Demons & Ghosts [Closed,IO,P]
Thu May 11, 2017 2:32 pm
Miyamoto was up late again, his training with the earth martial masters were growing incredibly difficult and it has become somewhat harder to move the stronger he became. It was as if his heart was slowing itself to the point of exhaustion. These late night sessions were becoming common, practicing his forms by moonlight, meditating, then learn more in the morning. It was hard work especially as the more he grew in power, the gap between him and Shin was beginning to close. The students at the school were starting to show signs of friendship as Miyamoto found himself constantly surrounded by those who were under him or were even his peers wanting to learn like he does. Miyamoto was maturing as well, his sparring session with other students became more of a learning tool then bothersome as he was able to relax and practice his forms all while teaching students entering the school the basics of hand to hand combat. His body grew too, he became too tall for his old clothes as he was measured at an incredible 5’ 5” tall now with a weight of 150 pounds. He did not fit the parameters of a normal ten year old at all, but with the incredible growth came immense pains to his chest. He constantly felt as if he was being held back. However, he did not stop training, he continued to grow, to find new heights to which he could compete with his peers, and to become strong enough to defend the village. His mind became sharp as a kunai, his constant use of the library allowed for the librarian to have a reason to continue and stay late. He read medical books to increase his knowledge of the human body, and involved himself with teaching younger kids how to use the library to increase their knowledge as well.
This night was long, and his forms were more complicated than the last set he learned. As the moon shined above him, he hit the training dummy for all his worth, eventually causing it to fall apart. As Miyamoto was catching his breath he fell to his butt so that he could look up at the sky. Looking up past the rooftops of the temple he noticed that the sky was devoid of the usual stars, as if they had all been extinguished. He reached out and wondered what was going on, but as the moon soon came overhead he realized that he had taken a break for too long. He shook his head and got back up only to see the training dummy put back together again. Miyamoto leapt back using the Flying Thrown Stones technique to pepper the dummy as it disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Miyamoto was angry, but he tried his best to remain calm as he looked around, scanning the training ground as quick as he could.
“WHO IS HERE?” He yelled out just as he was able to catch the glint as moonlight struck the blade of whatever was thrown at him, he used the rock fist technique to block the attack as he saw that kunai had struck his hand.
He crushed the kunai before discarding the pieces to the ground as he traced the trajectory, and there he saw it. A tall figure dressed in an all black robe, the insignia on the front of his robe was of the monk temple his former mentor Isshin was apart of. Miyamoto nearly growled as he felt his blood begin to boil.
“Getting faster by the day I see you have grown quite a lot in the span of seven months time Moto…Let us see how fast you really are.” The unmistakable voice of Isshin rang in his ears like a bell as he body flickered across the training field and appeared beside him, throwing a strong high kick with his left foot, only to find it hit nothing as another cloud of smoke blew into his face.
“Did you really think I was going to let you catch me with those parlor tricks...come now where is the fun in that.” Isshin said once more revealing himself on a rooftop a few houses away.
Without hesitation Miyamoto chased after Isshin, jumping to take a strike whenever possible as he worked to catch him. It seemed his efforts were in vain as every chance he took to attack only showed that it was either a clone or a substitution. He was toying with Miyamoto the entire time as soon they were led to the outskirts of the village, to the ghetto’s of Hoshigakure that most people do not know of. Here Miyamoto searched with his Chakra to find Isshin, only to find very few signatures at all...only a total of five all with the same energy...dead ahead. Without hesitation, without fear, and without holding back Miyamoto charged in towards the signatures. He hit each signature as he approached noticing each disappeared as he approached till only one was left. There he was, at the edge of the village, an abandoned house stood before him as he walked past the unhinged doors. The air was stale and dust hung heavily in the air, it was as if Miyamoto walked into an invisible sea as he approached the area where the last chakra signature was, and as he entered the room the figure that stood before him snapped with his left hand before turning around.
