Morio vs Arashi [Observation Thread]

Arena 4, the current location of Ashborn, the young heir of the Yamaguchi clan. Finding his way to the Dragonpit, the Haven shinobi sat down as he took a seat in the stands which surrounded the soon to be battlefield. Hoping to enjoy the show, for as far as that would be possible considering his struggle with any form of emotion, he'd sit and wait for both champions to arrive. In the meanwhile, he'd use his time to observe the environment the two contestants were going to fight in soon, noticing how awfully close it resembled a desert. Several boulders, the largest being 8-meter radius by 10 meters tall and the smallest being 3-meter radius by 3 meters tall, it would prove to be interesting to see how both of them were going to deal and make use of their surroundings.

As more people started to gather and find a spot to take a seat it was only a matter of time before the show would begin. The battle in Arena 3 would be one between Morio Hoshimura and Arashi Tekiatsu, the latter someone Ashborn was quite familiar with. He didn't know much about the first contestant but the Jounin he'd met before during something that was supposed to be a team meeting. However, from those who showed up that day only two of them remained. Regardless of any connection he had with or didn't have with either of the two, the young Yamaguchi figured it would prove to be an interesting fight nonetheless. 

The first to enter the arena would be a young swordsman, a weapon attached to his shoulder while another rested on his hip. Wearing an armored jacket the shinobi seemed to be looking for someone in the crowd, perhaps a family member he hoped to see between the rest of the spectators. For some of these champions the Tournament would be more than a chance to attain a cloak, for some it would also be a way to prove themselves to their family. Which of the two, if any, applied to the first fighter would be up for guessing. Now all that remained was to wait for the opponent to show.

News of the Tournament have traveled through the village like a wildfire. It was an exciting gift to those willing to see who was worthy of joining the white cloak Nova corp. But there was only one name on the list of combatants that caught the ear of the Heiress of Shade, the Witch of Darkness - Morio Hoshimura. 

As the crowd of people made their way to view the arena stage and the boy standing within the center waiting for his opponent, they were immediately split into a path as a group of 5 made their way. Four of these mysterious individuals were cloaked in Pendragon drags with council badges, symbolizing their ties to Alyssane Pendragon, mother to the one at the center of these cloaked beings. Hotaru would elegantly move through the crowd with her escort. Not bothering to look at anyone other than the one before her on the monitor. Reaching the end of the path there was a throne-like seat waiting. The cloaked men and woman would make way for her to take her seat. As she did he did not speak a word. She merely flared at Morio with an amused expression. 

It has been some time since she laid her amber eyes on him. Her dazzling beauty left the bystanders in awe, they were momentarily focused on her and not the competition. She paid it not mind, it was irrelevant to her to say the very least. She wanted to see how well Morio have honed his skills. How well he and Cassian work together. A chuckle from within would echo through her being, but it was not from her, nor could it be heard by anyone else. “How endearing this is… The heiress of the Shinkou coming to morally support her friend. My, my, Hotaru. You’ve gotten soft, have you?” Hekate teased, but it did not influence the woman as the Yuumei would have liked. “Silence yourself specter. Your screeching is distracting me.” She spoke, lowly as she maintained her visual.

Well, this was a fortunate time for the Akari to make her return.

Sitting in the front row of the stands, Hikari Namikaze waited for the battle to start between the two champions that had dared to brave the battlefield. The Kunochi hadn't heard of Morio before, but she was quite familiar with Arashi. It was honestly such a strange case that the two had never met before. Arashi was the adopted child of Queen Akihana Akari, if Hikari recalled his story correctly, a former Queensguard and had been apart of multiple missions with Lord Kyousuke before his death. The Akari probably should go out of her way at some point to meet with the prince sometime soon.

Underneath her contact lenses, the Kunochi's pale Byakugan eye would activate, giving her a close up view of the entire battlefield. It was time to see what these brave young men would be capable of on this battlefield.

Ty was excited to have the day off from missions and with some entertainment to go with it! The Nova tournament had arrived. It was open to all qualifying shinobi, but Typhon had no interest in becoming one of the white cloaks. Not yet at least. He had to improve much more than he already had. Repeated spars against Yamato left it very clear that the young Canopic was not at that level yet. However, since he decided not to participate, that left his day free to watch the matches and enjoy the event. Sadly he would have to remain masked and couldn't eat any of the festival food being sold outside the venue.

Arriving at the arena he would wander around waiting for the next match to start. It was a particularly interesting match-up as one of the competitors was a squad member of Ty's: Morio. Though his teammate was younger by a significant number of years, when it comes to skill he far outclassed Typhon. He was a reassuring ally to have in the field and so Ty was eager to see what he could do in this tournament.

Leaning up against a rail overlooking the arena he would scan the rapidly growing crowd. He could see several shinobi waiting for the event to begin. Glancing around his eyes would catch sight of a familiar face. That of Hotaru, another member of Team Winter and easily the most intimidating. She was being escorted by a group of cloaked guards, though ironically the soldiers were only goof for a show. The woman they were "protecting" could likely take on all four at once. Ty couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.

