The Makings of Harmodius ~P, NK~
Sat Mar 04, 2017 8:19 pm
Altar strolled into the academy, his mind working at a pace well above natural. He had been up the past few nights, tossing sleep to the side in favor of study. He would of course be the first to admit he had shortcomings. But for every shortcoming, there was a cover. And he had thought up one hell of a cover.
He had taken up fuinjutsu to add versatility to his arsenal, and it was now coming in handy for the second major time. Of course, he needed to alert his co-conspirator to the idea, seeing as he was well versed in fuinjutsu as well.
Finding the signature, Altar would check the hallway and knock on the classroom door, opening it once a reply had been issued. Entering, the boy would look for Ren, and upon seeing him would speak, his words quick and clipped for emphasis and secrecy.
"Ren. I believe I have something that requires your immediate attention. I'd rather not leave the class unattended, however, so if you'd like to call in a substitute before you take your leave...?"

Ren had been lecturing the class on the basics of chakra theory and was rather surprised to find someone knocking on the door of the class room. A few moments later Altar entered the room, Ren acted surprised of course but he'd been sensing the man's chakra signature approaching for a while and had been ready to wrap up his class as a result. Nodding at Altar when he informed Ren that he was needed Ren turned to the class and finished what he was saying. "that is the basic theory on how to perform the transformation technique; Now since I'm needed elsewhere Samantha in the back there has already mastered the technique and will perform it for you all. While I'm gone I expect you to all spend this extra free time practicing your techniques." Ren said forcing a smile before walking out the room and into the hall, activating his telepathy seal as he did so and transmitting his thoughts even as he spoke aloud. "Shall we walk to my office Altar, I'm sure what ever you need dealt with should be done so privately?" Ren said aloud, beginning to walk towards his office and its relative privacy; mean while his mind conveyed a different message 'I take it something important happened then my friend?'

As Ren left the classroom, he started speedwalking towards his office, and of course Altar would follow, simply nodding at the words the chuunin had spoken out loud. However, he would reply to the inquiry made via telepathy seal in the same way it had been asked initially.
"Nothing terribly major. However, I believe I have created something that may be of great interest and use to both of us. Seeing how quickly the flames of revolution are spreading, i'd rather not hold on to this information. The faster it develops, the better off we are."
On reaching Ren's office, Altar would close the door behind the pair and speak via telepathy again.
"Now then, I trust this place is quite secure, but...not as secure as my own personal gap in time and space. If you'd care to come along, I can then show you what i've created." the boy would say, a deep purple rift opening to Altar's right side. The boy would motion for Ren to step inside, and he would make his way in after the chuunin.
Upon reappearing in Void, the portal would close behind them and Altar would reach out to grab Ren by the shoulder, looking into the chuunin's eyes, his face painted unexpectedly serious.
"Ren. I need you to trust me. Do you trust me?"

Ren internally smiled at the man's words, considering how useful what little knowledge Ren had garnered from his brief stay in void Ren expected whatever knowledge Altar had decided to introduce him too would be incredibly enlightening. Once they reached his office Ren opened the door, allowing Altar to enter first before following behind him. Ren was just about to move to open his secret room before altar 'spoke' again and a dark purple rift opened up next to him. With a simple nod Ren stepped forward, making his way through the rift and into Altar's little pocked of time and space once more.
Ren caught a glimpse of the same stained glass floor, the same one he had stood upon the last time he had been to void, with a simple image of a cross depicted upon it. On one side of the cross a devil, and on the other side the same image of a godly figure with no face that Ren had seen before; 'is that supposed to be altar, or Nekoda?' Ren found himself wondering for a moment; Of course beneath the cross was that same set of scales. 'Do all these images mean something, or are they just for thematic effect?' Ren wondered before He felt Altar grab him quite forcefully by the shoulder. "I trust you altar, as much as I can, I still have my doubts about how fit you are to lead, but you already know that, and I am yet to decide one way or another my feelings on the matter." Ren said, allowing his voice to take on a serious tone for a moment.

As Ren replied, a half gentle, half sinister smile would appear on Altar's face. He would tighten his grip ever so slightly before replying.
"Good."
And in the same instant the word was audible, Altar would let go of the boy's shoulder, the ground beneath the chuunin disappearing. Ren would find himself in forever fall for a few seconds, rapidly gaining momentum. Every time it seemed he was about to impact the floor, it would instead open, and Ren would find himself fifty meters in the air, falling to the same stained glass floor every time.
Now, Altar, with his natural flair for the dramatic, would turn his back to the boy and let him fall for a few seconds, Nekoda and Kalamity appearing by his sides once more. Once he was satisfied, he would activate a seal in his back, a golden arm appearing from the seal and grabbing Ren in mid-air, stopping his fall. The floor would close itself underneath the boy, and Altar would keep him held in the golden hand for a few seconds before lowering him to the floor and turning back around to face him.
As he did, the hand would retract and the seal would move, and fifteen hands would take form from Altar's back. The ANBU would extend his arms out to his sides, flourishing his hands, a smile on his face. "This, Ren, is what I have been working on. This is what I have created."