“Good to see you again Moto...you seemed to be too much at ease in your training, so I wanted to see how far you have progressed. Now that I have had a glimpse however, I want to see it all at work…” He would say before the figure before him with the voice of the Monk Isshin twisted and distorted before revealing itself as Miyamoto himself.
“This is a trick, but nice try Isshin…” Miyamoto started to say, thinking he was about to snap out of this weird genjutsu. However, this was not the case as the doppelganger launched at Miyamoto and swept his legs out from under him before attempting to bring his foot down in an axe kick, luckily Miyamoto rolled to his left at the last second.
“This is no trick...SHOW ME YOUR POWER!” the voice however was Miyamoto’s this time as he activated his Rock Fist technique and launched a flurry of blows at Miyamoto.
Miyamoto began by deflecting each blow, redirecting them as they came. Each strike was intended to do actual harm to Miyamoto so his deflection only caused his doppleganger to speed up and attempt to use the deflections to change directions and attack where Miyamoto is blind. After being struck in the back, Miyamoto rolled forward and activated his own rock fists. He launched at the doppelganger as he landed a quick jab to the stomach and a arm wrench to flip and punch to push himself away. He exhaled sharply as the doppelganger just smiled as it got up and performed the hand seals, which caught Miyamoto by surprise as he copied the seals at the same time activating the earth section cane as the two began to fight with increased strength. Blow for blow each of them were evenly matched, no ground was given or taken by either. The wind swept through the house, blowing dust particles and debris between the two as they stood at about one and a half meters from each other in what was once a living room area of the house. Miyamoto relaxed and let out a slow breath just before noticing the twitch of his doppelganger as he used another technique of Miyamoto’s. His body began to turn pitch black as if he was being burnt to a crisp. Miyamoto knew the technique as the Temple of Hephaestus, but he had never seen it before in front of him. It was truly terrifying if you did not know what was actually going on.
“Then I have no choice.” Miyamoto lamented before activating his own version of the technique.
The smoldering ash flew into the air as it became hard to breathe. It did not cause either damage, but the gravity of the situation showed to him that this fight only ended if one was defeated or killed. They launched at each other as each threw a right punch, landing in each others face as they both rebounded back and tumbled back before landing up on their feet. It was like Miyamoto was fighting a mirror, they both seemed taxed and weighed down. There was not a drop of blood from either of them at the current time, but Miyamoto could taste the iron in his mouth, like a rusty coin as he chuckled.
“This is a nice trick…” He said as he stood up, trying to think of a way to fight the exact copy of himself.
“But it only shows you that I am good at fighting one like me...as far as I know I am the last of my name. Why not fight me yourself?” Miyamoto attempted to goad Isshin into showing himself, but was only met with the visage of his grandfather in the same room behind the doppelganger.
It caught Miyamoto by surprise as he twitched, causing his double to chuckle loudly.
“Now...why would I do a thing like that, pain causes growth...and we both know that there is A LOT of pain within...us…” The double said, the voice of his inner doubt began to make Miyamoto twitch in anger and in pain.
The thoughts began to fill the real Miyamoto with doubt. He took deep breaths as they stood there, the double seemingly only making movements to goad Miyamoto into attempting to strike. They moved around and around in a circle as Miyamoto tried to come up with something he could use on the fly and improvise to create a hole in which he could defeat this clone. The thing was is that every time he attempted to put enough power into an attack, it seemed to just cause a rebound between them. It was as if the clone was an actual person, or that this “trick” as he kept referring to was some high ranking genjutsu...either way it did not look good for Miyamoto at the current time.
Miyamoto slid to the double as he attempted to perform a rising kick and lead into the leaf hurricane technique only to find the double had body flickered to the top of the stairs. With a annoyed growl Miyamoto followed his double up the stairs, and upon reaching the top he nearly had a heart attack as it appeared that the top of the stairs had become the edge of a giant chasm.
