Sabotage in the Mist

Months had passed ever since the disappearance of Xyxer Gyojin, the First Mizukage of New Kirigakure. For better or worse, Kyogetsu couldn't help but feel the two of them shared a connection, one that runs deeper than simply being part of the same village. There wasn't much known about the man, besides his tendency for violence and lust for war and bloodshed. Truly a leader fit for the once Bloody Mist. However, times changed and so did Island Country, having to move on from the days where they ruled the shinobi world and had to adapt just like anyone else.

Even now that Xyxer was no longer amongst them there were still some nobles left in Island Country who despite all of that continued to believe in his return, showing their support by partaking in supply operations within Kirigakure. News of said operations had reached the higher ups, all consisting of people who were backing the current leadership and trying to weaken the nobles' influence. Aware of Kyogetsu's sensory abilities they tasked the Hozuki to take part in a mission to sabotage the same supplies as a means to deal with the remaining Leviathan supporters. "This'll be interesting" the young shinobi thought out loud, preparing for the evening.

Waiting for nightfall, the time most suited for a task like this, Kyogetsu allowed darkness to come over Kirigakure before heading out. The Hozuki was dressed in nothing but black, hoping his outfit would further conceal him and keep him out of sight. Before preparing himself for the mission, he made sure to let his brother know in case he wanted to join in and put his own sensory skills to the test. Assuming Kura did in fact show up, Kyogetsu would go over the details of the mission once more, explaining what was expected from them and the best way to execute their task.

Once the brothers were ready to set out, Kyogetsu would take out a map with the location marked with a red cross. "It'll only take us about fifteen minutes to get there" the Hozuki voiced as he started picking up pace. Sensing only Kura's presence as they made their way through the abandoned roads he continued keeping an eye on their surroundings.

His brother would be correct in his presumption of Kura’s interest in testing his own sensory abilities. The two shared the trait, something closely tied within their family. It would be uncommon for them not to find common interest there. The Yuki would find the note, reading it over thoroughly. He couldn’t care less about the reign, or history of Xyxer, finding him to be a crude and monstrous leader of the village. He didn’t agree with his methods, or his thought process, it was barbaric, unruly to be frank. Yet, there were people that did not see it in the same light, instead they saw a hero, a saint and Kura was ever the more baffled by this. 

Meeting up with his brother at the destination point he would greet him with… “Of all the ridiculous public figures to support, why this one?” His question was rhetorical, but it was evident in his disappointment in these “supporters”. Like his brother, Kura donned all black to blend in with the night air as they moved about to complete the mission. Only sensing him and Kyogetsu around, he would take a knee as he listened to his brother break down the mission to him. 

“Fifteen minutes, alright. And what should our method of sabotage be? Leave it to me, any supporters of that monster are just as bad and needs to be silenced.” Aware that his thought process was no less cruel than that of the infamous Xyxer. Kura believed it to be a necessary evil, not a prideful moment to have, but it was still a worthy one in his eyes. Yet he would leave the lead of this mission and the decision to his older brother. That, and the mission details didn’t give free reign to execute the supporters, which would likely result in consequences that he wasn’t comfortable with backlashing onto his brother. 

His turquoise eyes would focus on the path that leads them to the mark on the map. There wasn’t much time to waste, so the Genin would begin to make his way along the path, sticking to the higher ground. It would be more advantageous to hold a higher position oppose your a lower one. This way they would both be able to see the operation and all that it contain and choose the best course of pursuit.

The two brothers were discussing their plan of action, Kyogetsu already having something in mind. "I'll sabotage the road, make sure they won't be able to deliver the supplies". Since the main goal of the operation was to weaken the nobles' influence in Kirigakure, the young Hozuki figured it would just do the trick. That being said, he made his way to the road the supplies were supposed to come through, laying out a couple of traps while Kura kept an eye out in case someone else approached. If everything went exactly as planned the supplies would soon be destroyed and unable to reach anyone who still remained loyal to Xyxer.

Assuming the mission was a success Kyogetsu and Kura would return home, making sure no evidence was left behind.
