- Ryuko is a young man of average height and lean but muscular build with shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes with white pupils. He tends to style his hair upwards into a ponytail when in a fight, so that his field of vision would be clearer while also showing his Kumogakure headband proudly. Normally he wears a dark jacket, with a button on his collar, shaped like a cross-like insignia, light shirt, dark pants, a belt and dark shoes. When lazing about and not on "duty" he prefers wearing just his regular white shirt and pants with sandals instead of his black shoes/boots.

- Ryuko is confident in himself as a shinobi of the village even despite being a genin to the point that he appears arrogant and cocky all the time, notably for his habit of refusing to use honorific speech regardless of who he is talking to. Ryuko also has a habit of repeatedly saying "Hmph" in response to people, coming across as stubborn or dismissive despite his otherwise friendly disposition. Due to his attitude and casual demeanor, Ryuko tends to make bad impressions on people. But like others in his family and even a few of his "friends", he isn't bothered by the shenanigans of other people and Ryuko is usually nonchalant even while struggling in fights, using this an opportunity to learn his opponent then take the upper hand. Despite his often standoffish behavior, he is particularly clam and even easy going around those that are deemed friends or even allies in his eyes.