“I am tired of the games Isshin...COME OUT AND FIGHT! END THIS GENJUTSU!” He yelled out frustrated enough that flames licked off of his skin against the floor.
Inside the house
Isshin looked at Miyamoto as he pat the shoulder of the monk that was currently casting the genjutsu. He walked around Miyamoto as he stood still, frozen inside his own mind. He did not know what was being said, and Isshin did not speak a word as the monk was instructed that anything that Isshin said was to be repeated inside the genjutsu as it happened. Isshin studied Miyamoto, taking mental notes that his physical appearance changed into somewhat of a young adult, the muscles he had should not be showing up even with a strict regiment. However the most remarkable thing about it all was that where his heart was located was a slight glow.
“Interesting that a boy like this would have such a complicated procedure...though I guess it should be no surprise...being the son of that Terumi...I wonder just how strong he is...can't even break free from a genjutsu…” Isshin said to himself inside of his head as he continued to ponder. He would only allow this little “experiment” to continue as long as Miyamoto showed signs of what he needed.
Back to the genjutsu trapped Miyamoto
He stood there looking down into what seemed to be an abyssal maw of some sinister demon, but his fear seemed to have finally shown in his eyes as he finally heard the voice of his tormentor.
“Seems as though you fear what lies in the dark after all Moto…” Isshin's voice rang out before finally the doppelganger appeared to be floating above the chasm smiling at Miyamoto with a look of malicious intent.
Miyamoto swallowed hard before taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, he attempted again to break the genjutsu but felt as if he was being held down as his physical body twitched. He felt as though the link of the technique could be weakening, however he showed no indication of it. If he was trapped, it was better that the captor did not know that their plan was falling through. Instead Miyamoto stepped out and swallowed hard again as he let himself drop into the abyss.
The Doppelganger showed a sign of worry as he too began to fall, and so after ew seconds they stared at each other. Miyamoto opened his eyes as he sensed the presence of the person in front of him, but this time it was different...the chakra became slightly off of Miyamoto’s natural aura. Miyamoto saw the opportunity as he swung his leg across his body as it caught the double in his right hip, sending him spinning before the double was able to recover and use a fireball technique, there was not much he could do as he braced for impact he quickly used his Yin Healing Wound Technique to help with the soaking of damage as the fireball engulfed him. As the flames disappeared Miyamoto stood there as he popped his neck and knuckles. He felt more confident as the scene of the chasm seemed to waiver for a moment revealing the living area upstairs as the scene soon defaulted back to it.
“Seems you are not as strong as me after all eh Isshin…” Miyamoto said in jest as he spat blood onto the floor. He then took a heavy defensive stance just as his doppelganger seemed to speed up to attempt to strike him.
Even though the double’s aim was true, Miyamoto was able to dodge by using his body flicker to appear behind him. He swung with a right hook almost catching the double, but fell short as the double was able to duck and bring up his knee to catch Miyamoto in the rib cage. This caused him to become overextended as he fell forward and rolled before sweeping his leg out and rising up he felt a change. He slowed his breathing once more as neither of them moved for what seemed like ten minutes or more. He then opened his eyes as he let his chakra explode out of him in a burst as it filled the area they were in. He was then caught by surprise as he nearly gasped, the chakra was completely different. That is when the doppelganger seemed to catch on and move in as it yelled.
“TIME TO FINISH THIS KID!” The double exclaimed, as if to reaffirm the answer Miyamoto just received.
Miyamoto waited till the double was about to hit him, and at the last moment he reacted by using hiding like a mole at the same time as he activated the mud spore technique. The double became instantly solidified as it struggled to free itself buying Miyamoto enough time to execute his final move. As he rose from the ground some feet away he activated the last hand seal for Earth Flow Spears as they pierced the double. Then as the genjutsu popped and shattered Miyamoto looked at the monk who seemed to have been broken by being defeated inside of his own genjutsu.
