The final attempt
Mon Sep 11, 2017 1:49 am
- The Mission:
- Mission Name: A Failure's Redemption
Rank:B
Type:Comabt/ Exam
Character Requirements: Tenma Ketsueki, Akemi Hiyu, Hikari Namikaze
Mission Location: Hoshigakure Arena
Word Count Requirements: -
Repeatable? no
NPC?no
Reward: 3k Ryo, 7 AP, ability to continue on to the third part of the hoshi Chunin exams, ability to not call yourself a failure anymore!
Task: Akemi and Tenma have both attempted the chunin battle exam twice, but they have failed on both occasions. It was kind of sad really. There proctor, (Hikari) tried to find someone so they could attempt the exam again, but no other genin are nearly close enough to be ready for the exam. As such, Hikari went to Akihana and requested that she be allowed to step in as the third competitor, Which Akihana allowed.
This exam will be done following the same rules as the first one with the following exceptions: Killing is not allowed under any circumstance: not just "The Intent to kill"
The exam will be proctored by the Ryoal Queen's Gaurd and Deputy Kage of the village hidden in the stars, Lord Kyousuke Snow. On top of that, While Hikari is allowed to surrender early if she deems the competitors strong enough to pass by themselves, but if Hikari just instantly surrenders to allow the two of them to get a free pass, she is subject to follow under punishment by Kyousuke Snow. (Most likely, to be forced to wear a nun outfit forever.)
- The Arena:
The arena is 300 meters from one side to the other, since Akemi decided to put audience members in the crowd, there will be members in the arena. The statue is of some sort of Idol of the Hoshi Religion. It stands at 30 meters in height and has 50 health. The rise in between the arena and the stands is 10 meters in height and has 40 health. The Arena stands go up to 50 meters above the arena. Also, all competitors start 100 meters away from each other. If there are any other questions, feel free to ask.
For the fifth time, Hikari Namikaze stepped into the arena, wearing her Jounin outfit, the one winged angel on her hip. A soft rain fell from the sky, as if the sky itself was showing pitty to the girl for howmany times she had to enter this arena. Once for her own Chunin exam, twice for others, once for Her Jounin exam, and now, once more in order to do battle. The girl would look around at the arena, the stands were completely empty. Prehaps this was for the best as this way, the chestnut haired girl didn't have to worry about concealing any of her techniques for onlookers to see. This time, there was no judges, the only person who was in the arena at this point was the recently appointed Hogokage, Kyousuke Snow. Thinking about it, perhaps it would of been a good idea for the girl to show the man something spectacular?
No, Probably not a good idea, Kyousuke and Hikari had just done battle, he already knew what sort of techinques she held up her sleeve. And going all out on mere genin? That seemed like a pretty petty thing to do. Not saying Hikari was planing to role over and just let the two Genin pass.
No, Hikari had every intention to make the two genin fight tooth and Nail for their ability to go to the next round. She planed to fight as hard as a gennin would who was desperately trying to climb the ranks and achieve their goal of chunin.... no, that isn't true, if the two had wanted that, they should of waited for another couple of weeks and tried again with another genin. No, this exam was now going to be much harder than it was before. If the two wanted to become chunin this badly, they were going to have to prove it in this ring.
Thinking about it..... didn't Hikari herself have to prove she was already a Jounin level fighter in order to rank up to Chunin? Before her exam had even begun, she had to fight with Shiroi Hiyu, a Jounin level ninja. The at the time genin girl might of lost that fight.... but being so close to defeating her showed that she was already at the level of a chunin.
And then came her own Chunin exam.
A raging Hyuga with a grudge, a sinister Chunin who had to intervene, a priestess, and A mythical dragon was what Hikari had to fight through, in order to pass this exam. Perhaps the girl couldn't replicate that now, but Hikari had every intention of making this exam as close to that as physically possible.
Making her way to the starting point, The Chestnut haired girl would patiently await for Akemi Hiyu and Tenma Ketsueki to enter the arena for what would be their final time. The two would either have to pass this time, or they would have to find another way to rank up, there would be no more chances.
TLDR: Hikari is awaiting you in the arena

