Dusting off the cobwebs (Arc and Kizmaru)

Arc finished his normal training and he started to head home. He was feeling a little better about his condition than he did most days. The training facility here was a powerful tool. It would have taken him longer to feel this prepared for work. As he left Arc spied a signup sheet on the wall. It was a basic sparring session sign up. Arc wondered if he was up to the task. It would be nice to fight something besides a training dummy. Arc shrugged and put his name down in an empty slot. The signup sheet said he would be notified when there was an available time slot and he figured, that was that.
The next day Arc Was given a time slot for later in the day so he went about his day till the given time. Entering the sparring room it reminded him of medical rooms. It was brightly lit with pads on the floor and walls. Above the pads on the walls on what would be the second floor, there was a viewing area behind a set of glass. Nobody was up there, cause why would anybody chill in a viewing area to watch spars? Arc Flexed his arms a bit as he waited for whomever it was he was to be fighting. Regardless of the person's size or skills, there was always a lesson to be learned.
Arcs training clothes gave him plenty of flexibility as he squatted and stretched his legs and hips. His pants and shirt were a loose gi made of light material. It wasn't his normal attire but it worked well for training. He had decided to go with shoes off for this. He didn’t want to hurt anyone and to be honest he just felt move comfortable and mobile in his bare feet. He hopped up and down feeling the stretch in his arches. And something else. Something bubbling up from his very soul.
The Sparring area was 15 meters across and shaped as an octagon. The ceiling was some 20 meters up and the doors swung in to prevent accidental spills out into the hallways. There were four doors at carnal directions to each other and the padding was firm but provided a cushion against throws and falls.

Hanging around town, Kizmaru was roaming the village freely since he had a couple of days off from being in the office. He had actually managed to pass of his work to somebody else for the time being since he didn't handle a certain kind of request which was left for the village council to decide. He figured since he had time to kill , he'd head on down to the Training Facility for a light sparring session that he signed up for a few days prior. What luck he had, having a free day to spar away. Initallity he would have only down it for an hour or so but since he had the day to himself, he would be able to exercise and practice as much as he wanted today. Heading to the training facility on foot, Kizmaru placed his hands into the pockets of his navy blue pants. Of course, it was paired with his usual attire of a yellow button shirt and his ninja tabi. Arriving at the facility, he made his way to where he had initally signed the sparring sheet to check and see how many people had sign up. On the page, he had noticed a familiar name written on it and smirked a bit.
He never thought Arcanis would be trying to prove himself so soon but so far, he was living up to his word on trying to be useful. Even though they had met, he knew Arcanis had never seen his face so this was the perfect opportunity to speak to him as an 'equal', even if he was still posing as a Jounin ranked Ninja. Enter the training space, Kizmaru had made note of the surroundings he was in. The training area that would as the sparring grounds seemed to range in fifteen square meters in the form of an octagon, padding lined along the floors and the walls. It was a bit smaller than his office but he guessed it would serve its intended purpose of light sparring. He then made another note of the ceiling being twenty meters high. Well, that was all there is too it. All he had to do now was go and 'introduce' himself to his new sparring partner. "Hey there buddy, it looks like I'm gonna be your sparring partner for today. I hope you go easy on me. By the way, my name is Kizmaru Terumi. What's yours," Kizmaru said in a rather cheerful voice.
He already knew his name but he couldn't really go and just tell him they had already met, now can he? Its not everyday people should just be able to casually chat with the Mizukage as if they were old friends. This was also one of the ways to get closer to his villagers and see what there opinion is like on the current state of affairs. Regardless, this was no different from his usual outings so it was easier to do the things he liked to do.

His opponent had shown up, dressed in what looked like ninja garb. This was good, it meant Arc could flex his abilities a little more than he would be able to if untrained military personnel of some type showed up. He wasn’t quite sure of the parameters of the requirements of the facility but that was administrative nonsense that meant little to him. He was allowed to be here and that was all there was to it.
“Hello Kizmaru, My name is Arcanis.” Arc you say matching the young man's cheerfulness. He would offer a handshake and present a firm but not overpowering clasp. A handshake was a good way to test a man's strength. A handshake can start of gentle and if your intent is not to crush the other's hand, men usually created a firm grasp that scaled up to where the two were comfortable. It gave an idea to each man of the capabilities of the other.
Regardless of if the handshake is accepted Arc would cheerfully return, “So, I am new to town, still getting to know everyone.” Should the handshake be refused or after it has been completed Arc would stand in a ready position. He wasn’t sure how these things were supposed to begin but he didn’t want to seem like an idiot for not being ready. He bent his knees slightly centering his balance evenly allowing full range of motion at a moment notice. Arc’s fighting stance was unique which he had mastered over many years of hand to hand combat. The goal was to reduce the distance needed to travel to block any given attack. His right arm would be extended, bent at the elbow, and loose like a willow wand. His right hand held at shoulder height in line with his shoulder and palm facing his opponent.his left similarly held but instead of in front of him would be held lower around chest height and closer to his body. This Arm was tenser than his other one ready to spring into a blocking position.
However, focused he was though his expression didn’t change. It took little thought for Arcanis to leave an expression on his face. Over the years his facial muscles became disjointed from his emotions. So even if his emotions changed his face was something he had to think about to change to the proper expression. But as serious as he was he still had a bit of that cheerfulness at getting to exchange blows with a potential new rival.