“You are correct...it is time to end this.” Miyamoto said activating the real life temple of Hephaestus as he saw Isshin behind the broken monk just smiling.
Miyamoto used the Demon Lantern technique as he blasted the balls around the room before using hiding like a mole as the balls detonated causing the house to explode spectacularly against the night sky. He hoped that he was able to catch Isshin and finally be rid of him as he had developed no remorse for the fact that he might have not only killed him, but the other monk as well. Miyamoto then left the scene as he used his hiding like a mole to circumnavigate his way back to the school.
At the school
As he arrived back to the school he emerged from the ground right outside the gate. He could see in the distance that the sky was alight as he took a deep breath and released in a final sigh as he fell to his knees.
“It is over…” He said before slowly picking himself up and hopping over the gate and he walked to his bed before collapsing on it as he passed out.
As he slept, the scene kept repeating in his head. He was lured into the abandoned house by his former mentor. It angered him that he was goaded into a trap...as soon as he walked past the threshold of the abandoned house he was trapped. How could he not see that coming, or rather why could he not break out of it. He wanted desperately to punch a wall, but he instead kept going through the experience as he learned how to break free using the Mind's Eye of the Kagura technique to give him the proper view of the chakra. He found that he was able to find a way to break free from the genjutsu while breaking the mind of the user. The end though…he lost all reason and care for anyone in the house which showed with the demolition of the house and the area immediately around it. He felt no remorse for what happened, not like when he was faced with life or death in the sewers not that long ago.
Then everything seemed to just go numb and go dark...

Re: Demons & Ghosts [Closed,IO,P]
Thu May 11, 2017 5:26 pm
He awoke sometime later in a bed different from the one at the school as he looked around him. He saw wires, connected to his arms, monitors above his head, and the room was a bleach white as a cool breeze wafted into the room. He tried to pull himself up but felt a tremendous pain in his chest before finally giving up and laying back down. As he did lie there though he reached out with his chakra as he opened the Minds Eye of the Kagura technique as he felt his consciousness expand as he could tell where all of his comrades were except for one Kyousuke Snow...He opened his eyes as he saw a doctor walking in. He smiled to the doctor weakly, he was upset as to the fact he knew not of why he was here. He also wanted to know when he could leave.
“Wh...why am I here, last I checked I was in my bed at the martial arts school.” Miyamoto scratched his head as he tried to rise out of bed, but found himself still weak.
The doctor checked his monitors and paperwork before taking a few breaths and looking down at the injured Miyamoto.
“You lost consciousness apparently no one could wake you from whatever had befallen you. Everything checks out except your heart seems to be beating at a weaker pace. You have been under our care for about three days, we plan on taking you into surgery to take a look at what is causing this. Now that you are awake what do you think?” The doctor said, no indication that he was apart of the shinobi medical forces of Hoshigakure so it made Miyamoto a bit skeptical.
“Will it get back up to fighting properly?” Asked Miyamoto with no indication of fear or hesitation.
The doctor nodded as Miyamoto then yawned and laid back relaxed.
“Then do what you have to do.” Miyamoto finished before closing his eyes so the doctor could get to work.
As he laid in that bed he began to experience vivid dreams of the altercation in the abandoned house at the edge of the village. The monk whom had him under the genjutsu seemed to be rather young, maybe even closer to his age. What exactly was going on with the monks of this village? The question hung in his head as the sound of Isshin's voice filled his head as he remembered what was said.
Some time later he laid awake as he was rolled into the operation room. He was hooked up to a few IV’s and monitors started to come to life as he was given anesthesia, causing him to slowly fall into a slumber. After he was fast asleep the doctors began their work on him. First making incisions on his chest where his heart was, taking great care to not damage anything as they saw what was meant to be kept secret since Miyamoto was a chuunin of the village. They cut through tissue, muscle and various other pieces that needed to be removed to examine him. One of the doctors stared wide eyed as the others looked confused. The surgeon took off his mask as he looked to the team of doctors around him.
