Recovery Training [solo] Empty Recovery Training [solo]

Thu Apr 23, 2020 4:54 pm
Arc stepped into the massive training facility, his small bag of personal belonging lightly patting his back with each step.  The training facility was quite a high tech marvel.  It would be use full in retraining his body for the days to come.  He put his things down and started with some simple stretches.  Sitting on the ground Arcanis reached his arms down to grasp the bottom of his left foot and stretched down.  He breathed in deeply while pulling tight on his leg as he released his breath he sank even further into the stretch his body resting comfortably on his thighs.  He slowly sat up and leaned again over the other leg.  Repeating the process he breathed and endured the pain of his muscles.  It felt like he hadn’t used them in a long time.  It was very odd but those kinds of thoughts needed to be put from his mind.  He knew how to train and how to heal.  He would just have to weather the storm.  Laying back he arched his back placing his hands on the ground above him and rolled back up to a standing position.  He placed one arm over his head and pulled with his opposite arm.  Arc knew that stretching was important.  Especially before the masterpiece of a workout, he had planned for himself.  He Stretched his other arm and then his back. neck and ankles.  Let’s get to work.

Arc headed for a simulation room that would digitally reproduce an environment for him to train in.  Arcanis chose a Silencing device a simple neural adapter that allowed the projection to be just in his head.  He laughed.  It reminded him of one plain boring world he had visited once.  People valued a set of devices like this that they paid top dollar so they could make sure no one else could hear their music.  But Arc knew in this situation it was best for him to keep the images and noises of his training to himself.  Not because of the difficulty he was sure he would have, but because of the Images, he would likely be unable to keep out of his head and therefore the augmented reality training environment.  Arcanis Activated the device and the plain room faded replaced with a forest environment.

Arc remembered the forest he was in immediately.  It was one that he grew up in.  He hadn’t thought about it in a long time.  He wondered why he was thinking of it now.  It probably had something to do with the training facility creating a challenge for its users.  But it didn’t realize it was preying on an old pain of Arc’s.  He felt the old emotions or the supposed lack of emotions that he felt back then.  “Man I was such a Loser”   The forest drew itself in around Arcanis as he walked through the glade.  It was a beautiful day outside the forest, but here the air was filled with a charge of danger.  He loved adventure and the thrill of danger.  Arcanis saw that the projection had put him in some of his old training robes on this excursion.   Under his robes, he wore black shoes, black pants, and a black sleeveless shirt.  Arcanis had loved black.  it had suited him.  He had been an edgy teen thought far too highly of himself.  He usually kept his hands in his pocket and seemed to stare off into the sky when not engaged in something.  he carried a silver pocket watch with him at all times.  it was his father's.  he had been given it the day his father had died. Why was the projection picking such random details?

Arcanis doesn't like people. Everything is a tool to be manipulated. Fear, revenge, hatred these things are always on Arcanis's mind.  Arcanis doesn't have a lot of friends.  Nobody seemed to like his attitude.  He didn't care.  All those people would just get in the way of his goal. A girl once tried to reach out to him.  What was her name?  It didn't matter because Arcanis didn't care at the time to remember it.  He wished he had.  He pushed people away.  Preferred to go out alone on his own adventures.  Didn’t even say goodbye to anyone before he went traveling.  He just vanished one day to everyone here.  And now they were gone.  His realization came far too late.   Erin?  Arcanis wasn't sure why he was trying to remember this girl.  The one with the beautiful smile.  Arcanis shook his head and walked deeper into the forest.  He soon found that he had lost his way.  Walking one way only to find he was back in the same place.  He walked in circles for quite a long time.   He just enjoyed the peaceful walk through the lost woods.  After hours of hiking and navigating the dense woods, Arcanis trekked through the underbrush and soon caught a reflected beam of light off something in the distance.  Arcanis wasn't here on accident.  He suddenly remembered that the forest he was in held more than just a sense of unease.  It housed a  legend.  It was here that Arcanis had found a sword of amazing power.  One that controlled even the passage of time.  Arcanis reached the clearing and saw a blade sticking out of a stone pedestal.  Some legends called the blade The Master Sword others called it Excaliber.  Every iteration in the texts he read claimed the sword was magical and possessed enormous power.  He had read stories of this blade since he was a kid.  Arcanis didn't have a very easy or happy childhood.  Arc's parents were killed on the first day of his ninja academy training by a bomb planted in their house. Everyone was surprised when he showed up to school the next day.   His silence and observational skills soon turned to wisdom and he lost his cold edge.  As cold as the edge on the sword in front of him. sword.

