Komori

Years of training had given Komori a rather acute sense of hearing, the whispers from the younger sister, Izumi, serving as words of encouragement to the eldest, Kunika. Here he had already overheard both of their names, a far cry from how long it took him to get Yamato’s even if this may have been considered eavesdropping in certain, albeit most, circles. The blonde girl seemed to not pay him any direct attention, though there was no telling what was in her head. Although he had just used a low level technique more in line with how he used to act, he was still trying to maintain a cover here. A flair of chakra being sensed from him if he were to perform a mind reading tech was not necessarily the move.

About the time Mori had looked at Yamato was the time where he had double blinked, to which he would pick up the sentiment. However, he would be unable to convene it himself as he had already started speaking to the other patrons and did not want to appear like he was winking multiple times at any of them, at least for now. The name of the effeminate boy who had strode in was revealed to be Asahi, at least according to Yamato who appeared to know him. This might have been easier for Eye patch san, had he not isolated himself for years and gotten to know the members of the village he had lived in for months, if not years at this point. The only measurement of time he truly followed was the movement of the sun in the sky and the harvest cycle. The original Blondie seemed to stumble over himself for a bit, eventually seeming to gain his footing towards the end.

Now it was time for the other blondie, Asahi. He had expected a glass sliding into his hand, but instead the boy felt the need to personally hand over the glass. He maintained his position, instead opting to turn his head towards the inquiry and accept the offering in kind with his right hand. His voice was largely unimpressed, not that Asahi had done anything to warrant it. “Mori,” was his curt response as he took a hold of the green glass, keeping track of how the red haired woman would respond as well. Upon the statement of more and more new people arriving in Tanbo, Komori would roll his eye, downing the shot in the same instance to wash away the thoughts of his peaceful retirement being bombarded with more and more new people. The liquid burned his throat as it went down much more smoothly than what he had been drinking in the afternoon. First, a grocery store owner had come to his paddy field, and now he had been caught up in the largest evening crowd he had seen. It seemed as though he could not get away from anyone in this town anymore.

Timelines are confusing, so Komori reacted to the familiar looking stranger down here instead as he poured himself another glass of ginger gin. It was neither the first time that he had been gazed upon and told he was attractive, nor would it be the last. He took another sip from his glass, however, as he needed to feel a more severe buzz in order for him to deal with yet another addition to the buzzing crowd. Hanzo seemed far more preoccupied with the Izumi girl to linger on him for long, but he could not help but think he was looking into a younger mirror of himself. The same hair, the same eyepatch, even a nearly identical demeanor. Looking down, he swirled his drink in his cup, his cheeks not even appearing flushed just yet. There was no possibility that he could be hallucinating could he? Yamato certainly thought he had been earlier in the day, so perhaps it was a special property of Tanbo booze. There were mixed feelings over him taking the seat he had left open for Kunika, but it was not enough to make a fuss over. After all, he still had to see how she was handling the situation on her end.

Skeptically, was how she was handling it. Her striking golden eyes were impossible to miss in their darting between himself and Takemichi, the cover up for his self help attitude causing him to miss the offering of her name, even if he already heard it earlier. Instead, she chose to mildly chide her sister. Having been left alone for so long, Mori had been going to take another sip, when her threatening of the newcomer piqued his interest in this woman, as he was fond of the kind of woman that will actually just kill him. However, with Hanzo taking the seat he had left open, she found herself sitting on his blind side. Unfettered by her callout, he responded in kind with the same whisper. “I prefer the expression ‘borrowing without asking’.” His blue eye turned to meet gold. “Plus, it’s not really theft if you pay for it,” he pointed out as he lifted his glass to his lips to take another swig.

The earlier feeling of not being able to escape was further compounded when the long blond haired, somewhat feminine male who was not Yamato - since that series of descriptors were not capable of easily identifying enough anymore - decided to try to pull him up to do karaoke. He cast his glance towards the aforementioned Yamato, reading his face to see if he was going to be more receptive than himself. Should Blondie One meet his gaze and seem in any way receptive to the idea, Komori would nod towards the stage to further encourage him. While this may have been something he would have leapt at the chance for back in Kumogakure, in the here and now he did not believe that he enjoyed such recreation. Yet he would be certain that someone else took the stage before outright stating, “I don’t think so,” upon Asahi asking Mori to do so. He would, however, top off his glass before turning in his chair to face the stage and Kunika, who had still not offered her name outright despite his earlier probe.