Well, they were off to a good start so far. Arcanis had introduced himself once more and Kizmaru smirked a bit in a half friendly, half knowing manner. Of course they had met once before but he was sure Arcanis wasn't privy to that knowledge so he just feigned ignorance for the time being. As Arcanis was done introducing himself, he had extended his hand towards Kizmaru in the gesture of a handshake. This must be his way of greeting everybody he meets for the first time but he felt a bit unease about it. It wasn't that he didn't trust him, it was more so for peace of mind being a leader and all. Staring at the hand, Kizmaru raised the corresponding hand and grasped his forearm instead, to shake it. After the awkward greeting has passed, he followed up by saying he was new to town. Since he had already did this song and dance once before, he figured he would just regurgitate what he already said once before. "Oh, you're new to the village, eh? That's strange. We don't get many transfers to this remote place but either way, if our leader allows you to be here then I guess you're okay. Well I hope you like it here, there's a lot of nice spots around town."
Now that the greetings and the pleasantries were out of the way, it seems the male was ready to get this spar started by getting into his preferred combat stance. With that in mind, Kizmaru prepared to get into his own preferred stance. Standing with his feet shoulder-width apart and taking one step back with his right foot and orienting it so his feet are at right angles to each other. His left leg was relaxed, with the majority of his weight on their right foot, keeping his body straight but maintained the same angle. He brought his hands in front of his face, curling them whiling lean his head forward behind them for better coverage of the face and holding his elbows forward so he could maneuver his arms to block body shots to his ribs or liver. This was a basic stance for a person that primarily used kicks in fights because it lends itself well to kicking and allows for greater mobility and stability. Now that he was comfortable, he spoke up one last time telling the male, "Alright, ready when you are. Start whenever you're comfortable."

Arc allowed the grip to be transferred to his arm. It was an interesting custom, to begin with, and everyone had their own spin on it. Arc thought it amusing that everyone he came across thought it odd that he was there in the first place. But the man seed friendly enough, encouraging Arc to enjoy himself and suggesting there were nice places around town. Arc had been exploring a bit but maybe he would inquire on getting a tour from someone, someone not concentrating on completing a mission. Arc could always find and figure out how basic utilities worked. But it’s the secret places of enjoyment that he needed to find.
But that was enough about that. Maybe Arc would make a friend with this man after he met him in combat. The man had also shifted into a combative stance along with Arc. Arc noted the hospitality of the man to allow him to take the position of the aggressor to start out. Fine by him.
Arc analyzed the man's stance. His weight seemed to be shifted backward and his arms were up in a defensive position. His front leg would be free as well to pose interference or possible attack.
Arc would close the distance quickly, almost seeming like he would simply blast a full frontal attack straight down the barrel of his opponent. Should he get within range of the man without causing him to adjust, a step out instead, he would pivot slightly from a direct assault to a glancing one. Instead, he would drop the final step of his left foot on the outside of his opponent's left foot, pivoting on that left foot now into a lower stance he angled back toward his opponent's left side. Arc would deliver a halfhearted blow directed at the ribs of the man's left side below his blocking arm with the goal of knocking the wind out of him. His Attack had just started, however. With the rotation of his right handed blow, Arc would follow with a sweep of his right leg. This was intended to catch the man's right leg behind the knee disrupting the balance he had placed on it.
Should that blow landed right after his punch to the ribs, he would follow with a palm strike to the chin. This blow should it land would be to stun the man, having such an attack delivered to nearly every side. Should his attack reach this stage Arc figures the man's left arm and shoulder would be within reach and the man would be falling off balance from the kick. Grabbing his shoulder with his left hand that just delivered the blow, Arc would twist again his weight still on his left leg; he would rotate his right hip between the two combatants and drop his weight into a controlled leg sweep with the goal of dropping the man, face down, to the mats. He would be careful not to hurt the man too badly but would at this point grip the man's arm to hold him to the mat hopping for a tap out.
Arc initialized with this attack in mind...

