Re: Learning more about the woods (Miyamoto)
Mon Aug 29, 2016 3:59 pm
Miyamoto still awaited the answer, but he could not help himself as he felt the familiar spark of creation within himself. He had not fully given himself over to the water, so here he was inside his head, still like the rock as water merely moved around him. Miyamoto inside of his head, brought his head down below the surface. The water then washed over him completely as he let go of his footing...he began to float away.
"It is that easy huh..."
he remarked inside of his head, he gave his senses over as his nostrils filled with the scent of fresh water, his touch was as if he was scraping across the river bed, and the water was refreshingly cool. He slipped away from reality as his ears filled with water, the sounds of the real world were drowned out as even Dusk began to slip away from his vision. He made the ram seal again with both hands as he began to feel the water itself rise from his skin. He was attempting to perform Dusk's technique on a larger scale as he could feel the air around his physical body grow moist, even his clothes looked as though he had just ran a one hundred mile marathon in mere seconds.
Physically as he felt the moisture leave his body inside his head he was sitting on a small rock amongst the river, listening and taking it all in, the rest of the scene filled as it became morning and fog began to fill the air as far as his eyes could see all eminating from a central point...Miyamoto.
"I think I am getting it actually Dusk..."
He said as he activated the chakra rich moisture that was levitating off of his body, he felt the air grow thick as he opened his eyes. Indeed he was right as he had managed to fill the air between the two with fog, but rather than a thin mist it was heavy almost as if it were thick smoke rolling off of a river in winter. His head was metaphorically as large as his body as he felt he had mastered it, he grabbed the water skin and held it as he focused on the water inside the skin. He felt it's energy, and the chakra inside him was starting to fill over much like Dusk had spoken of in terms of using the mist technique. It soon became apparent that he was trying to move too much too fast as he focused hard on pulling the water from the skin, and in some cases he might have considered what happened a success. The water skin erupted with force spewing water all over Miyamoto's hand and face.
"Too much..."
He sighed before corking the skin and setting it down, he had put too much emphasis on trying to control the water that he did not see that his mental capacity was reached and he pushed too much into it.
"Damn..."
He looked disapointed for just a few seconds before putting his hands back in the ram hand sign as he would go back to focusing on filling the cup of water without over filling it. This was sure easer said than done that much was true, the cup that Miyamoto had envisioned was the size of his fist as he held it and silently began to build up his water chakra as the representation being the cup filled slowly. He had to keep his cool and regulate his breathing so that he could find a control for the energy being used. Soon he found that even the smallest shift would either over fill or drain the water, but he could still not find the constant.
Rather impatiently Miyamoto looked to Dusk once more.
"I know I should have waited on instruction before trying more, but that is not how I know how to do things...how does one fill the cup without over filling it?"
He asked with a puzzled expression on his face. Still it was not hard to see that Miyamoto had indeed made head-way into fully unlocking the potential of the water element. Even his eyes were watering.

Re: Learning more about the woods (Miyamoto)
Mon Aug 29, 2016 6:45 pm
While Miyamoto had been training himself Dusk continued to train himself to use this particular water jutsu. Since he knew how to shape chakra into form his issue was putting enough water into a form and holding it. Unlike with the technique he had learned from Den, this one seemed to have had a different method for forming it. Once again he made the hand seals and placed his hands onto the ground, using the water he had previously put into the air with the Hidden Mist technique and began to focus on its form first. He imagined one of the snakes that his teacher had with him on that faithful day and thought of its body. Long and slender, he began to form the water in its image before worrying about anything else. At long last he had its form down and moved to actually figure out how strong it needed to be. At first he simply thought of a raging river since it needed to be able to contain and restrain his opponents, but when he willed the snake to move towards a tree some few meters away from him it simply disappeared.
Sighing he began to scratch his head before turning to the words of his new friend and smiled," Keep it up then. Sooner or later you will have it mastered and be able to use it how you want," for a moment he stopped to watch he himself had been doing. So far he had been getting the basics down to where he could have almost learned the element but the males question had thrown him off quite a bit. Now Dusk was known to be neither a cup half full or a cup half empty type of male and was happy to be one of the few that always thought outside of the box.The question though caused the male to smile as he answered Miyamoto," You simply pour into it until you want to stop. If you want a full cup then you pour until it cannot hold anymore. If you want only a little water pour until you are satisfied. But why use a cup when you can just enjoy the water from the source," a small chuckle left his lips as he knew from his own answer how to learn the jutsu.
Standing up once more he clapped his hands together performing Monkey → Rat → Tiger → Dragon → Horse → Dragon before spewing the water from his mouth. Laced with his chakra he began to form it into a snake once it had splashed onto the ground. The moment it splashed onto the ground he forced his chakra to form into a giant snake in which he smiled and patted himself on the back," A cup filled just the way I want it..Now I just need to test it in combat to see just how useful it really is...," thinking out loud he tapped his chin and allowed the snake to turn back into water which fell around him in a small circle.