The blade shone brightly in the ray of light that pierced the canopy of trees striking the pedestal directly.  The entire woods seemed to hold this small glade as a mother would her child and the Pedestal in the center gave off a powerful sense of magic.  Arcanis seemed almost drawn to the blade.  Gripping the sword he wondered if she would even be able to draw it from the stone.  The question was dismissed as the blade slid easily from its ancient home.

Suddenly Arcanis was surrounded by Chakra.    Suddenly Arcanis stood before a huge Rampaging creature.  Arc recognized him as most in this world would.  It was a being of power equal to a natural disaster.  The forest had fallen away and the entire world was just a wash of white.  Arcanis was hit by a powerful force.  “WHO DARES ADDRESS ME.  YOU PUNY HUMAN REMOVE YOURSELF FROM MY PRESENCE AT ONCE”  the voice was dripping with malice and the sword in Arc's hand became heavy.  Arc knew this was the reason he had used the neural projector in the first place.  He would have to answer many questions as to why this was the being that would emerge from his head when doing light training.  But the thing was that he couldn’t do light training.  The essence of who he was had been ripped away when he returned to this world.  No mere normal training would be enough to fix whatever was wrong with him.   Arcanis adjusted his grip and steeled his will.  “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THAT CAN SPEAK TO ME  IN SUCH A MANNER, BEAST?”  Arcanis growled back at the power coming from beyond the gate.  “HUMAN I COULD KILL YOU IN ONE SWIPE AND EAT YOU TILL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT.”

Arcanis brandished his sword preparing his soul for this encounter.  The beast would not kill him this day.  “SO YOU CHOOSE TO FIGHT?..... HOHOHO FINE!”

The world rocked as the enormous power emerged from the darkness inside the door.  A massive red Fox with 9 lashing tails stood before Arcanis.  One of it's shining teeth was the same height as the boy that stood before him.  'this is true power' Arcanis thought.  Hefting his sword and pulled power from the chaos around him.   His eyes glowed and gave off an aura of power.  “SOOO YOU ARE NO MERE HUMAN AFTER ALL.”  The blade in Arc's hand ceased being heavy and became a part of his being.  “NO, I AM NOT”

An outsider who cared enough to look in on him would see a young boy. That’s what Arc still looked like, even though he was actually now almost a century old.  Time works in odd ways especially in the gaps between worlds.  His muscles now glisten with sweat after being at it for several hours now.  The room would be soundless save the heavy grunts and breathing coming from Arc as he twirled and leaped attacking with an invisible sword.  But the battle was all too real.

The blade in Arc's hand granted him the power to contest the massive beast and the knowledge of Space/Time jutsu gave him the advantage.  Using temporal jutsus Arc was able to increase his speed enough to dodge and weave through the flurry of massive shockwaves and flashing claws and fangs.  When he had an opportunity he would lay his strength into a strike of Excalibur into the flesh of the monster he fought.  It was merely a representation of the actual beast but Arc wouldn’t have the time to work out the mechanics to the projector he wore.  He knew that the projection wouldn’t actually be able to hurt him, but Arc had to keep it real, or else he wouldn’t push himself.  Arc leaped directly at the head of the beast seeing his own reflection in the eyes of the demon.  With a smirk, Arc opened a jiso sliding trough with his full momentum now on the other side of the fox’s head.  However, his blow didn’t land as he was swatted aside by a massive tail.  “YOU THINK I CAN’T SENSE YOU BOY?  YOU THINK I AM INCAPABLE OF DEFENDING YOUR PUNY ATTACKS AS IF FROM A FRUIT FLY?”  The forest became a whirlwind of debris And Arc lept from stone to tree to stone resisting the wind as best he could.  The Massive gale subsided and Arc felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.  With little thought, Arc lifted his hand and created a jiso above himself and outstretched his arm toward his foe creating another.  The Bolt struck down from the gather storm clouds through the portal and into Arcs target.  The beast snarled, having his Jutsu redirected at him.  The rains began to fall and the wind and lightning picked up even more.  The Fox spirit had summoned the mother of storms and Arc tried to prepare himself.  But how do you avoid everything?  Arc breathed and focused on the other half of his specialty.  He slowed his breathing and released a surge of chakra.  Everything slowed to a crawl.  Arc stepped aside as a bolt of lightning cracked the ground where he had stood.  The rain and gust of wind became a light mist and gentle breeze.  But something was wrong.  Arc noticed it again.  The beast's eyes were trained on him. He ran to the side to get a vantage but the beast followed him with a gaze that said: “I am not impressed.”   Arc felt the crushing paw of the beast suddenly slam him to the ground.  The clutched clawed paw weighing down his chest.  Arc Durability was never that good.  Taking a hit in a fight usually meant he lost the fight.  That’s why Arc learned to be very good at dodging attacks.  Seems he was even worse at that too.  Arc heard his own thoughts issue forth from the Beast’s mouth “You need to practice more, dodging isn’t enough.  You need to find a way to take a hit.”  Arc then had a thought that maybe it wasn’t just his own thoughts.  Maybe it was The training simulator giving him feedback.  Well, whatever it was it took the forest with it as Arc sat there panting.  Gathering his things he headed for the showers.  He still had a lot to work on but part of the training was also resting.  “Train the body, train the mind.  You must be fluent in attacking and defending both.”  An old teacher had told him that once.  It seemed obvious to Arcanis at the time but now Arc wondered if he had taken that for granted.  His mind has always been his strong suit.  But maybe he needed to work on his body more than he thought.  Thinking back to the fight he was just “in”  Arc thought

