Well, things have suddenly taken a turn over the last few days.

With no time to greave over the loss of Kotetsu, Hikari had been asked to transport the genin of Hoshigakure to Konoha for the a joint chunin selection exam. The Nova Opperative wished she had been told of this a few days earlier, or she wouldn't of held the second part of the chunin selection battle exam. Well, to late to take that back now.


The Deputy Kage would await for Massashi, the only Genin that she was to escort to the exams now.

Another day for the Uzumaki Genin. This day though was different; he’d receive a notice the day before advising him that he would be moving on to the next part of the Chuunin Exams. He wasn’t as ready as he’d hoped, but at the very least it would be a great opportunity for him to improve. The next part of the exams were to take place in Konoha, located in Fire Country. That would require him to actually gather things for a trip, since it was unclear as to how long he would be gone for. Since it was also unclear as to what they would need to do while they were there, Masashi would pack a little heavier than he normally would. A very basic tent and bedroll, a couple changes of clothes, some non-perishable rations. Basic medical supplies would be important too, especially if he ran out of chakra at some point. All of his regular ninja tools he would store in one of his weapon pouches. The other pouch had been specially modified. Inside were 6 different compartments, each was currently empty, but that would change, as Masashi had completed his learning of harnessing Explosion release. He could create special clay be combining Explosion release chakra into earth. It would not last long without a proper place to store it, so he converted one of his pouches to suit that task. Oh his way to the village gates, he would pick up a handful of dirt and start moulding it into a brick, it slowly lost all colour until it was pure white. At that point, Masashi would divide the brick into four pieces, and placing them all into the second of the six spaces in the pouch. He could already feel the drain on his reserves from creating those four pieces of clay. With a shrug he would finish the trek to where he was meeting his chaperone for the trip.

As he arrived at the gates, he picked up some sand from along the road and moulded it into a ball as he walked towards where he could see Hikari Namikaze standing. He’d had a feeling that it would be her, but it was nice to confirm that information. He hadn’t seen her since his visit to the Hokage’s office. As he got within speaking distance, he would wave at her with one hand before taking pieces of the ball of clay, rolling them into marble-sized pieces, and placing them in the 6^th partition of his weapon pouch until there were 20 in that slot. “Hello Hikari.” He would say to the Deputy Kage. “It is nice to see you again. This will be my first time to Konohagakure, so I’m curious to see how different or similar it is to our village. Are we waiting on anyone else to arrive?” As he was the lower-ranked shinobi, she would most certainly be taking the lead for the time that they are not in the village.

Hikari would greet Massashi as he approached her. As for his question, she would explain that it was just the two of them making the trip, but she had placed a mark seal on a few civilians that she would need to summon once in Konoha.

The girl would then go into her bag, pulling out an earing with various fuinjutsu designs on it, explainging that this was an earing of swiftness, and allow him to either catch up her surpass her in speed when it comes to their travels.

With that, the girl would ask if Massashi had any questions, and presuming he didn't, turn to exit the village.

So it was just to be them and them only. A tad disappointing to the Uzumaki Genin as he was hoping there would be more representation among the village. "Just me? That's a shame. Oh well." He said to her with a shrug. "I guess there's no point in standing here waiting then."
 
Before they did leave though, Hikari reached into her bag and pulled out an earring with various fuinjutsu designs on it and offered it to him. It was the same earring he'd seen in that ornate box that was on her desk when they'd played the game. She said it was a piercing of swiftness, something that would allow him to move faster. Masashi gratefully accepted. "Thank you, I will use it well." He said to her, replacing a piercing he had in his right ear. She then asked if he had any questions, to which he responded by shaking his head. With that, the two of them would leave the village.
 
As they left the village, Masashi would pick up some more dirt from the side of the road and infuse it with his chakra, creating yet more clay. This time he would break off pieces and roll them into slightly larger balls, placing then into the 2nd last slot of his pouch until there were 15 balls of the same size. by way of explanation, Masashi would look over at Hikari. "I've found that I can infuse my chakra into any kind of earth and create a type of clay that can be used as a base for explosion release. I have a few ideas, but nothing concrete on how to use it yet. I'm sure I can come up with something eventually." There was really nothing else that can be done right now other than heading to Konoha.