~Hikari's Outfit~:

Having spent the day working, or rather attempting to, write her letter for the Mizukage, the snowy haired woman stretched her arms over her head before casting a glance towards the growing pile of crumpled up pieces of paper in the trash bin. “Who knew it would be this hard to write a damn letter…” She sighed before getting up from her chair, taking some time to walk around the room and work out her tense muscles. Hikari had been seated for far too long staring at a blank page, waiting for the words of inspiration to fill her head and give her the muse she so desperately longed for. She had been working on this letter for a few days now, on and off between training and being teleported to a mysterious Christmas land, and yet she had no progress to show for it. Every time she wrote something down she would immediately feel disgusted by it and throw the piece away. Nothing seemed to scream ‘please let me join this village without killing me’.

“Let’s get a change of scenery. Maybe some tea will help clear up my mind.” Her voice was soft as she looked over to her wolven companion, Kuro, before tidying up her belongings and putting them away in a small purse she was going to take with her on their outing. Then the kunoichi went into the closet provided by the inn she was staying at and shifted through the articles of clothing hanging up, her eyes lighting up at a beautiful black and white kimono. Grabbing the garment she got to work on changing out of her usual black dress to don the kimono, a fitting outfit choice for going to a tea house. The only tea house she knew of in town seemed to be traditional and quite fancy- thus, her typical dress seemed almost underdressed for the occasion.

Hikari then put some makeup upon her visage, nothing too heavy just enough to cover up any blemishes and give more definition to her eyelashes. Afterwards she combed and straightened her hair, deciding to let it hang down instead of putting it into an updo. The long white tresses went down to her mid-back, with a few strands in front of her shoulders to frame her face nicely. Once she was done the duo set out from their room, walking down the bustling streets of Tanbo as people were going to and from the rice fields and shops.

A faint chakra she knew from years past caused the young woman to briefly stop in her track, her eyes widening for a moment. She resumed walking but hastened her pace, thoughts swirling around in her head. Why was he in Tanbo? What happened to Kumo if he was here? Was he possibly wanting a fresh start like she? Did he join the ranks of Tanob, and if so, how did he convince his kage to give permission? Or did he not need permission because he was a fellow kage? Her head was beginning to ache as more and more questions popped up, overtaking her thoughts with nothing but him. She had to find out his answers.

The inside of the bar was loud, the air slightly smokey as a few people were using pipes. A few eyes turned towards them as they entered, as well as a few hushed whispers presumably about the rather large wolf accompanying her. He stood at about shoulder height to her, with his incisors protruding from his upper lip, and he had bloody red eyes, which were glaring daggers at anyone who dared wander too close to his friend. The aforementioned friend, Hikari, was surveying the room, ignoring any staring or pointing that the inhabitants had about her wolf.

One such person contributing to the smoke was a beautiful blonde woman at the bar, which was full with an assortment of characters. There were two other blondes interacting with the group at the bar; one she noticed was her friend from Christmas town, Yamato, and the other she had not had the pleasure to meet just yet, although she couldn’t tell if they were a man or a woman. The mysterious blonde’s features were both masculine and feminine; a beautiful mix for a beautiful person. A man with an eyepatch and dark hair was near the blonde woman with the pipe, as the other blonde person was near the corner setting up for something that the Hyuuga couldn’t quite make out. At first she thought the eyepatch wearer near the blonde was the man she had sensed, their resemblance being uncanny; however, after focusing for a second, she could tell the chakra signature was actually coming from another eyepatch wearing man who was sitting beside a red haired woman.

She felt it would’ve been rude if she just waltzed right up to him and demanded answers, especially when he was right in the middle of conversing with someone, so Hikari and Kuro made their way over to the other familiar face in the room. “Long time no see Yamato, mind if we join you?” Her voice was gentle, but loud enough to be heard over the roar of conversations happening around the room. She waited patiently for his response, and if he said he didn’t mind then she would take a seat in the unoccupied chair beside him. “How have you been?”

As she listened to his reply the bartender came over and she ordered some water for Kuro and a flowery sake for herself, not being a fan of strong liquor nor being someone who could handle it either. Much like her stature her tolerance for alcohol was rather small, more than a couple shots was enough to get her pretty drunk. It was both a blessing and a curse to be a lightweight; on one hand she was able to save money on drinks, on the other she couldn’t last as long as others unless she took only sips instead of shots.

Once the drinks she ordered arrived she would place the bowl of water down beside her chair for Kuro and would press the small cup to her rosy lips, feeling the warmth of the liquor as it went down. The liquid had a sweet taste to it and was aromatic, filling her nose with a pleasant scent of petals. With how easy this sake was to drink, she knew it would be dangerous to order more- lest she want Kuro to have to carry her home on his back. It would be an easy feat for the large wolf, but the struggle would come from her trying to fumble around for the key to their room and actually get it into the right hole. After all, drunk people were notorious for their terrible coordination and ninjas were no exception to this rule.