The Shower Felt so good.  The hot water turned the skin of his back red as it poured over his aching shoulders.  He had stretched but he knew he would be a bit sore in the morning.  He gathered his things after the first day of rigorous training.  He headed back to his room to sleep.  If he didn’t receive a mission soon he would have nothing to do but to go back and train some more.  He might take it easy on the simulator though.

Recovery Training [solo] Empty Re: Recovery Training [solo]

Sat Apr 25, 2020 4:59 pm
The explosion had destroyed his house. His tears mixed with the dirt on his face as he lay on the floor crying. He was only 12 and his parents had been killed in a random bombing. Arcanis sat there curled up on the cold ground heaving, unable to breathe. 'Why bother?' a dark voice deep inside his mind whispered. The fire squad took him away but he ran away when he had the chance. Nothing was going to tear him away from his parents. He returned to his house recalling the final thing his father had said to him that morning. His father had given him a pocket watch and told him that he was the heir to some mysterious legacy. His father looked distant before telling him that everything he was learning in school had a purpose and that everything his father had taught him was important. Arcanis walked to the shed behind his house. Pieces of his house were embedded into the side of the shed causing the door to stick as he pulled on it. The shed had been important. His father brought him to the shed for every important lesson he was taught. This shed was important to Arcanis. He had learned manners here. He had learned not to be mean to the village girls here. He had learned responsibility and also how to set a bait here. This shed was his and his father's meeting ground. Arcanis sat on the hard ground of the shed in front of the stool his father always sat on.

The first light of morning woke Arcanis to the frigid morning air. As he tried to huddle in the corner he felt the slightest hint of a flow of warm air from the corner. Upon inspection, Arcanis noticed an indentation in the shape of his family crest on the floor. He knew his father was about to teach him one last lesson. He pressed the watch that his father gave him into the crest and twisted it hearing the sound of tumbler triggering. He threw open the trap door only to find a bunch of papers and books. He picked up the one closest to him. “Hedatari” was the only word on the outside of the book. Arcanis realized what he had found. He had been a good student his whole life. His next lesson was one taught by a teacher long gone. The lesson of his clan. He opened the book and read for hours until he had finished the book and it was time to go to school. Today he was different though. He felt an energy surge around him. Today he was a new person.

Arc awoke in the darkroom where he had fallen asleep and dreamed of his childhood.  There was no time to dwell on it though.  The sun would be up in a couple of hours and he would lose an opportunity to train.  He collected his things including A training saber and returned to the training facility.  Today he would take a break from physical training and focus on weapon training.  Arcanis had always had an affinity for weapons, especially swords.  When he was a genin he had used his first full sword on a mission.  He had training with training swords but training swords held less weight and somehow didn’t feel the same.  Arc spun the practice blade around a bit as he walked to the building. He set his stuff in the person things area.  He wore his basic training clothes again, a loose shirt and pants allowing him full range of motion.  People had different thoughts about training.  This wasn’t practiced; it was full power all forward not holding back.  You can’t improve if you don’t push your limits.  Stepping into a holo training room he spoke loudly and clearly.  “Warmup level 5 intensity 4, Begin.”  The hologram was real enough even if it was projected the blow that landed on his blade a moment later was no less real.  Parrying the first blow up and coughing while striking up at the target zone Arc rolled to the left already analyzing movement patterns of the next probe.  A flurry of blows was blocked decisively as the Arc wielded the blade so deftly it was as if it was a part of him.