Tenma walked one last time through the arena gates staring across the way at the lady who has more or less been his mentor, Hikari, he then waited fully equipped as if he was ready to fight to death in a war, a mask over his mouth and nose, and the headband proudly shown around his neck as usual, he looked more like a shinobi now , his earring and piercing with their special properties put in, he could feel them giving him power, he waited for any thing to respond to and would do so appropriately, or a sign to start this final exam (phone posts so may be short and may need some assistance for ap)

(well its been 5 days since my post, Akemi is in Limbo on dead or alive atm, and there was no request to hold off on waiting for a judgement, so hring hikari to get this started)
As Hikari just stood there and what felt like days passed, Tenma decided to get things started, first he would throw a Kunai in Hikari's Direction, even directly at Hikari, this could be dangerous at full power, then he would weave Handsigns for a rather nasty Jutsu of his, While Charging behind his Kunai, he flung the Kunai at full speed, and he was only running at half speed at the time (full speed for him at the moment due to starting his momentum), holding the last Handsign to be ready to release his technique when he needed it.
He would be fully equipped for this, his earring, and piercing , his mask even, his small arsenal, if one could even call it that, he was ready to prove himself, and nothing was going to get in his way this time.
However if he could reach ten meters away from Hikari before having to react to anything, He would summon Ice spears from the ground, one next to him, and One Under Hikari and simaltaniously with the other two, three more, one behind, and to both sides of Hikari, Almost forcing her to either jump or move foreward to avoid being pierced.
If this succeeded he would release his jutsu for it to activate, if not he would react accordingly.
(Will Calculate AP according to what is successful)

(Will post tonight, but first I was just making sure Kyousuke was cool for us starting without him starting us off. Second, I just wanted to make this post to confirm the jutsu power levels and AP Tenma used. Also, write them down so I don't have to do the math everytime I look at this thread.)

(Permision granted to continue by Kyousuke Snow)
It came to a little bit of a shock how long the recently instated Hogokage was taking to start the battle, but he was probably waiting on the still absent Akemi Hiyu to appear. It was quite currious that the boy hadn't arrived at the battle yet, prehaps he had been startled by the events that had happen with Valen not to long ago? Either way, it didn't matter, as Tenma lost his patience and would pull out a A kunai knife and sent it sailing through the air at Hikari at a speed and power of 105 and charged after it.
This came as quite the shock to the Akari, as she had trained Tenma multiple times, and everything the girl had taught him made her belive that the boy was a ranged fighter, and probably should try to keep his distance, but no. The boy was trying to close the distance, perhaps he had no techniques that could go as far as 100 meters? Hikari admitted that it would of been quite strange for A genin to be able to attack from that far.... or perhaps in the missions that Hikari had done with the Yuki, he pieced together that she was a ranged user, and felt like challenging a Jounin at their own game was not in his best interest? If this was a real fight, the obvious option for Hikari to pursue would be to just keep the boy at a long distance and never let him get close. However, this wasn't a real fight, so Hikari wouldn't do that. The Jounin was here test the Genin and allow him to show what he had to offer and to allow Kyousuke to get a better understanding as to whether or not this boy deserved the rank of Chunin or not, and just playing keep away like the girl usually wanted to do wasn't something that would allow the chestnut haired woman to get to those goals.
The Kunai Tenma threw would fly 52 and a half meters before falling to the ground, barely breaking half the distance between the two combatants, it seemed strange that the boy would attempt that, perhaps he had been hoping that Hikari would charge at him and cover that distance? Possibly, but anyways, The boy would of only covered a bit over 25 meters in this time (As he was going at a speed of 50 and the Kunai was going almost double that.) Hikari would of wait for the boy to go another 10 meters before she made her move.
As the boy made it 35 meters away from where he had started, and 65 meters away from Hikari, the chestnut haired girl would make her move. Pulling out her Shuriken, the girl would activate one of her favorite techniques, the "Wind gale force palm." She had perfected this jutsu so she didn't need to activate the hand signs, but what she did do was use her Mastery of Ninjutsu to push the jutsu's power to its absolute limit. The jutsu would cause a gust of wind to blast from the girl, going out 5 meters at a power of 89 and a speed of 49. The Burst of wind only went out 5 meters, but before it could go out that far, Hikari would throw her shuriken into the wind (The speed of the shuriken is 115, the sharpness of it is 67, Hikari's hand movement is 125)
As the shuriken hit the wind, the moving air would pass along side of it and allow the Ninja throwing star to pick up speed and fly at an enhanced speed through the air. By the time the weapon escaped the wind, it was going at a speed of 204. While the Jounin couldn't know for sure, the Fuinjutsu mistress expected that this attack would be going faster then what genin would be able to comprehend. If the boy did nothing, the speeding peice of metal would fly through the air, and hit the boy while he was still 50 meters away from Hikari in the upper left thy. This wouldn't be a fatal blow, but if it hit, would probably cut right through the boy's thy and bring the battle to a close.