Every now and again Hikari would sneak a glance towards Komori, hoping to find an opening to talk to him. Perhaps he had as many questions for her as she did for him, or maybe he couldn’t even remember her chakra or her face. The years had aged them both a little bit; he with more facial hair and a worn out look, while she had less of a baby face and no longer gave off a murderous aura (if he had ever gotten that vibe from her in the first place).

Izumi would smile towards Yamato; her mind focused on him once again; ignoring the comments from others – he knew about their ‘mind tricks’, this was something that she herself had only just learned in the recent years of her life. Something that originally had gone unchecked for a long time that did end up causing havoc within several orphanages.  She would simply shrug, not wanting to give out any more information that needed, “I ain’t sure what your talking about…” She would put it to a break for now.

She wouldn’t answer anymore questions about her knowledge of the clan. Perhaps the next time; he would be more sober, and the conversation would be more private… She would make sure to remember his face; she would catch him alone again at some point. She even had questions she wanted answers to.

As the newest male member to the group with swing in; she couldn’t help but move her eyesight to him… He was… Interesting; to say the least; his eyes would hit onto her rather quickly; and she would return the gaze with her own. She would make note of his eyepatch, a sense of… mystery if this was a true aliment. If not, well… That was just lame then. At this point the sake she had downed earlier was being to kick in, as her glass was filled again, she would quickly make quick consumption of it; as she would hear her dearest sister speak again, she would smile.

Oh dear sister… let us hope that tonight’s activities lessen my grievances in the morning. Go have fun.” She would smile, watching as she would make quick note of the new comer, the threat was not simply a threat, Izumi knew this; but still it made soft giggles escape as she watched her sister, “Have fun sister.” She would give her a small wave as she watched her carefully for a few moments before returning her gaze towards the others.

She would see the last woman of the night enter the bar scene; she was beautiful; dressed similarly to how the other women were; Izumi felt more at home in Tanbogakure then she could have ever imagined, between a few of the rougher gruff types being oddly dressed compared to the kimono wearing folk; she knew that without a single doubt in her mind that she would get along within this place just fine. She would make note as the woman would come up; her wolf beside her… Wait, wait wait wait… Her wolf?

There was a freaking wolf?! Izumi’s eyes widened just a little as she stared at the creature for a moment… It seemed tamed…? She narrowed her eyes watching carefully as the woman would address the remaining blonde male – before returning her own attentions away from the wolf – as she wanted no part of that situation; and towards the very robust and honest in eavesdropping Hanzo.

She wanted to give distance from her sister, as well as distance from the man with many questions and the strange tingle he brought to her brain… drinking and brain talk were not good together.

You.” Izumi would state, pointing slightly at Hanzo, “You look like I could get into a lot of trouble tomorrow morning.” Her eyes narrowed towards him, “Let us have a contest shall we? Who can drink more.” She would smile, waving to the bartender, he would drop the bottle of sake, and she would quickly grab it, taking two glasses along with it, “Come, we need to make a wager.” She would giggle as she headed towards the other side of the room with him. This night would be the most interesting, and fun night she had in a long time.

Yamato

A familiar face. "Hikari? What are you doing in Tanbo?". It was clear Yamato was overwhelmed by the number of people he felt like he needed to pay full attention to. Asahi seemed drunk and enjoying himself. Mori was in a similar situation. All of the new people seemed to be engaging with them, or with each other. "Either way, pleasure to see you again.".

The hours of drinking with Mori, and the hours before then of working and not sleeping was also catching up with Yamato. Even in his best self, social situations were hard for him, but this night especially seemed to be testing him to the fullest. He looked around to locate the exit. The anxiety and the exhaustion was getting to him. He needed to get out. He felt like he had to say farewells to some people, but everyone seemed to be engaged in conversation. He addressed Hikari a final time, "Anyway, welcome to Tanbo. If you need a tour around the town you should request it from the tourism office, and I’m sure they’ll connect you with the best person for the job. I’ll see you around town.".

He then got up from his seat. He grabbed his drink to finish it off. If any of the people made eye contact with him, he raised his glass in place of a farewell. Shortly after, he took his belongings, and left the teashop.

