Birds of a Dying Feather - Page 2 Empty Re: Birds of a Dying Feather

Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:46 pm
"Dinner sounds good actually." Typhon would say with an unseeable smile. It'd be nice to sit down and talk with someone while unmasked. He would lead the way towards the area with record Scrolls. There obviously wouldn't be too much on offer because shinobi work is inherently not meant to be public knowledge. With a little luck and some persistence the pair managed to find a single scroll. A debriefing written by Typhon's own mother. It might just be what he's looking for.

"I think I've got what I came here for. Thanks for the help." He'd say as he checked out the books and scroll. He stuffs them in his bag and reslings it over his shoulder. "I'm ready to head out. You wanna lead the way?"

Birds of a Dying Feather - Page 2 Empty Re: Birds of a Dying Feather

Plans were quickly made for dinner to be had amongst the excited pair. Typhon quickly lead the way to the area with the recorded scrolls Typhon had set out to find. What they had found was... frustrating. There was a distinct lack of information present. All too frustrating for the young member of the Canopic. They looked through document after document, only to be met with numerous dead ends time and time again, until Takeda was ready to give up. He was hoping to find something of use with Typhon, though he came back empty handed.

Though just as Takeda was about to call it on his end, Typhon found what he was looking for. A single small scroll. Takeda could only hope that it was worth it. With the long day of work finally over, and Typhon's items checked out, the shinobi asked Takeda if he would lead the way. Takeda nodded with giddy excitement. He knew his behavior was juvenile, but he simply couldn't help it.

"Of course! I know a little shop nearby that does take-out. After that we could try to find somewhere secluded to eat. I know there are a couple of spots in the water garden that people don't typically go to."

The best place to eat would definitely be at Takeda's apartment, though he wasn't quite ready to bring someone over there yet, especially someone he'd just met. After all, who wants to share a single beaten up wicker chair?

Should Typhon follow, Takeda would lead him to a small little ramen shop nearby, where they could take their food to go and chat a bit as they searched for some place to eat it.

With books and documents in hand Typhon would follow Takeda out of the grand library and head towards the ramen shop he mentioned. The shop front was small and unassuming, but the smells drifting out from it were divine. Ty figured the aroma must be really strong for him to be able to smell it through his mask.

Once the pair had their orders to go they would set out in search of a quiet spot to sit and eat. With the sun going down the water gardens would be starting to clear out. If they were gonna find a good spot it would likely be there. As they walked about looking around, Ty would spot a big leafy cherry blossom tree with no one around. The pink leaves were a rare sight at this time of year, but a welcome one.

"Why don't we sit over there? Looks like a pretty spot." He would suggest.

Birds of a Dying Feather - Page 2 Empty Re: Birds of a Dying Feather

Takeda looked to the spot his companion had selected and nodded. It was a rather beautiful spot in his mind, and a good move strategically. Behind it was a thick cluster of trees packed tightly enough together that navigating it would be a hassle for any passerby. Additionally, it had a wide open view of the rest of the water gardens. A beautiful scene, though one that also provided the two Canopic with a view of anyone approaching them. If anything, this was quite possibly one of the safest places in the water gardens to remove their biohazard gear.

"Lets do it!"

Takeda walked over and sat down with his back to the stump, placing his food in between his legs as he sat cross-legged. A deep sigh emerged from Takeda's mouth as trembling hands reached for the mask on his head. The closest he'd gotten to drinking in fresh outside air was when he'd keep his bedroom window open at the wee hours of the morning in his old village. Certainly not removing his mask outdoors where others could stumble upon him and get sick. Though things were different now. There wasn't anyone around that could get sick from his contagious breath, and he had a reason now. Takeda removed his mask gently, placing it next to himself on the floor as he gave another long, slow exhale. The air felt wonderful tonight in the man's lungs, and a smile stretched across his face.

"Well... I guess it's time to dig in then..."

Takeda opened the box of food and began eating slowly, waiting for his companion to say something before opening up a line of conversation. It was a special moment for the man to have companionship that he could eat around that wasn't his family, and he was more than content to bask in the silence for a little while. Though as Takeda finished his meal and pushed the empty box to the side, he would speak if his partner had not yet done so.

"So... What made you decide to become a shinobi?"

Birds of a Dying Feather - Page 2 Empty Re: Birds of a Dying Feather

Sitting down with his new friend Typhon looked around. The area was pretty and the people were all mostly gone. It was safe to take off their masks. A rare opportunity for Ty outside of his home. The breeze in the air felt good on the exposed skin. He would cough a little at the sharpness of the fresh air and then laugh.

"Not used to that crispness."

As he dug in to the food Takeshi asked him what his reason for enlisting was. Not a great motivation but he wasn't ashamed of it.

"I really only joined because it was the only place that would hire me. Nobody wants their groceries handled or their crops harvested by a walking disease...except the shinobi forces."

It was a plain reality for most Canopics in the village. Money was hard to come by and shinobi work pays well.

"I needed money to pay for my father's medical bills. He was injured on a mission and never really fully recovered." He would say with a smile on his face that betrayed the somber words he was saying. "Money is the ultimate motivator after all."

Birds of a Dying Feather - Page 2 Empty Re: Birds of a Dying Feather

Ty and Takeda spent a while chatting back and forth about their lives as Canopics and how it affected every day living. He was glad to finally have someone to talk to about this kind of thing. Someone who understood what it was like to be shunned for something beyond your control. It wasn't like any of our clan ever asked for this to happen. Canopic isn't even a true clan when all is said and done. Just a group of non related people who all had good enough immune systems to adapt to the virus. But that was the nature of prejudice. He couldnt really blame anyone for being wary of him. In truth he really was a walking virus and a danger to those around him.

After finishing their meals the two would part ways. Ty going home with his research in hand. He would pore over the texts once he got back to his house. Hopefully there would be something useful inside.