“Training scenario Alpha Lima Golf 386 Begin”  The room became a Wooded mountain that exists near Iwagakure. He began to head up the mountain.  At that moment two kunai came out of nowhere. One embedded itself in Arcanis's left shoulder effectively immobilizing it and the other sliced his leg slowing him drastically. Arcanis drew his sword deflecting 2 shurikens and another kunai. Arc closed his eyes for a brief moment and allowed power to be gathered into his eyes.  He opened his eyes which were now pitch black. Arcanis dove behind the tree hearing 4 more shurikens hit the tree. He hadn't figured out where the assailant was hiding. He scanned over the terrain finding 2 Bandit looking, ninja.  This was going to be hard with the damages he had taken.  Even though it was a simulation the probes still hurt when they hit. Arcanis took out two kunai and threw them at his attackers. Noticing some water in the simulation he hoped the designers took elemental jutsu into their design of the holo training room.  It would be a sucky design if they didn’t. Arcanis located one of his attackers again. He swirled his arms gathering the water into a large tube and flowed over to the assailant. It worked perfectly and Arc bent the force of the water pressure flooding through the gap, knocking the assailant off balance as Arcanis slid through riding the water. His sword was a flash but he wasn't quick enough. The sword bit into the log that was used as a substitution jutsu. Arcanis sent a burst of wind chakra through his sword slicing all the way through the log. Arcanis body flickered over to the opposing ninja and struck at him with his blade. The opponent grabbed Arcanis's hand and kneed Arcanis in the stomach. Arcanis flew back losing his grip on the sword. As he flew back he rotated to deliver a kick to the shoulder of the second attacker who chose that time to leap out and attack. The kick allowed Arcanis to regain his ground and jump off. He swung a punch at the first and dodged a punch from the second as he dispatched the first with a one-two combo. The second withdrew a chain and wrapped it around Arcanis' wrist pulling him off-balance. The foot found it's home in Arcanis' jaw as he flew backward. Arcanis was pissed. “What the hell?” Arcanis said as he slid slowly toward his sword. “We want you. Well, not all of you. Just your head. There has been a bounty placed on your head. Your own village hates you enough to want you dead.” Arcanis was thrown off.  The hologram seemed to be improvising.  Maybe trying to throw him off base.  Smart. No one cared about him enough to think he was in the way. Yes, he had power but he never used it destructively. This guy and his comrade probably just wanted his money. Arcanis grabbed his sword and flashed behind the guy holding the sword to his neck. “don't move.” Arc growled in his ear trying hard to be menacing. The ninja tried to flash out of his grip and Arcanis had no choice but to slit his throat. “these are rogue ninja's” Arcanis thought that rogue ninjas were stronger than this. Arcanis turned as a kunai whistled by Arcanis ears. Arcanis blocked the next two with his sword turning it at the flashing blade cut cleanly through the inferior blade, And dodged to the right as the next soared wide. The second pathetic fool decided to get back up. Arcanis smiled. He dropped his katana and ran at the nin dodging two kunai and flashing to right in front of the guy. Spinning around he crouched and kicked the jerk into the air. Crouching he shot into the air after him. Arcanis punched the nin in the side rotating and kicking him out over the water. As the ninja stood up on the water Arcanis flashed behind him. Water lashed up around the ninja's wrists and around his ankles.  This training exercise is over.  A swift elbow to the back knocked the simulacrum out and completed the training exercise. Arc walked over and picked up his discarded training blade.

Recovery Training [solo] Empty Re: Recovery Training [solo]

Mon Apr 27, 2020 1:34 pm
The training dummy fell to the floor in front of Arcanis. The fight was over. Arcanis has beaten the scenario soundly. He didn't even feel he had worked very hard. 'It's not worth your attention' Arcanis thought to himself. The voice in his head seemed to get stronger as he did. Many times Arcanis thought he was someone else. He tried talking to the voice in his head on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately, he was never answered.

He walked out of the training facility ignoring the thoughts in his head.  Arc had always suffered from secret darkness.  One that at one time had almost consumed him.  The voice was simply negative thoughts that gained power as he gained power.  The old saying goes “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”  It was hard to stave off the darkness when it's more and more in your power to feed it.  But Arc was vigilant.  He would simply keep training and using that power to shield him against the dark.

Arcanis took several tennis balls to the training room the next morning. Arc preferred to go when it was deserted at this time of day. It was fine though because Arcanis didn't want to be disturbed.  The voice in his head seemed to continue to grow whenever he was in a position of power.  Arc was worried he was developing a mental disease.  He had to suppress his power all the time so as to not disturb the other ninja.  Also it let him train while letting his mind wander to the lessons of the past.  Arcanis tossed the balls into the air and one by one as they bounced he would open a portal like a wormhole, jutsu that he had developed, under them, and have the other side drop the ball from much higher up. This caused the ball to bounce higher. He continued this process with each of the balls, juggling them without even touching them. It reminded him of his days so long ago.