Re: The final attempt

Akemi woke up with a start, his eyes wide and frantic, his heart pounding against the interior of his ribs as the adrenaline worked its way out of his system. He sighed, slowly stripping the sweat-drenched covers off of his body. Damn, he knew he was going to have nightmares about his 'death', but he didn't think it'd be this bad. However, if memory served, wasn't there was an exam or something going on today? He did recall Hikari telling him about it, but the memory was a little hazy. Oh well, better safe than sorry!
Now, to spare the reader's sanity, I shall not be detailing exactly what Akemi did during his morning routine. Instead, I shall just give you all a brief summary of what he did, up until he made it to the arena. Right, lets do this:
Akemi got out of bed, had a shower, got dressed, put all of his gear in their correct places, and then he saw the time and realised that he was late to the exam. So, after making sure he had everything, Akemi had rushed along the rooftops until he eventually arrived at the entry to the exam, extremely nervous of course.
There we go, as painless as possible. Now lets describe Akemi entering the arena in a little more detail, okay?
Akemi stood at the entrance to the gates, breathing a little heavier than normal due to how fast he was ran to these exams. He was nervous, exceedingly so. After all, he had already failed these exams twice, failing them for a third time would likely render him into a state of perpetual sorrow and glumness. And would likely shatter the 'Social' part of his personality that he was only just beginning to develop. Okay, enough of these pessimistic thoughts! He HAD to win, there was no other option!
Slapping both of his cheeks with their corresponding hands, Akemi shook his head and closed his eyes momentarily for a second. When he opened them, their usual dull aesthetics had been replaced with pure determination. He activated his chakra suppression, it was time.
Akemi stepped in through the CORRECT entrance to see a kunai leaving Hikari's hand at a breathtakingly fast speed about 100 meters away, he could only just about see it. This caused all of Akemi's previous confidence to drain out of his system, damn, it looked like he didn't even stand a chance to do this. Nonetheless, this wouldn't stop him from attempting it!
After gauging the entire arena, Akemi decided that this exam wouldn't be a repeat of the last one. He refused to stand still until he lost. So, with this thought in mind, the Hiyu would begin to walk towards Hikari at a speed of 5 while keeping out of the way of any of the attacks, turning his head at a slight angle so that he kept Tenma and Hikari in his sight. Keeping all of his senses on full alert in case they tried to do a sneak attack on him or something.

As soon as Tenma Saw the Chestnut Haired girl flinch towards her Shuriken, His skin would grow pale suddenly, he knew she knew this technique, she was the one who taught it to him, but that very moment also allowed him to kick into full momentum, His Kunai did hit the ground yes, but he needed to see how far he could get it to go firstly, he now knew his range.
So now that he was moving at a speed of one hundred and thirty, the distance between himself and Hikari grew shorter a lot faster, however he noted the Wind Gale wind he saw burst the Shuriken she threw, but thanks to his wind glaive he could still see the Shuriken as it flew at him, he had been practicing throwing and using the Wind Palm as well, so he could guestimate the projected path would put it piercing his left side, possibly meant to be for his thigh, however with his new speed it could intercept him in the hip, as he would be much further foreward then predicted at the time of the throw.
SO with all this in mind, as Tenma Ran forward he would take a single full size step diagonally, that would move him out of the path of the thrown shuriken, his hand seal still held this entire time, the Distance at the time of the Shuriken passing Harmlessly by him would be closed by fifteen Meters, five meters more the Hikari had predicted.
This new Distance put him forty-five meters away from Hikari, Never did he notice anyone else entering the arena, as his mind was solely focused on Hikari at the moment. If Hikari did not do anything for the next thirty five meters that he closed in towards her, and he reached his Ten meter mark, he would continue with the plan that was still in his mind, however he was fully prepared to react to her if she did make a movement within that short time span.
AP= 232-30 (Wind Glaive)= 202
Speed = 130
RT= 215