And just like that, their spar had begun with Arcanis taking the first move, as he allowed. It seems he was taking a brief second to anticipate the best way of getting through Kizmaru's stance. It was good the man had some sense of forethought before rushing in blindly to attack him. Afterwards, it seems it was time for the man to make his move. For some reason, he was attempting to close distance between them even though they had just shook hands, well forearms, a moment ago and gotten into their stances respectively. Observing his opponent's movements carefully, Kizmaru braced himself for the sudden blow from his opponent's right hand to come towards his left side. It was an easy solution to his problem, all he did was adjust the position of his left arm, bringing it down in front of his left rib cage in order to shield them from the oncoming strike of his opponent his opponent's attack with his forearm. Simultaneously, he began to quickly raise his right leg towards his opponent's lower abdomen, just above the pelvic region, guiding and slamming his knee into the lower, left quadrant of his opponent's abdomen, in an attempt to prevent a follow up from happening.
As he started to retract his knee from the strike he delivered, Kizmaru also began to thrust his right arm forward towards the forehead of his opponent, opening his fist as it traveled, in an attempt to push his opponent backwards a meter or so. If he was successful in his attempt, Kizmaru would also step back a meter as then he would be in a better position to utilize his fighting style. He would return to his initial stance with a minor adjustment after bringing back his leg from the knee strike he had performed. Instead of his right foot being the one in front, it was the left foot placed forward as he opted to bring his right leg behind the left one, switching which leg was planted and which was relaxed. This was the start of a decent sparring match as he didn't get to have many hand to hand combat opportunities to begin with. It was quite nice fighting outside of his comfort zone in order to pick up on his own strengths and weaknesses when it came to the art form of combat. Remaining vigilant, Kizmaru decided it was in his best interest to be the one to take the lead from here.
As he began stepping back into range of his opponent, Kizmaru began to thrust his his fist towards the temple of his opponent, making an 'L' shaped arc with his arm, in an attempt to deliver a somewhat, powerful blow towards his opponent's temple, in hopes of rattling him a little bit so he could follow up with another strike.

As his blow fell on the blocking arm of the young man he was sparring with, Arc would notice a shift in his balance. His weight was originally centered on his back foot, the right one, but it seemed he was attempting to free the right leg for an attack. Arc pressed his position and momentum of his blow to, instead of kicking at the now inopportune target of the man's right leg, Arc stepped with his right foot instead. Now with his left foot next to his opponents left and his right foot stepping into a place where his opponents just lifted to deliver a blow, Arcanis was fully behind his target and he would wrap his arms around the man's waist as he was still in a low stance from his original blow.
Upon successfully grabbing the man his balance would certainly be off, as the blow Kizmaru tried to deal would try to shift the center of gravity over his left leg, Arc would be pulling him backward and lifting him off his feet. With a swift but controlled motion. Arcanis would arch his back and flip the young man straight over Arc onto the man’s shoulders and back in a classic suplex. The power and surprise of this blow would be enough to stun most men but Arc made sure not to injure him any more than that.
Arc would roll out of the pile. And stand up giving the man a couple of seconds or a minute to regain composure if he wished. Arc had learned many different fighting styles from the different worlds he had been to. This one wasn’t too characteristic of the ninja way, but if it scored a hit and especially if it could stun or even deliver a killing blow with enough power, then the attack had its place in the right situation.
Arc would stand at ready, arms held loosely but prepared at his side as he now stood a good 4 meters from the man. Should the man stand up he would be only a couple meters from the center of the room like Arcanis was.
(Should this point be reached, since we did separate it would be an option to continue as you had stated in the last section of your post. Should you choose to do so…)
If the man chose to continue the attack Arc would raise his hands to approximated chin height, opened palms facing each other with a relaxed curl to his fingers. As the man got within range he would swing a blow at the man's chin. He would rotate his body to deliver the blow. As he did he would notice the right hook thrown by his sparring partner. It was fast. Arc’s rotation skewed the target of the punch slightly though. Instead of the temple, Arc would take the blow to his left cheek. The blow would be smart, but it was manageable. Should his own blow land they would be in a similar boat.
Arc wouldn’t stop though he would press the attack. With his right foot, he would kick a destabilizing blow to the outside of his opponents left leg just below the knee. It was a chopping kick not meant to break but to weaken the leg. He immediately followed it with a high snap kick to the right side of his opponent's head. Again a blow designed to stun not to maim. Finally, with a quick twist on his left foot, Arc used the snapping retraction of his last kick to rotate nearly 360 degrees to deliver a side push kick to the man's chest. The blow might hurt as its goal was to knock the man sprawling backward.