Ren felt the man's grip tighten on him for a moment before he was suddenly falling through the sky "ALTAR WHAT THE FUUUUCK!!!!!" He found himself screaming as the wind whipped past him, the stained glass flooring hurtling towards him at a break neck speed. It was just as Ren was about to hit the floor that space seemed to fold in over itself, the impossible image giving Ren an intense sense of vertigo as he found himself hurtling towards that same stained class flooring, again and again until eventually He felt a force tugging on him as a great golden hand extending from altar caught him.
Altar thankfully put Ren back on the ground; He certainly wasn't looking forward to any form of flight or falling after that endeavor. Of course all of Ren's anxiety faded rather quickly when Altar displayed just what he had created to Ren; fifteen arms of solid gold chakra; that was something incredible, and Ren wasn't afraid to admit as such. "Thats incredible! How did you manage that?!?" Ren asked walking forward to examine the strange appendages closer

As Altar released Ren, he could feel the boy gawk at the arms extending from the seals, the golden chakra radiating out from the arms and lighting the area around him and Ren. Nekoda simply stood to Altar's right, whereas Kalamity seemed to back away from Altar, the demon shrinking away from the golden glow. As Ren asked his question, Altar replied, allowing the arms to flex and move independently, occasionally moving the seals across his body while explaining.
"Fuinjutsu, my friend. I know you enjoy it and see it's uses just as much as I. I manufactured seals meant to exude pure, condensed chakra in a well known and useful form. I meant for the seals to be incredibly malleable in just what they can form, however, arms are the most useful human appendages." the boy would say, allowing the jutsu to return to it's passive state, moving from all fifteen arms down to just two.
Altar would create various crude weapons, allowing the arms to juggle the weapons before throwing them across Void into a bullseye target, each hitting around the bullseye. The boy would them conjure training dummies, letting the arms hit them around before tearing them in half, the arms barely struggling against the solid, well constructed constructs.
"I have no interest in Taijutsu, as you could most likely tell. I would not normally have the strength required to harmfully impact someone like Xyxer, let alone tear him in half..." while saying this, the boy would create a replica of the tyrant, just within the arms grasp.
"However, these arms are constructs of my chakra, and as such are just as strong as any other jutsu would be. As such, they are easily strong enough to tear anything imaginable right in half." the boy would say, grabbing the replica of the man and pulling it directly in half, tossing the lower body aside before grabbing the separated torso and crushing the head, little resistance being given, a sadistic smile on his face.
After dropping the body, the boy would allow the arms to conjoin before continuing his explanation. "And, if ever in need, the arms may combine into one, their strength also combining." The boy would say. As his explanation had gone on, his voice had become louder, speaking faster, his speech becoming more and more elated in tone. As this had happened, Kalamity, the demon in the background, had slowly grown, the constantly twitching shadow becoming larger and larger, more horrifying features starting to sprout from the shifting body, razor sharp claws and mouths full of jagged teeth filling it's form, the beast now towering over the others present, well above eight feet tall, a gut-wrenching, sickening smile on the demon's face.
And as the boy finished his explanation, the demon started crawling ever closer.

Ren carefully observed the chakra appendages that altar had formed as he spoke, they truely were magnificent, more stronger than normal limbs and twice as flexible, and that was before Ren even saw the man start creating blades that he could throw from the limbs. "Limbs made of chakra, capable of tearing with a power far greater than ones physical abilities?" Ren thought aloud as he stepped forward and took ahold of the boy's arm, leaning down to closely examine the seals as they shifted along his body. "Altar, I really must say you've completely out done yourself this time. This is absolutely incredible! How did you do it? I can see you have an array on the outer ring to shape the rate at which the chakra leaks from the seal but how did you maintain the structural integrity of the chakra once it leaked from your body? More importantly how are you stoping the chakra from bleeding off, I'm right in assuming that your not just letting the chakra bleed off from the construct, that sort of chakra loss would kill most people in a matter of seconds?" Ren began rambling questions as he twisted the boy's arm one way and then another, before letting go and pulling out his little black notebook and a pen and, flipping to a small empty section in the back where he could begin sketching out the seals altar had running along his body. "These are without a doubt some of the most complex seals I've ever seen" he reiterated as he flipped over the page, and continued sketching small segments of the seal at a far larger scale.