Is it time? [OPEN] - Page 2 Empty Re: Is it time? [OPEN]

Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:16 pm
It was with a disappointed pout that Asahi would disengage from Mori.  He had looked like he could be fun, but the evidence unfortunately pointed otherwise.  Alas, still he couldn't allow such a thing ruin a good time.  As previously stated, he made his way over to the stage and gazed through the book of popular songs, their lyrics plainly written to aid a drink addled mind.  Many of the songs were folk, though there was a section on foreign oriented songs as well.   Tanbogakure's status as a small settlement doing big trade helped keep the influences rolling in.  New commers and goers not an uncommon sight for the village.  Sipping on his sake and flipping through the pages he finally came to a selection.  Looking up he had just enough time to give a farewell cheer to his dear friend Yamato.  A little saddened by a familiar face's departure, he settled in on the little stool, pulling the microphone up to his lips.  The smell of stale beer was awash on the small mechanical instrument, something that made him smile.  Good to know the machine was getting its uses.  He'd give Takemichi a wave for a refill, and then begin the song.

It started slow, but the melody would cause it to pick up.  The song had originated in Yukigakure originally, at least according to the page in the book.  It recounted the tale of a snow maiden that had been turned into a pure white hair.  Only to become a maiden again on the full moon, a sort of reverse lycanthropy.  Despite the upbeat nature of the song however, it seemed the maiden never did learn her lesson, and by the end of the song she remained in her harey (jokes) disposition.

His refill of sake would shortly arrive.  Getting up, he would mingle not only with the group at the bar but also some of the other patrons.  Not long however he would find himself back at the machine, singing what was now an Iwagakure folk song.  Another cautionary tale, though this one providing beasts from the local fauna.  Honesty, so many folk songs where just tales on what not to do and how not to behave.  This was how Asahi would regale most of the rest of the night.  Intermittent mingling, just to return to sing another song.  He was not a particularly gifted singer, though his enthusiasm and drunkenness of the crowd did help.  It also helped some of the drunker farmers thought him a pretty blonde woman, leading to several slips of ryo to be left in a jar that certainly hadn't been there prior.  Not his fault, though he thought to himself, he wondered what animal he would be turned into if cautionary tales ever ended up having any merit to them.  So, it would go, Asahi would pass the evening pleasantly on.  In the event someone joined him, the tale can be recanted elsewhere, and if no one did then well, this was the story.

Is it time? [OPEN] - Page 2 Empty Re: Is it time? [OPEN]

Fri Jan 21, 2022 1:02 am
With her index finger trailing a short curved line around the edge of her glass, right leg crossed over her left and her posture lax as she leaned over the counter to watch the curious man - she would smirk as his face turned to look at her, addressing her directly in the same whisper she had used on him. The striking blue countered her gold like the sun at high noon on a clear day, unfettered by her chiding he righted his actions in her mind - though he had no reason to do so, which only made it a more interesting choice. “You’ll have to be faster than me to pay for it, then won’t you?” The stare-down between the two would be interrupted initially by Asahi asking for him to join in the festivities of song to which he refused to instead top of his glass.

That would be when yet another figure.. Or rather two entered into the slowly filling Tea Shop. A pale white blonde with even paler gray eyes and an accompanying large ball of fiery eyed fur at her side. Her eyes would glance at the two as the door opened and closed, the only indication other than that would be the slight rolling of her shoulders back as she straightened herself in her seat to be ready - because of course the duo was padding over to their general area. Listening in, she would hear the girl greet the inquisitive Yamato, seeming to be friendly with him enough for a greeting without introduction. Her ordered drinks would arrive and it was hard not to note the frequent glances in their direction, though she was more than sure that it was more so for the man sat next to her and not for her exactly.

What a night this was turning into… with eyes closed she would reach out and grasp the neck of the bottle containing her only savior to confrontation - Ginger Gin. Most would think that alcohol would only enhance a person prolaticity to confrontation but it had a different effect on the hot head Akari - it made her far more docile in that regard and more inclined to other activities. With a deep breath she would down the drink she had been idly toying with and pour herself another heavy measure - only releasing the bottle when she forced herself to lean forward on the counter and blind herself from the surrounding chaos that was swelling around her. Instead she chose to focus on the man in front of her, the man she only knew as Mori. Had he asked her her name… maybe he had but it had been lost in all of the commotion that it had slipped through and now it was even harder to grasp at what had and hadn’t been said.

Heavily leaning on her elbow now tilted her head to the side a bit as she continued to stare at the blue eye, only periodically focusing on the eyepatch. Only when the curious blond stood from their seat was her concentration interrupted, lazily staring after him as he made his exit - like a lion too well fed to prepare for a chase. That was when a devilish smile spread across her face, leaving… Now didn’t that sound fun? Her eyes would snap between the white blonde woman and Mori once more before the decision was made. “You know Mori, it’s gotten a bit noisy, you think I could steal you away to get to know you better?” The devilish smile she wore would morph into an expression of playful cunning. If her sister said to have a good time why not have a good time? The liquor on an empty stomach had definitely begun to take hold, and she was slipping into her old persona as the moments ticked by - draining her glass one more time she would grab the bottle and his arm as she stood.

