open the surface of the water, with its top half aiming to completely slam down on the back of the boat. Ryoushi drew her sword, aiming to cleave the creature into two, right before she heard the crackle of thunder, as a bolt of lightning erupted from one of the previously sleeping couple. Her hand was barely hanging up when she had fired at the Dolphin, yet just as she seemed to be wide awake, she went soundlessly back asleep. Ryoushi blinked once, then twice, before immediately settling down, a small sigh escaped her lips just before she would lay her head back, and fall asleep.
Arriving on the mainland, Ryoushi nodded towards the captain, knowing that she probably would see him again in the coming future should this new endeavor prove to be fruitless. The couple immediately began walking in a completely different direction than where Ryoushi was heading, with the young man nodding his head, turning to the ocean, and taking a seat. Ryoushi felt the situation had been quite strange, her index finger and thumb clutching the bridge of her nose in annoyance before traversing through the jungles of Moon, weaving through the thick branches and trees that were like large towers. Ryoushi eventually found herself coming across what she had been seeking for nearly a few hours of wandering.
The entrance to Tsukigakure, and with that, she’d stand there, a large brimmed straw hat adorned her head, with her blue cloak covering her robes and sword. As she awaited to see if she would be granted safe passage into Tsukigakure.

Hasumi was on guard duty that day, something that was beginning to become a regular occurrence. While she didn't possess any techniques that allowed her to excel in the position she was at the very least capable of doing the basic processing of visitors while the real guards surveyed the area for threats.
The young kunoichi had her hair tied in a tight bun and out of her face, a new style for her. Hasumi was used to wearing her black hair in a simple ponytail, but was attempting to look more formal now that she was taking on more responsibilities within the village. She also wore her black kimono as well, though as she stood in front of the gates she wondered if she should try and get some more ninja equipment so as to not appear as just a simple greeter. All she had to signify her as a ninja of the village was the headband that rested on her collar, the strap of the headband loosely wrapped around her neck. Hasumi stood below the center of the gate, stopping those who approached and asking them for paperwork so that they could be properly identified.
Standing a meter from the girl, slightly behind and to the right, was a more eye catching individual. Hana's large black horns were what caught the eye of most travelers as they approached, many asking if they were real if they managed to dare say anything to the young Oni woman. Her hair also stood out, long and wavy white locks that cascaded all the way down her back. The tall woman stood at nearly 6 feet tall and was dressed in all black, wearing tight pants and a loose top.
Hasumi and Hana were a few hours into their shift when a figure approached dressed in a blue cloak and adorned with a straw hat. Hasu did her best to put on a welcoming smile as she waited for the visitor to come close. The nervous young kunoichi began speaking once the stranger got within 5 meters of her.
"Welcome to Tsukigakure traveler! If you'd like to enter the village, all I need is your name and a chance to examine any identification that you have. If you'd also be willing to tell me your business I could try and point you in the direction of what you're looking for.. but it's not necessary for you to inform me if you don't want to."
Hana kept an eye on the stranger as they approached, hoping that they were interesting. She smiled from behind the young kunoichi she was guarding, though hers seemed to have a hint of a smirk to it as she attempted to size up the traveler.

Ryoushi immediately took note of the two guards, purple piercing eyes staring back, the horned one was certainly someone of the Ushitora clan, known for their strength and capabilities in Taijutsu and Weaponry-based techniques—a clan she’d have to note down in her notebook. Slowly beginning to stroll towards the two, once she was within five meters of Hasumi and Hana, she was greeted with a pleasant smile and asked for her name and identification. A worrying idea, especially given she didn’t know if this land was the same as others, open to a clan that was known to be betrayers and turncoats potentially. She wished to make a home within this village, yet, for now, she’d have to get in. Giving a curt towards the two guards, she’d continue waking to them. Her hand delved into the depths of her white cloak, retrieving a scroll that continued all of her basic information needed to travel. Primarily her date of birth, and if she had been associated with any villages.
“Ryoushi Hoshimura, and in here is where you’ll find my documentation.” Her voice came out as rather a horse, raspy in how the timbre of her voice left her lips. She needed something to drink, stupidly having not restocked her canteen, one of the few other things that she kept on her. She turned her head towards the taller Oni, keeping her purple eyes on Hana like a sword stuck in the flesh. Handing Hatsumi the scroll when he reached 0.5 meters away from the woman, she wondered if everyone would stare at her like back on the mainland.
At least they didn’t seem that confrontational.

Hana's smile broadened as the stranger reached into their cloak, ready to step forward and pull Hasu behind her should the lone figure produce a blade. Alas, the naïve young warrior was disappointed. A scroll was produced, a name was given. While Hana knew that it was foolish to wish for a fight she couldn't help but crave a chance to showcase her abilities. As Hasu and the purple eyed traveler drew closer to exchange the scroll Hana slouched slightly, her broad grin dimming back into a smirk as her silver eyes stared back at Ryoushi.
Hasumi completely failed to notice the change in demeanor her bodyguard went through as she continued to smile at the approaching stranger. As they drew close Hasu noticed that the newcomer had purple eyes, a trait she had never seen before. The young kunoichi looked at them curiously as she took the scroll, admiring the rare pigment. "It's nice to meet you Ryoushi, I hope that Moon Country has treated you well so far!"
Hasu's smile brightened for a moment before she then turned her focus to the scroll, opening it up and skimming through the document to make sure she could record basic information about the visitor. "I'm not seeing anything that would be of any issue. You are free to travel through the village, there's an inn down the main road that can provide for most of your basic needs. If you're looking for work, a lot of people post up requests on a noticeboard in front of the Kage Tower. I hope that you enjoy your stay within Tsukigakure!"
The line sounded somewhat rehearsed but it was genuine. Hasumi had served as a gate guard a few times now and was doing her best to try and overcome her social anxiety. She still struggled with providing information immediately upon inquiry but had taken to giving out the answers to frequently asked ones when letting people in.
Hasumi rolled the scroll back up and reached out to return it to Ryoushi. The young kunoichi lingered a moment in case the cloaked traveler had any questions, but if they seemed eager to enter the village then Hasu got out of their way and allowed them to pass through the gate. She made sure to step to the right, so as to not force Ryuoshi to have to pass between Hasumi and Hana.
Once Ryoushi had left Hasu went to one of the gatehouses and recorded the newcomer's basic information down as well as a short description of their appearance.

Ryoushi’s purple eyes stared back at Silver for a moment, noting how the Gate guard continued to smirk. She could see it, the thirst for battle, the want and desire to claim victory against someone who you don’t know because they might just pose a threat to you and your people. She had seen it time and time again in her travels, yet she’d focus back onto Hasumi, who had introduced herself to the Missing Ninja. Ryoushi remained quiet, content with not speaking, but only giving a small shrug at the mention of Moon Country treating her well so far. The almost rehearsed line about an inn that people could stay at made Ryoushi nod, speaking again with the same raspy voice.
“Thank you.”
With that, she’d retrieve her scroll from Hasumi, giving another curt nod before walking past the two gate guards, noting that Hana was someone that she should watch out for while she was around. She knew that staying here would be for the best, as it would allow her safety within these walls until further notice.
She just hoped her past wouldn’t try and catch up with her.