“This boy won’t survive if we remove this object around his heart...I thought it was only a myth…I only read about this when I was in training...this boy has something of a guardian angel if he has this” The doctor said as he blinked twice in disbelief. He swallowed hard before managing to finally calm down.
“Sew the boy back up and give him some steroids to help boost his metabolism and see if it helps him with the stamina issue.” The surgeon said as the doctors nodded and went in to sew Miyamoto back up.
The doctors wasted no time, but at the moment they began to sew Miyamoto back up it seemed his body had taken some sort of allergy attack as Miyamoto convulsed for a few seconds as the monitors went haywire and his heart rate plummeted. The doctors were acting like they were losing their minds, which under the assumption that they had never had to do this would probably be correct in that. They worked quick as Miyamoto flatlined, his body went limp and lifeless. The doctors tried many techniques to jump start Miyamoto’s heart, but after a few minutes...nothing worked. Everyone was in shock, there was every precaution carried, they based his medical records after his former examinations and from his mothers...they all sat down in various chairs in the surgery room as the monitor still read that Miyamoto’s heart had stopped beating.
“Time of death...1:00 p.m. the year of…” just as the surgeon was announcing the time of death, Miyamoto rose up, ripping the wires off of him in a startling moment that had everyone nearly screaming or moving for the door to escape what might have awoken.
“WOAH! What exactly just happened?” Miyamoto asked in a confused state as the doctors looked at him with caution.
The incision where Miyamoto was cut began to heal as a slight orange glow appeared under his skin. It seemed his body was repairing itself, probably from the medical ninjutsu Miyamoto learned earlier. With a single burp making his eyes grow wide, Miyamoto doubled over the bed and threw up with such a force that the bile splattered on the floor like blood would from a cut on the body.
“That...you were dead...this whole thing is impossible.” One doctor said as he looked to the surgeon.
The surgeon, regaining his composure finally removed his gloves and mask as he stepped up to the hospital bed on the other side as to not step into the mess on the floor.
“This is some old shinobi art kid...there are only small reports as to what or why this happened, but it must have to do with the cage around your heart.” The surgeon said and also tapped his chest where the incision should have been. He actually was not surprised by the fact that there seemed to be no cut or muscle damage.
Miyamoto blinked twice as he listened to the surgeon. He had no idea that he was about to be pronounced head, in his head he literally just thought he was asleep. He stretched before looking at the team of doctors before finally speaking up.
“Can I please go back to my room, or can I leave...I am quite hungry?” He asked with a slight burp as the doctors finally were able to breathe seeing Miyamoto’s color return to his body.
About thirty minutes later Miyamoto was back in his room as he yawned and ate what was supposed to be four whole meals. He had energy again, he felt great, and he only knew what was told to him by the doctors. He had not a care in the world and after a couple of hours the doctor ame in and handed Miyamoto his uniform and had him sign some papers, he was informed that all of what happened would not be recorded officially as it would not be beneficial to his health. Miyamoto just nodded at it all until he was told he could go free.
Miyamoto smiled as the doctor left, he dressed quickly, making sure that each button was done right as he attached all of his weapons last. He walked out of the hospital, waving to everyone as he walked out of the front door. As he walked out onto the street he turned towards the direction of the martial arts school. Right before he turned down into a busy street the wind blew through him as an icy chill ran through him. He activated the Mind's Eye of the Kagura technique and instantly was able to see that there was a familiar chakra behind him. He did not even turn, but he heard the voice clear as day as if the person was right behind him.
“I am glad you were able to make it out of that horrendous fire the other night.” The voice of Isshin said as Miyamoto turned, at the same time he pulled his ninjato from behind him…
When he turned though...there was nobody there...just an empty pathway back towards the hospital.
"Must be hearing things..." Miyamoto said softly before sheathing the ninjato.