Leaning a little closer to him before he stood so she was hovering just above him, the attempted introduction coming back to her memory just then, “Miss Kunika, but I doubt you’ll remember that come the morning.” Though she wasn’t strong she hoped her tug on his arm would pull him to his feet so she could loop her arm securely around his - and as the two moved away from the bar she would glance sidelong at the beautiful pale blonde and her wolf companion as they passed; the glow of her yellow eyes hard to miss before she reverted her attention to the man she was leading out of the establishment.

Feeling the ruthless still
I'LL TAKE
Y O U ↓

◉Holy hell there were quite a bit of good looking baddies here in the land of rice and honey. Hanzo could hardly believe that there were so many attractive people in one room. He didn't think a single man in here was ugly and the women, well they were on a whole different level. Hanzo was excited to say the least. But not enough to have his attention taken off of the one that had initially caught his eye. Perhaps that in and of itself was a mistake on his behalf. He wasn't quite sure himself. Especially given the fact that he knew very little about the people around him. Snubbing them now might backfire later.

Social gatherings weren't exactly the best place for a man like Hanzo to be. Not that he was shy, but because he came across in a manner that most people could consider to be rude or thuggish. Not that he'd ever notice the correlation. In his own head he was the perfect gentleman. The kind of man that could slip his way into high society with a smile and a wave. He wasn't the kind of man that he thought he was though. No matter how hard he struggled or how much he bothered to try, refinement would allude him. Permanently. He was not aware that his destiny lie in the very place that he thought he'd escape from. In sheer and utter barbarism.

Dozens of interactions unfolded in a short amount of time, though something immense, similar to an all consuming cloud of dread, hung over Hanzo the entire time that he sat here and watched those around him. These were to be his comrades going forward? How... dangerous. He wasn't sure whether or not he was going to enjoy the choice he made to live here or not. There were many eccentric personalities that were in this one location and it seemed like now everyone was splitting up into their own little social groups. He wasn't sure if anyone was going to be interested in getting to know him at all. Which, he didn't blame them given how he had acted just shortly beforehand.

But when that lovely voice spoke up, he recognized that he was given a lifeline. This woman, this Izumi. Something about her was... entertaining to say the least. But he wasn't quite sure what that was just yet. He'd have to investigate that himself. But he had a feeling that whatever this was that he felt wasn't going to be lasting very long. He could tell these things, he was a master of instinct after-all. He'd enjoy himself for now and hopefully something would come out of this interaction with the woman. She didn't seem like the type that he'd lose interest in quickly. He just hoped that he could at least make her his friend for now. That would be the first step in obtaining something more... substantial.

Seemed she wanted to have a drinking contest, he wasn't exactly sure where that was going to lead him. But by all means he'd trailed behind her. He didn't really bother to address any of the other people here, due to having his eye on the prize as they say. But that was fine, he had made a big entrance. It wasn't completely out of left field for him to fade off into obscurity. As far as he was concerned, the real party had the potential of starting after the pair had already ingested quite a heft amount of spirits. So off he went with his potential prize. He wondered if she was as fun as she looked or if she was just another tease with curves.

"This ought to prove entertaining." He jested as he followed behind her. He didn't want any problems with the locals and as far as he could see there were some dangerous looking people in here. Though if they were dangerously fun or dangerously dangerous had yet to be seen. "Don't hold it against me if you wake up with regrets come sunrise." He was straightforward and presumptuous, not aware of the woman that he had departed with. But Hanzo had always had a weakness for good looking women. This room certainly had it's fair share of feasts for the eyes. Though he wasn't bothered by his selection at this juncture.

There was the one with the white hair, the one with the curves he was currently talking too, the other blonde with the strange voice and the ginger girl whom was running off with a man that he could have swore was his own father. He had to say he made the right decision coming here to Tanbogakure. He had seen some rather... rough individuals during his time elsewhere. So there was a level of appreciation he had for the village right away. The only thing that mattered now was seeing what he outcome of his decision was going to be. He wasn't expecting the world from this woman, he had only just met her. But there were plenty of fun activities the pair could do in the meantime.

This was the night that was going to determine his role in this village. It was a backwater sty like his old boss said it was. It seemed both vibrant and full of good cheer. He expected to get the maximum amount of that cheer.