In his bouts in the academy, he didn't want to show off his skills to the other kids.  He trained on his own deep in the forest away from prying eyes.  Why would he show off the skills that made him exceptional when the normal skills he had were still better than the other kids.  Ever since he was young he had a knack for time and space jutsu.  He could manipulate his chakra to run and perceive the world faster.  It was actually kind of lonely living in a slow-mo world.  He had once fought with a kid because his ability to socialize with people didn’t come as naturally.   He felt bad for the kid he beat up now but at that time he was too oblivious to figure out basic social cues.

Arc continued to manipulate the tennis balls changing their angle of momentum and velocity by rotating the angle the balls entered and exited the portals.  Increasing the speed by letting them fall farther without changing their velocity normal.  Arc opened his Ocular jutsu to amplify his ability to calculate the trajectories and precise placements for his portals.  He began a dance of sorts that he had invented.  It was almost a meditation technique that he had invented.  The technique he used to manipulate the tennis balls he began to use on himself.  He dropped through an opening big enough to accommodate his body and slipped into a free fall.  While still controlling the tennis balls at the same time Arc kept himself and the 3 balls in a point of stasis traveling around the room like electrons around an atom.  While in this state of pure control Arc let his mind go back again.

The kid had come back after he had beaten him. “Go away. I don't have time for you.” Arcanis had said, turning away from the boy. He was taken off guard when the boy attacked him from behind. “you lousy little punk making me look bad in front of my friends.” The boy was furious. Arcanis wished he could remember his name. Arcanis picked himself off the floor and took a deep breath. He thought it was very odd that this kid had been so nice in class but so mean right now. “It's time you stop thinking you're so high and mighty.” The boy rushed at Arcanis swinging his fist hard. Arcanis was ready for him though. As the punch fell Arcanis opened a portal in front of him. Just like the tennis balls he was manipulating now except instead of high above the floor, Arcanis formed his exit next to the floor. The result was a howling cry from the boy who attacked him as he had broken his hand on the floor next to him. Arcanis punched the boy in the jaw. He could feel all the vigorous training he had given his body as he lifted the boy off his feet. Arc's bloodlust lashed out in his mind and he realized that it had been himself speaking in his head all along.  The little wuss landed on his back unconscious. Arcanis walked from the room gripping his head.

Twisting and flipping through the air, Arc landed on the solid ground once again.  His memories Kept him company when he was lonely.  Which he realized he was happening more lately.

Recovery Training [solo] Empty Re: Recovery Training [solo]

Tue Apr 28, 2020 1:44 am
What was the lesson his father once taught him about the sword?  His father had taught him a great deal of sword handling but it seemed that his father had kept secrets. He had his father's katana that was retrieved from the wreckage of his family's house. It was an heirloom and now a priceless keepsake to Arcanis. With his new sword, he began practicing the forms his father had shown him. He drew the sword close to his body guiding it along his body to become accustomed to the contour of his body.

“When striking an enemy your sword becomes fully extended.” His father stood before him pointing a training wooden sword at him showing the extended arms. “when you defend, you defend close to your body to focus your muscle power.” his father brought the sword in close demonstrating the proper form. His father raised his sword to begin their training. Arcanis saluted his father the way he was taught. Then he lunged at his father who turned his blade aside easily. His father counters attacked. The stroke was not fast but the power was felt as Arcanis blocked with his own sword. “Remember when you fight it requires less energy to turn an attack aside than to block the attack entirely.”

The Lesson Had stuck with Arc all this time.  He had mastered swordsmanship in the long periods of exploring reality.  He had traveled to many dimensions and had honed and tempered not only his sword skills but also his mind and his personality.  When he left this place he was a spoiled little kid who wanted nothing but world domination and all the riches and power he could physically contain.  Now he was much different.  Though still, powerful power is not what satisfied him anymore.  Since he was effectively immortal he could win every fight he was ever in if he merely outlived his opponent.  That was what his blade was for now.  To preserve life. Mainly his own.

It reminded him of the world he has visited.  The world wasn’t particularly advanced.  But they had developed a mystic art much like this world's jutsu.  It was called magic.  It stemmed from ley lines on the planet.  Along those lines, a mage could summon a massive amount of energy and use it to devastating effects.  The power in that world, however, depended entirely on how close you were to that ley line.  Arc was able to completely conquer that world due to his ability to perform his jutsu wherever he was.  Additionally, he learned their magic fairly easily and using his ability to fold space he was able to bring ley lines into battle. This was especially useful being the inhabitants in the world tended to build their cities as far from leylines as they could.  Arcanis soon became their god.  But he outlived them all and soon Arcanis became bored with that world and moved on.  But that is a story for another day.