The boy would let Ren toy with his arms as it pleased him, confirming most of his statements with a simple "mhmm" or nod. When he asked how he kept the seal from leaking excess chakra, Altar would point to the inner ring of the seal. "There's a sort of vacuum seal on the seal to ensure only so much chakra can escape, that much being enough to just make the arm. When the arm is fully materialized, the seal tries to close on itself, catching on the arm. However, the arm is sturdier than the seal itself. It ensures there's no gap left for excess chakra to leave."
Altar would chuckle at Ren taking out the notebook and starting his sketch, moving the arms so he'd have a better view of the seal in use. However, in the back of his mind he felt something...off.
While Ren had been sketching, Kalamity had been coming ever closer. The demon now stood half a meter from Altar, snarling and vicious. And when it knew Altar was aware of its presence, it leapt. The demon jumped towards Altar from behind, aiming to devour the boy whole. Altar would swivel on his left foot, using one of the arms to grab the beast by the neck and slam it to the ground before grabbing it with the second and pushing it back into the giant stone throne. Where it sat against the throne, chains would manifest and wrap around the beast, constraining it back to it's original shape and form.
"Apologies. He can get...rather unruly when my mind is scattered or excited. He gets worse when i'm violent, believe me." the ANBU would say, chuckling and turning back to Ren.

Ren made a face, that would be the best way to describe it, for it was such an exhilarated mixture of confusion, exuberance, surprise, curiosity, enthusiasm, shock, amazement, wonder, bewilderment, and inquisitiveness, that one could never truely do it justice with any lesser description. "This is incredible" Ren said again, repeating himself in his haste and exhilaration as he continued scribbling down in his notes. "It's a self inverting lock then?" Ren asked, more to himself than the boy; his pen moving a mile a minute as he continued flipping through the book. He was starting to run out of paper, but the cogs of his mind were moving too fast for him to simply slow down due to lack of paper. "Altar, Can you make me some paper?" Ren said, Kneeling down to the ground as he continued to sketch more and more complex sigils in his little booklet; complex algorithms and equations starting to bleed over into the corners of the designs as Ren scribbled in the little thing. Assuming Altar conjured paper for Ren he would take the stack and begin laying out sheats on the ground; drawing a large twenty to one scale copy of Altar's sigil over the layers of sheats. "Now then, lets see here, you have a..."
Ren heard a snarl and a loud Crash as he glanced behind him to see Altar slamming the creature that Altar had so accurately named Kalamity, into the large stone throne. Ren scowled; Not so much at altar, but rather the creature. Ren was certainly still wary and somewhat terrified by the creature; but that paled in comparison from the discovery that Ren felt forming on the edge of his mind. Turning back to his work Ren spoke as he continued writing. "Kalamity is an apt name, can you keep him there for a while" Ren said before he started murmuring to himself. "Right, so you have a triple layered release point for the array here, and then that feeds into a feedback loop that generates the constriction on the seal without cutting off the initial chakra release." Ren picked up one of the sheets from the middle of the pile and stood up. "Right! so this is the uptake point for your chakra; correct?" Ren said, glancing at altar and showing him a portion of the large scale seal he had drawn on the ground. Walking over to where the scales sat on the ground Ren placed the piece on the ground and grabbed a few more pieces of paper from the pile before laying them down around the seal.
"Now then, if this is your uptake point, then if we alter the uptake point so that it no longer draws straight from your chakra, like so." Ren said, sketching out a slightly different version of the seal on a new piece of paper. "Then we can add a storage layer here." Ren drew out a simplified version of the atypical chakra storage seal array that most Fuinjutsu specialists utilised these days... Ren then began anotating the storage layer at thirteen different points before grabbing another sheet and drawing another array designed to match up to the first of those thirteen points. "I'll set this array to draw chakra from the hosts body at a slower rate and then feed it to the next aray, following that the second array can magnify the chakra before feeding it to the storage seal." Ren laid out the papers on the ground before continuing. "Right now then the third array will draw the power from the storage seal and magnify it once again, meanwhile if I tie array four and five to the third array and have them absorb ambient chakra that will leak from the seal when its active, that should handle any energy loss from the seal itself. I might be sacrificing some power, but it should still function with relatively similar strength to what the original displayed." Ren placed down the sheets again and drew interconnecting lines between them; signifying the interactions between them all. "The next five are simple mirror images of the first group" Ren said as he began marking out duplicate copies of the Arrays he'd just drawn, albeit inverted so that they wouldn't inter fear with the chakra flow of the rest of the seal. "Now I just tie the second and seventh array together using the eleventh array, rather than directly into the storage layer so that theres no risk of overloading the... Blast, I'm out of ink." Ren looked up at the boy, wherever he had moved to at this point. "Got another pen I can use by any chance?" Assuming altar pulled a pen from somewhere Ren would use that to continue his mapping of this design... If not Ren would pull out a kunai and give his finger a light prick; It wasn't the most useful of writing implements, but a bloodied finger wouldn't kill him, and what he was working on here was more than a little bit more important than a scar.
"Right where was I... oh, overloading the seal. So I tie these two to the eleventh array and then that feeds into the storage seal. We then tie the seal to the twelfth array which sits above the rest of the formula and interconnect that with the thirteenth array. Those two can pass the chakra back and forth magnifying it enough to generate a consistent stable supply of chakra." With that we should have enough energy to maintain one of those arms of yours without any energy loss." Ren said; he was talking, but rather than talking too Altar, Ren was talking at the boy; of course if altar had any useful or insightful input to mention then Ren would stop and maybe pay the boy some note.
