"You still have a lot to learn," Tanji said, shaking his head before stalking off to collect Genki. For one who once held a position of political power, Valen knew worryingly little of how to cultivate an image. If he wanted people to follow him, then he couldn't just go around punching away his problems, even if said problems carried a sword and killer intent. Tanji, of all people, knew all too well that it didn't work that way no matter how hard you hit.

With Genki now over his shoulder and his belongings under his arm, Tanji returned to the white-haired boy and his strange request. Teleportation? Such an odd, dangerous way to travel. And yet, the jounin was not one to turn down a challenge, for surely that was just what this was. So, without so much as a second thought, the large man took a leap into the abyss and clamped a large hand onto the boy's shoulder.

It would be so easy to snap his neck right now, the small voice in his head whispered once more and, for one frightening moment, Tanji agreed, it would be easy.

But then, just like that, both the voice and Tanji himself disappeared.