Still feeling like he wasn’t up to fighting shape and feeling a little sad that he couldn’t access some of his higher-powered moves, Arc intensified his training.  Using his portals he practiced throwing kunai at himself and catching them.  This trained his speed and reaction time.  It also trained strength as he attempted to push himself even harder.  A blade shot out of the spatial gap a little faster than he anticipated and struck him in the forearm of his throwing hand.  Arc didn’t even wince.  He pulled the knife out and examined his wound.  It was bad but it was just a flesh wound.  I guess it was time to head to the hospital.  Arc didn’t know any healing techniques but he figured that the hospital dealt with these kinds of wounds all the time.  The village seems a bit on the more dangerous side.  Though he supposed that had always been the case.  Kirigakure was no threat to Arc but he knew it was a good idea to be aware of how he was supposed to view things as others did.  He occasionally lost track of his humanity but that was his price to pay.

Recovery Training [solo] Empty Re: Recovery Training [solo]

Wed Apr 29, 2020 7:17 pm
It took Arc a couple of Days more to be able to fight properly again after injuring his arm.  He spent the days still at the training center, however.  He wanted to make it a habit of being there so as long as he continued to go he would have less hesitancy to go.  So even with his arm in the state that it was in he would reserve a meditation room there.  Going in the morning as per the norm he would sit cross legged and extend his neck and back as tall as he could.  Centering himself he would close his eyes and gather his chakra.  This kind of training would allow him to open his chakra paths and strengthen them.  It was like muscle training but for your chakra.  He did this most days before bed and when he woke up.  But with his arm out of commission, he would work a little more intently today on his reserves of chakra.

He bent his mind to opening and manipulating his chakra while he also put thought towards another journey he had made.  One that had also been a test of his chakra though there it was named psynergy. Psynergy was the energy that could affect the physical world.  People used it to move objects from a distance, summon waves of fire, or plasma of other elements.  It was embodied in small creatures that would accompany people on adventures and increase their Psynergy limits.  It really wasn’t all that different from here.  Arc missed being on adventures.  Perhaps when he was healed and back to his full potential in this place, he would return to traveling the cosmos.

Like many other places, he had retrieved a sword of great power from that world as well.  A powerful blade is known as Sol Blade.  It had a legend behind it that it was wielded by a young man who used it to slay a 3 headed dragon with the power of meteors. It was a powerful sword and it was one of his vast collection.  Unfortunately, a lot of his collection was locked away in a special dimension that he had created himself. The castle in the sea of sand.  In that place, he had created a kingdom, and one day he will return to his throne.  But at the level he was at he might be a long time away from his home.  Arc could almost taste the dry air and smell the sand and twilight of that world.  He could feel his chakra system becoming used to the amount of chakra he was steadily releasing.  He thought of this exercise like learning to hold your breath.  But kinda in reverse.  The longer he forces his body to accept the overflow of the chakra he was forced out, the quicker it would respond and more natural the level of chakra consumption would be.

Arc pictured being back in his castle once more.  He would approach the location where the stairs normally were.  And as he took a step forward the stairs began to manifest under his feet.  When he thought of something it would just happen in that dimension.  Walking into the main foyer he could see far down the hallway.  The floors had thick lush rugs covering a cold polished stone floor.  He never really had any need for servants.  Whenever he thought of something here it would happen. So if the trash piled up he would just imagine it had never existed in the first place.  Things were always clean and in their proper place.  Nothing ever broke and in fact when things weren’t needed they just stopped being.  He had spent many centuries reading books in his library.  He had become knowledgeable on nearly every fact in the known universe at one point or another.  The thing about his library was that is contained books from not just all places in the universe but all times as well.  He might read a book on the possibility of monsoon in the desert of a far off-planet.  Or the rise of a hated tyrant in the world he currently resided.  The thing was those books were possible timeline in a literally infinite amount of identical worlds.  As much detail as the books could give on a certain subject it was still no guarantee that it would ever happen.  So his knowledge though founded in facts was never absolutely accurate.  But that was how Arcanis chose to live his life.  He would spend an eternity reading and familiarizing himself with a single topic.  Only to become thoroughly uninterested in that topic a millennia later.