Re: Dusting off the cobwebs (Arc and Kizmaru)

It seems things wouldn't go as planned as he had hoped it would for Kizmaru as he would liked. Even though he adjusted his left arm's position in order to successfully block the incoming strike from his opponent however, as he began to move his left arm into place, Kizmaru had also started to raise his right leg in order to guide his knee into his opponent's lower abdomen for a mutual exchange. Due to being hit as he raised one his legs, Kizmaru had been knocked off balance briefly, forcing him to stumble backwards a meter away from his opponent. As he stumbled back, he regained his composure by stomping his right foot on the ground briefly, catching his balance before back stepping on his own accord in order to keep his opponent in vision and anticipate his next move. From what he could gather, his opponent was attempting to move behind him in order to perform some kind of maneuver. Kizmaru figured he couldn't let that happen as it would put him at a major disadvantage. He continued to travel backwards another meter as to prevent his opponent from getting behind when regaining his balance.
Planning his next move, Kizmaru readied himself as he watched his opponent attempt to move behind him but alas he was playing a risky game. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that he fumbled that counter strike of his earlier didn't pan out so well but at the same time, if it did, he would have had the upper hand by now. Well, no matter. He had to make the best of the situation even if it was the worst possible outcome or so he was taught growing up in the village hidden in the mist. He wasn't the most adept at Taijutsu but he knew a thing or two about how to defend himself up close. Now that he was in a better position than before, he decided this was a good time to call it quits. "Whew, what a workout, huh? Well, I think this is a good dime to end it on. We should do this again sometimes Arcanis. Keep it up and I know you'll do fine in the village. I have to head out now and probably train with others or something. I may have a mission to run later if you're interested in coming with me. When it's time, I'll come find you, ya hear? Until then, take care of yourself buddy."
With that, Kizmaru relaxed himself from his stance before giving the male a small smirk. He then turned to walk towards the entrance of the sparring room that he had came through. Placing his hands into his pockets, he continued to walk towards the exit of the building. Reflecting on the exchange he had with Arcanis, he figured he'd be a good fit for the village. After speaking with him in the office and exchanging blows with him in the training facility, he could feel some of the worry he had about taking refugees in as citizens. All he could do now was hope that he would continue to grow and eventually become a great assist to the village in the future. For now, he would just head back to his favorite restaurant to grab a bite to eat and debate on what he should do for the rest of the day.

As soon as his first blow landed he knew something was up. The young man he was fighting stumbled backward and seemed ill equipped to recover from the basic attack. It just seemed off. The weak blow required quite a bit of recovery that Arc just waited for his opponent to regain his composure. He had backpedaled multiple meters now and Arc was wondering if he had done real damage to him. He had tried to pull that punch. Strangely enough, the man Called out to Arcanis that after the one blow he had had enough. But the man’s voice held no sign of weakness or fatigue. This concerned Arc. Had he gotten what he came for? Had he made a mistake all together? He suddenly seemed eager to call a close to the fight. And his excuse was lacking even more than his fighting spirit. Arc would remember this man he seemed not all there. Maybe he was just over worked. Something clicked with Arcanis. The man must have an incredible eye for talent if he needed to only witness that much of a fight. But something else that stuck out. Here in this village of rules and regulations that were followed to a T, why would another ninja be offering him a mission, so casually like this? Arc had many questions and only one answer.
“Sounds good. Let me know when that mission is. I am eager to help out the village in any way I can.” Arc saluted the man with a crisp sharp pound of one foot, bringing his elbows into his sides with arms perpendicular to the floor, fists clenched palm up. “Osu!” Arc knew it meant little to the man probably. A martial arts instructor once taught his student to salute this way on one of the worlds he had once visited. It was a sign of respect and the conclusion of the match. Many martial arts followed these principles so Arc was sure it wasn’t out of place.
“Have a great day Kizmaru,” Arc said to the retreating form as it strolled out the exit. Arc meant it. He had no malice or ill will of any kind. In fact, he was amused. It was a rare thing these days meeting someone that fired him up. Arc would also head home for the night. He had learned all he would today.
