A burgoning Clan Empty A burgoning Clan

Thu Jan 12, 2023 1:31 am
As Rin strode through the streets of this odd, strange bizare town she couldn't help but wonder as to what oddities had resulted in this town's population developing so, had they simply been swept away here as she and Emi had, had they traveled here intentionally as some of the other outsiders seemed to have done, did they think this part of a different village, one that they simply stepped out of their back door and into every few days.  There were so many questions, and so many more worries associated with those question; but despite that she found herself enjoying her time here, even with the oddities it was nice to be able to wander through a town without the need to hide her face or disguise her person in some way. The bounties on her head were hard to track sometimes, and it was even harder to keep track of them when the occasional bounty hunter decided to track her across three or four countries, determined to extract what amounted to a pittance from her, at least compared to the expense they must have gone to to follow her.

Striding through the town streets she headed towards the outskirts, towards the place her and Emi had first entered this town, and towards the surprisingly luxurious log house that the two of them had been staying in; she didn't plan to head home just yet, rather she wanted to examine the land around this village, the storm that they had found themselves in upon their arrival had faded back enough that the town itself was no longer covered in howling winds and thirty feet deep snowfalls, but the winds themselves still remained in the distance, swirling around the town in a way that almost seemed like a barrier, the town sitting in the very eye of the storm. That was odd, incredibly odd, and something that she decided needed her attention, or at least her interest. Perhaps this could be the key that told her how herself and her companion could get home... well to her home, and get Rin out of this land. For all its joy and wonder she had no desire to stay trapped here forever, not least of all because it left her unable to enact her vengeance upon the accursed Lord of stitches.

Walking through the various streets and weaving through alleyways she took in the world around her; not the physical world of course, but rather that of the spiritual world around her. She took a deep breath in time with her footsteps, exhaling just as she lifted her feet, practicing a form of active meditation to put her more in tune with the natural world around her. She reached out with her spiritual senses, practicing her ability to extend herself outside of her body, to feel the flow of the chakra in the natural world around her and understand it. It took her time, time and practice, she had long ago mastered the art of pulling chakra from the natural world itself... at least when calmly meditating in a stable position. She had walked the burgoning path of a sage long before encountering the Stitched horror that corrupted even the fates of those around it, although she had not known she had been walking the path at that time. Now however she found it difficult to maintain her connection to the natural world.

Pulling in Nature chakra within her was worse even than using her own chakra, the Corrupted filth within her seeming to spread to the purity of the worlds own natural chakra as soon as she pulled it into her body, which left her in an awkward state of limbo, she had the skills of a burgoning sage, and yet she lacked the ability to grow that skill, she could sense the chakra of the world around her but was completely incapable of drawing that chakra into herself without causing serious harm to her meridan system. Still that did come with the benefit of allowing her to focus her development into sensing the chakra of the world around her far more strongly than others with such skills. In fact part of the reason Rin was traveling to the village outskirts is that over the past few days within the city she had slowly begun to notice something strange. The Chakra of the natural world within the village seemed to flow oddly, at least compared to places she had been before, it seemed to flow in a slow, almost imperceptible spiral around the village, following the direction the winds of the distant blizard as it spiraled outwards. That in and of itself was interesting, and that was the main reason why she had now decided to venture out of the city and onto the tundra, it's plain white emptiness otherwise unimportant.

The trip she took across the ice was, in the end, rather uneventful, now that the blizzard was gone it was far easier to see the few predator's that roamed the tundra, so avoiding them was mostly child's play; of course there had been a few creatures who's evolution had given them a natural camouflage that, within the wastes of snow, made them almost invisible to the naked eye... the key word being almost. With her finely honed spiritual senses Rin continued to reach out, feeling the spirits of those creatures around her well in advance of when they might actually pose a threat to her... not that any of them would truly be a threat in a fight, but rather the act of fighting them herself would have been the threat, the strain it might put on her to use her chakra allowing the King in black's curse to continue it's slow encroachment throughout her spirit. Eventually she managed to make her way through the wastes far enough that her spiritual senses were able to extend out into the storm, and what she found was surprising. Within the storm itself, rather unsurprisingly as even within such a strange land as this one a storm having the ability to pull natural chakra from the world around it was far outside the realm of common sense, no what was surprising was the host of other creatures she sensed scattered at the boarder of the storm; each one a small blip of power on her mental map as chakra flowed into them from the world, small traces leaking into them from the direction of the town whilst torrents seemed to flow towards them from somewhere within the storm.