Arc chuckled to himself slightly bringing him out of his daydream.  The people he had met here in this version of this world would not be able to understand the complexities of Arc’s life.  they would laugh and scoff or simply tell him it was impossible.  But it truly was possible.  Arc shrugged and stood.  He flexed his arm slightly to see where he was at in the healing process.  It was coming along.  If Arc had access to his Castle the wound would be gone by now.  Erased from existence like so much trash.  It would happen one day though.  He would return.  But this time he would bend the might he possessed to doing good.  He might even try his hand at running a village.  Maybe.  It was to early to tell.  He might end up being exiled from this place once again.  The flow of time is a fickle and unrelenting mistress.

Heading out of the training facility for the time being Arc sought out something to do maybe an adventure into the surrounding islands for a change of scenery.  He was told by Kurokabi to pick up a hobby.  He had never tried anything.  But since it was an island maybe he would try his hand at fishing.  He had read about it, it just never felt like a good idea.  Eh, what could it hurt?

Recovery Training [solo] Empty Re: Recovery Training [solo]

Fri May 01, 2020 3:35 pm
Several days passed while training his chakra and daydreaming of the past.  It was easier for Arc to remember than it was for him to plan.  But today was the day he set actual goals and to start down the path to actually following through with them.  The first thing he was already working on.  Getting back to fighting fit was imperative.  Once he could utilize all the skills he used to have he would be able to start crafting jutsu once more.  He was using his current jutsu with some trouble but if he was able to retrieve his lost power not only would he be able to construct and train new jutsu.  But that was not his only goal.  Learning and researching the jutsu that was currently being practiced in this world at this time would be a little easier than making totally new ones.  Something he would eventually definitely do.  But designing new jutsu would require him to return to the castle.

However, the new jutsu was not his only goal in the castle.  He also needed to return there to find his old friend.  Arc had made friends with a ninja creature back when he was very young in this world.  His name was Kameron and he was a ninja animal.  They weren’t uncommon here but Arc had spent long hours training Kameron and the little guy was still in the castle.  Arc had left him there because time didn’t pass in the castle. And by that, it was very confusing.  See outside the castle time progressed normally in a linear way. In the castle, an eternity could pass in the breadth of a moment in this world.  But at the same time while in the castle time would not flow outside it either.  It sounded like a paradox, but Arcanis shaped it that way for a reason.  It allowed him to preserve anything within the castle while he was away but while he was there he could spend as much time as he wished training and reading without fear of losing everything in the outside world to the decay of time.  So Arc knew right now Kameron was just as he left him.  He just needed to find his way back.  Once he did that he needed to find a way to contact an old friend of his in a far off world.  He would find a way to bridge the gap so he could summon his friend and his entire race to this one.  He had made a contract with them… well more like a promise.  If he ever found a new world to inhabit and was ever in need he would be able to call upon them.

So that was another goal that he needed to attack.  He supposed something else was important that he should devote time to.  That was the village.  He needed to complete as many missions and tasks as he could as quickly as he could.  Getting in the good graces of the Kage would allow him to move more freely in this world.  He had meant what he had said to the kage but he knew it was only a matter of time before he would need to travel around this land.  He would take jobs that led him out of the village.  But it was in an attempt to become strong.  The strongest.  And this one little village would only be big enough for him for so long.  Once he could travel he would learn more and find a place in this world.  He would develop ultimate jutsu and become the most powerful hermit this world had ever known.

Arc’s focus on his training reached a peak. The simple exercises and routines he did while thinking was very cathartic and when his mind hit this point the adrenaline flowed like a river.  But his end goal was not to take over the world.  He had no need for underlings or worshipers.  He did not want anything of the sort.  He didn’t want to run the world or fix its problems.  He wanted to learn everything he possibly could from it, and once he had absorbed all the knowledge he could from this world he would move on to another world.  Arc had done this many times before.  Sometimes it took him millennia to gain the knowledge he needed.  Some worlds he arrived in would not be advanced enough to contain anything of major use.  However, in those worlds, he would end up analyzing their resources and taking some of it with him.  He had run across a world one time that was in a state of so much decay that the major populace were cannibal bandits bent on slaughter.  However, the world had a strange unique mineral that held many properties including ones that caused mutation and even allowed it to store energy.  Arc had ripped the planet apart mining the valuable mineral.