His attention snapped back to the arena as the announcement went out that the fight was about to begin.

Knowing that the tournament was bound to be packed with talent Yamato took to making sure he could watch a few fights, given his position in the tournament he was given a luxury that the others were not…observation. His goal in this tournament was to make a name for himself of course, but there was another reason. Morio, one of his pupils in Team Winter…if he were to move forward with his own training this would allow him a great leap forward. It would also allow Yamato to properly take care of those in his care. Rank meant nothing here, but power did so he sat and paid attention to the match as he wanted to give himself an edge in the fight, but to also offer criticism for those he taught. When the fight began, Yamato was quick to pay attention to the opening movements as they would set the tone for the entire fight.

He noticed two of his other fellow Team Winter members in the stands, but he did not wish to bother them with idle talk at the moment. He would let them have their peace, seeing Hotaru there though made Yamato smile as it felt like there really was something between Hotaru and Morio.

Heroshi would enter the arena spectators area excited to see some sparing. He was interested to see how others fought so he could try to emulate them. Two people he had never met before were about to start Morio a genin, and Arashi a Jounin, heroshi thought about the difference in ability, but was always a fan of the underdog. Heroshi would find his way into the front rows to get a better view of the action moving past a bunch of other people having conversations. He would notice his sensei and give him a quick nod, Heroshi would be excited to see his match, but the moment called for focus on the fighters. Heroshi would sit down next to a woman he didn't recognize, but she looked focused on the fight. Heroshi would steal a quick glance at her, but wouldn't want to bother the kunochi, he would actually scoot a little bit away from her because he knew he'd exclaim excitedly when some powerful attacks would land or someone would dodge, and he didn't want to upset or annoy the kunochi next to him.

The news of a tournament had left the young Uchiha with a slight amount of annoyance that he didn’t even try and sign up for the tournament itself. However he could not really mind not signing up for it, especially since this tournament would show people from within the village what their top tier shinobi were capable of. A show of strength right after a time of great peril was great in invigorating the ninja within that of Hoshigakure. Yet what had piqued his interest the most, was not only was Yamato-Sensei signing up for the tournament. But the second name was one that surprised him the most out of all the names listed within the tournament.

“Morio Hoshimura… Of course this is when he makes his grand return.”

Hearing the clatter of footsteps slap about on the ground behind him, the relaxed Uchiha turned his gaze immediately towards the pendragon emblem emblazoned on the cloaks of those who were protecting one of his own teammates. He found the formalities to be a bit much, yet that was almost always the case with Hotaru besides that one mission they did with each other in the winter. The youngest out of them all, even Morio, who was only ahead of him by 17 days exactly. Yet it was exhilarating to see Morio contending with the big dogs. It was something that could also motivate him as well. Yet the other two that were by him as well surprised him. Typhon he had spotted out of the crowd with simply an activation of his own Sharingan. It had that same sort of look to it, almost like an earthy sort of mist. While Hikari’s was that of a blinding light, the sun itself illuminates the world. It was stupidly blinding how her chakra was looking. Yet when he had found his seat, he had grabbed his own kind of food as well, finding a seat near Typhon as he’d try and get his other teammates attention with a wave of his hands. Wanting to see how they were now that it had been almost six months since he last had seen them. Wanting to rekindle something for them and hopeful that he could at least say hello to a few.

Ty would turn his head as someone took a seat next to him. It was a young lad that he knew: Toran, the final of his squadmates to arrive. Ty would smile though it'd be hard to tell.

"Hey Toran, been a little while. Hope you've been doing well." He would say turning to face his teammate. The young Uchiha probably had the same idea as him and wanted to see Morio in action. "Glad to see you made it. Hotaru is also here somewhere. Looks like team winter made a good showing of support for Morio."

As he tried to make some idle chitchat the match would explosively begin. Right out the gates Morio would launch a barrage of powerful attacks towards Arashi.

"Of course that's how it starts. I'd be disappointed if it were any other way." Ty would laugh.

“Ah, yes. Morio Hoshimura, heir to the clan and all their political clout - what’s left of it. And the Prince of Hoshigakure, with more to prove than he has to gain.” The Hiyu from above the arena, staring down at the fighters. They seemed to have gotten off to a fast start, but it would also seem that Morio was the more experienced fighter. His initial move was quite flawless to for an opening attack. But it was a ploy, the real attack was the space-time Jutsu that was spawned behind the Prince. There was no true way of detecting it, Atarashi even pondered if he would have been as careless as the Prince to not read through such an attack. 

“So what are you going to do now, Prince? If I know the young heir to the Hoshimura, he’s a ruthless character. No room in his cold and diminishing heart for such a thing like ‘mercy’. It is a trait that befits someone to call themselves a Nova. We don the white cloaks to show the purity of the village and what it stands for. But the cloak is just a scabbard to the blade that is the shinobi.” Lowly he spoke those words. Out of earshot of the other shinobi there to watch the fight.
