Traveling back to the first village she had visited after leaving Kumogakure had been, in a sense, suspenseful. It was going to be a momentous event. She had it all scripted in her head how her entrance and return to Tanbogakure was going to play out. First, she would pay a visit to her old friend in his minimalistic hut. They would play catch up again, and this time, she was not going to run away. Second, the woman would find herself a job. Particularly one that had to do with the medical field, but at this point she was not picky. It was something that she could work towards after gaining the trust of the village. Third, Saya was finally going to settle down as an ordinary citizen of a farming village.

A part of her still rankled at living a mundane life, almost aggressively if she were being honest. But if there was one thing the ex-kunoichi was good at, it was suppressing her emotions and lying to herself.

So, as yukata clad woman came up the dirt path toward the gates of Tanbogakure, she spotted a pair of men - one clad in black and another hovering in the air.

Saya squinted in the distance, hand moving to block out the sun. One of them seemed to be saying something, but from how far away she was, she couldn't quite hear the man's demands. Or so she assumed they were demands. There was no way to know unless she continued to move closer. Saya sighed and shook her head.

Today was not the day. The glorious picture she had in her mind vanished. Turning on her heel, Saya noped out.

Reizo heard some incoherent rambling from the village gates. He hadn't been in Tanbo for all that long, but he could tell that the two men were quite dangerous foes and not people with whom he wanted to get entangled with. Deciding that his loyalties to Tanbo itself never amounted to much, Reizo felt it would be wise to simply keep his head down and mind his own business. Clad in his newly tailored and repaired Akatsuki robe, Reizo would make a swift exit from the Rice Village drawing as little attention to his movements as possible.