So he was eager to see what materials he could find here on this planet.  It would allow him to develop his powers further.  Using these materials he would be able to craft new weapons and possibly even improve his armory.  Which reminded Arc, it was another reason he needed access to the castle again.  His armory of weapons right now was out of reach.  He looked down at the sword in his hand that he was practicing his forms with.  It was a simple sword that could barely cut anything.  He had weapons in the castle that could cut the fabric of the universe itself.  Some of the weapons in his armory were there because they were powerful, but some were there because they were a threat.  Blades like that could cause catastrophes.  So Arcanis took them.  He locked them away where no one was able to find them and abuse them.  Sometimes he had to do that to people too.  But that was neither here nor there.  Those were his “long term” goals.  He had some milestone he intended to hit along the way.  He would open a shop to produce an income above that he could get from doing missions in the village.  That would produce merit as it would give him a reason to visit other villages.  If he was able to set up a market for something that would create a demand in the ninja world.  He had ideas but he needs the materials so it wasn’t a big deal in the short term.  Additionally, Arc might take a wife and raise a child to carry on the Hedatari name.  But again it was not something he put a lot of priority in.  He had tried the Wife and child thing before.  But losing them to the flow of time made him hesitant to try again.  Love and commitment were emotions that Arc had never mastered and each time he thought it would be different.  So instead he usually just opted out of heartbreak and kept everyone distant.

The training dummy lay defeated once again.  He reset the program to begin again.  He felt the swelling of his skills and health to a point where he might actually return to what he was capable of soon.  He leveled the blade at the training dummy and took up and old stance it was that of an old master of the sword.  He had also mastered an ancient art of tapping into a higher power.  Arc sword was held in front of him but lowered pointing ahead and at the ground.  Arc pretended that he could sense the power that the master had described to him.  He had never developed an affinity for it but the sword style was another thing entirely.  There was no form or technique of the blade that Arc could not master.  The training dummy advanced and struck at Arc a horizontal slash from his right side.  Arc raised his blade, still pointed at the ground to parry the blow.  His foe twisted and attacked from the left, but with little movement arcs blade caught the attack cleanly repelling the advance.  But the attacker threw another blow to the same side.  This time instead of parrying Arc swept his sword in an arc and batted the attackers blade away with ferocity, and followed it with a shoulder to shoulder sweep of his own weapon.  The training dummy bent over backward to dodge the blow springing back into a one handed backflip.  Arc pursued keeping up his tenacious attack dropping an overhead blow bringing the defender to his knee.  It pressed up against him giving it a moment to attack.  It swiped at Arc’s legs But Arc was already leaping to avoid the attack flipping and rotating in the air to land behind the dummy and swung a decapitating blow that was dodged with a forward roll.  The dummy lept to its feet and swung the blade back at Arc as it turned, keeping Arc at a distance.  The dummy raised it’s sword above his head as if to bring it down on Arc’s head and kept the stance as it edged closer.  Arc fell back into his first stance with the tip of his blade pointing out and toward the floor.  Arc also moved closer, finally raising his blade quickly when the training dummy was close enough to attempt an attack.  Angling his blade to the side arc followed his parry with a shoulder check.  Knocking the mechanical fighter off balance but not to the ground.  Arc thrust his blade at the dummy’s chest.  His blade was batted away as the dummy regained its footing just before being impaled.  Arcs blade became a snake slithering and striking with thrusts and slashes as he drove the AI controlled opponent back against his sudden ruthlessness.  Finally, Arc got a solid thrust through the shoulder of the dummy's sword arm.  A living opponent would have lost its grip and surrendered but the training dummy still attacked, swinging the blade in from the side again.  Arc caught the hilt of his opponent's blade with his left hand.  In a fluid movement, Arc twirled under the robot’s arm drawing his blade through the maneuver severing the arm it was attached to.  The droid's arm fell away from the sword still gripped by Arc.  Arc spun around quickly landing several blows with both swords.  The hunk of scrap dematerialized with its word as the training scenario ended.

Recovery Training [solo] Empty Re: Recovery Training [solo]

Arc sat and reflected on his recovery so far.  He had been making incredible progress and he was almost at the point of having his full power back.  Taking a seat he began to meditate.  Memories of his past had weighed heavily on his during this phase of his training.  his life had been quite remarkable up until now.  With his ability to travel literally anywhere he wanted in the blink of an eye, gave him an Idea of a new technique he would start training soon.  He sighed and focused on his body.  The damage from hurting himself was all but healed.  He had much of his physical strength coursing through his veins as well as a renewed feeling of belonging here in the village.  His soul felt nourished.  He stood up and wondered what his future might hold.

He sheathed his blade and gathered his things from his locker. they felt heavy as if they had new meaning   From now on his training would be done in the field.  He wondered how much he could accomplish in his current rush of motivation.  Leaping out over the village Arc pushed his speed to the max.  He needed to feel the wind and the rain on his face as his heart sought the horizon.