Looking closer Rin found that the storm itself seemed to be artificial in nature, being made up of hundreds of thousands of tiny strings of wind and water chakra, flowing around the village like one massive technique, but rather than be scared of this massive source of power the tiny specks of power flocked towards it, slowly feeding on the edge of the power, eating away at it and slowly pushing back the storm, millimeter by millimeter. Something about that struck a chord with Rin, but she didn't let that thought distract her, instead she focused on the task at hand, intent on reaching the edge of the storm and finding out what these strange creatures were.

Pushing onwards she continued to make her way to the edge of the storm, the endless desert of white snow stretching out plain and uninviting around her, until she came within a few dozen meters of the storm's edge. Looking around she couldn't see any sign of the strange creatures, even as her spiritual senses screamed at her that these beings were right on top of her. Closing her eyes and steadying her breathing she let herself slip deeper into her meditation, pulling on the chakra of the natural world around her as the meditation of a sage was want to do, but she stifled that instinct, pulling the chakra and keeping it to wrap around her rather than allowing it to pool inside her body. As she did so she felt after a short moment, the power that she was pulling in and collecting around her like a cloak, being pulled upon, like a subtle force taking small pieces of the cloak and pulling at those threads, unwinding the fabric of her control as it pulled on the power. Picking a single string of power she watched carefully, waiting like a fisherman waits for their catch. It took some time, she could feel the power picking at other threads, eating away at them, pulling them somewhere nearby, though doing so with such speed and subtlety that she found she was too late when she shifted her attention towards the stolen threads.

No instead of chasing this... thing from thread of power to thread of power she sat and waited, watching intently as her chose thread sat floating within her domain, waited as the creature, whatever it was, ate away at the pieces of power around her, waited until the creature took the bait. She felt as the creature took hold of her chosen thread and watched intently as it pulled the thread, the power pulling down slightly, being quickly sucked into a point a foot below where she stood. 'Now that is curious' she thought to herself, kneeling down to examine the ground. The easy solution here would be to simply stick her hand in the snow and move it out of the way, searching for whatever creature this was, but to do that would open her up to an attack from the creature, a snake, spider or other venomous creature could prove deadly in such a situation. The next easiest solution would have been to simply burn away the ice and snow, melting the obstacle between herself and this creature; of course much like the first option this plan had just as many issues, firstly she wanted this creature alive, to be able to examine it and identify what it was that allowed it to feast on the chakra of not just the natural world, but also that of what seemed to be a technique of incredible power, and secondly this creature, that fed on chakra and power, would likely be able to defend itself, eating away at any techniques thrown in it's direction.

Which left Rin with the last option, she tried to lure it out, taking another strand of power she let out a resigned sigh, waiting and collecting power around her as the creature fed, waiting and watching until the creature tried to steal her thread of power again. Rather than let it she began to pull the power inside of her, gritting her teeth as the corruption within her seemed to awaken. excited to feast once again. Ignoring the pain she slowly pulled, careful not to pull fast enough for the creature to sense danger, instead raising the thread slowly even as she fed more power into it, slowly inching the creature upwards until, finally, there was a scratching sound as an animal poked it's head out of the snow at her feet. A small, young snake with black horns sat there, slowly slithering out of the hole it had dug as it continued slowly eating away at her chakra.

Kneeling down she spoke even as she began to study the creature. "Well hello there little one, what brings you all the way out here?" she said in a calm tone of voice even as she fed it another sliver of power, examining the creature in detail as she did so. The creature was gorgeous, not a mark or blemish on it's body and it seemed to have developed the ability to absorb the chakra of this world through it's stay here. This would require much much more research, research that she would likely need to gather help with, but if she could work out how to replicate this ability in other creatures then the potential applications were endless. With a small chirp the snake slithered up her leg, wrapping around her as it followed the chakra it had been feeding upon and Rin couldn't help but smile, it seemed she had made a friend; one that it seemed Vis took a liking towards as once she got back to the village the two made fast friends.

So, unfortunately, this claim is not viable. Staff understands that while there isn't a specification within it's wording, Hidden Clans still count as a clan when it comes to a clanless member founding them. Meaning, that this would have to be done before said character obtains their 2nd spec.

Rin found herself annoyed at rules being hidden in weird places and decided to take it out on the strange man who had just appeared in front of her, throwing her new snake friend at him
