Kanaye just couldn’t seem to catch a break. The girl was already dodging as Kanaye started rising through the air, and to make things worse, he drastically overshot. Traveling five meters into the sky.
“Shit,” Kanaye thought as he saw the large water shark and five spheres all flying on a collision course with him. Kanaye wracked his brain trying to think of a way out of the situation, but his options were pretty limited, given the fact that he was currently in the air. As he grew near the ground, Kanaye formed four hand seals, then moved his hands into a blocking stance, hoping to be able to redirect the attacks. Unfortunately, Kanaye could only muster up enough power to deflect the shark, which he sent on a collision course with Ai’s current path. Three of the five orbs passed through Kanaye’s body as he hit the one meter mark of his descent. The ground was so close, but not close enough. The two orbs that were on the outside now fell beside him, seemingly looking to launch a second wave of attacks. When Kanaye hit the wet, but no longer sticky ground, he was confused. As far as he could tell, the orbs hadn’t caused any damage. This was odd. Surely an attack that was powerful enough to resist his deflection had to do something. But Kanaye wasn’t going to worry about that at the moment. For now, Kanaye started to once again try to close the gap between himself and Ai, though this time the distance between them was 10 meters. As he ran, Kanaye kept a close eye on the two orbs that had been tailing him, getting ready to stop at a moment's notice if they tried to attack.

Quite unfortunate. It would be his decision to activate the 360 degree hand shield that would close the coffin for this aspiring young cultist. THe moment he activated the shield, He would create a barrier that saught to attack the orbs. Given the orbs clash with jutsu, and this was a jutsu, the barrier would crash against the first orb, shattering on it's power before it could deflect the shark's attack. When the second orb enters his body as he described, a mass would build in his chest, a roiling formation of overhealed cells creating a growth in his body that pulsed with power. With his shield being shattered by the orb, ensuring that he failed to react to the technique, the water shark would crash into him as described, taking a large chunk of his health with it. Even as Ai shifted instinctively to the left, circling around in response to a technique that was destroyed immediately the cultists fate was sealed.

Ragnar gripped the stone, activating the rupture effect by squeezing it tightly. The effect would be immediate, his clutch on the stone causing the final 200 points of damage needed to end the targets life, but they were thorough.

As Ragnar gripped the stone, the final two orbs would shoot off, the first aiming center mass on the boy, the short distance and fact that he would be at the apex of his leap(5m) when the attacks so close struck him ensuring that there was no escape. THe second shot outward. In the off chance that the barrier effect wasn't broken because the orb was inside of the jutsu when activated(which it would have. It targets anythign within and the power break would shatter the barrier) The outward orb at its speed would destroy the barrier before the shark was deflected anyway. The orb coming towards him at 200 power and 150 speed would find its way into his chest unless stopped, building a second growth as ragnar prepared to rupture a second time.

They moved in silence, watiting to see if they'd finished their enemy, With Ai circling around As her hands formed the seals for the ninjutsu amplifier. Once she was in a position to fire at her enemy without harming her friends, having moved in a circle to her left that put him between her and the far wall with her team on her left side still ahead of her in their positioning, and keeping her 10m position from Kanaye, She would say the words to end it all if he wasn't already dead.

"Whirling waters of wowness." A torrential pour of water would slip from her lips with a speed of 115 and power of 155. With his enhancer over and hand shield broken(though this is not a projectile its an area of effect with hand shield working against projectiles specifically) There would be no reprieve as the wave swept him up in a current too powerful for him to resist, tearing at his body and ending things that way.

Kanaye had failed. As he went to block the shark, the orbs reached his barrier first, and shattered his defences. As his feet were exactly one meter away from the ground, the orb passed through him, causing a tumor to grow in his chest. Almost immediately after, the water shark slammed into Kanaye, not causing any damage, but completely wiping out his DR. Then, almost when things seemed like they couldn’t get any worse. They did. Prompted by the otter squeezing some weird rock, the tumor in Kanaye’s chest ruptured, killing Kanaye in one fell swoop. In his last few seconds, Kanaye couldn’t help but feel sorrow, as he had failed to spill even a single drop of blood in Jashin’s name. Moments later, Kanaye’s dead body hit the wet ground with a sickening thud and suddenly was laying in the room that Ai had fallen asleep in. If Ai were to investigate Kanaye’s body, all she would find is his ninja tools, the symbol of jashin tattooed on his back and the same symbol worn around his neck.

She watched the body fall, releasing her summon with kill confirmation and finally letting out a deep breath. She'd done it. Saya had never told her that it was going to be THIS tough. Now the past stories really made sense.

"I. Uh. I guess we should go home now... Thanks team." The dream world faded, Ai waking up in her bed with an annoyingly heavy cultist laying over her lap. Only question now was what should she do with the body?! She wondered if it would be useful to her team. Probably not, but Daiko would definitely know more about it. Shoving the corpse off her lap, she'd finally sleep.