Re: Learning more about the woods (Miyamoto)

Miyamoto listened to the words of Duck once more. It seemed that the male was almost happy for the question, as well as a little baffled. Miyamoto knew he was not good at asking direction or for advice, but Dusk was still happy to give it. Miyamoto listened to his advice as he thought about it for a moment. He then began to pour water using his chakra in his mind, slow and steady as he watched it slowly fill to the brim as he held it there, confining the water to its cylindrical prison. He breathed deeply as he then remembered what Dusk said about just controlling it from the source. Miyamoto brought back to memory the scene of him meditating on the rock.
"Water, slow and humble...yet strong and unpredictable..."
He said before moving the chakra in his hands kneading it slowly as he would soon bring about a sphere of water chakra just as Dusk had done earlier. He began to move it around his body while practicing his tai chi so that the ball was always in motion as was he like the waves of a disturbed lake or kneading in the ocean. His breathing was slow and steady now as he took the ball and invisioned it being thrown into the body of water. He would watch as the water would swallow the ball and see his own chakra move around like fish would, darting this way and that.
"It is within me, I have full control..."
He would then move his hands as he would see the water slowly moving this way and that, the energy flowing through him like some ancient being. He would stop looking at the water as his focus was no longer on gaining access to the chakra, but now just becoming the chakra itself. HE jumped into the water, he let it wash over him once more as he would hold his breath, keeping his movements slow and steady, but not once trying to come back up for air. The surface was reachable yes, but it was not needed if you could control water, you could make it move for you, provide what you need.
"I can do this..."
He said as he would stand up before Dusk and try the mist technique once more. This time focusing on how wide he wanted the mist he watched the water chakra move through his body and soon coming to the surface of his skin before evaporating up into the air. The mist would form slowly and hang around in a very thin veil. Miyamoto began to move through the veil with ease as he embraced his newfound discovery of using the water element. He was laughing excitedly as he had the final key in unlocking his bloodlines power. He would now be able to train himself on how to use the Volcano and Boil release. His path was becoming much more clear.
His goal was now beginning to seem tangible and he grew anxious of what came next.

Re: Learning more about the woods (Miyamoto)

As Miyamoto finished his own training, Dusk smiled and walked over to pat him on the back," Well now that you have a good grasp on Water, what was it that you were wanting to learn it for?," before he continued to he pulled out a small scroll with a water insignia on it (bare with me) and sat it on the ground," Now that you have the basics down you can learn some of the lower water jutsu to help accommodate yourself with the element a little more," inside of it had a few D ranked to C ranked Water jutsu that Dusk had seen around while reading in the library and chose to write down a small description and then the hand signs so that he could do them at a later date. One of which had been the Water Snake Technique he had just been working on while Miyamoto had been getting used to Suiton.
While Dusk continued to practice the first of many techniques he had wanted to learn he wondered if the other genin wanted to spar just to get the blood flowing and the use of newer jutsu in the air. Speaking of he slid his hands into his pockets just brushing past the staff he had on his back," So Miyamoto want to have a small spar of sorts? Nothing too dangerous just some friendly fun while you get adjusted to water and try to learn some of the jutsu in the scroll," he wasn't going to pressure him into it or anything, that wasn't Dusk's style and he'd rather have fun than bully someone into what he wanted to do . So in the mean time he rocked from left to right waiting for an answer or some form of sign to see what he would be doing next.

Miyamoto smiled as he looked over the scroll that Dusk had produced. It seemed there quite a few techniques he wished to learn, but the one that seemed more useable at the moment would have to be the Water Whip. Miyamoto memorized the hand signs required before standing up, handing the scroll back to Dusk.
"A spar seems quite adequate at this point. I am going to try my hand at the water Whip, shall we?"
Miyamoto loosened up; a few deep breaths to center himself before walking to the center of the training area where he took the Hung Gar Horse Stance as he usually did. He waited as he did not know just how capable Dusk was, though his grasp and tutelage is what taught him in the first place. There was no time like the present to learn how to work around a stronger opponent than the present.
He waited.

Clapping his hands together he made space between himself and his new friend allowing for the two of them to have movement room to cast their jutsu or make any form of movement how they saw fit. Raising his left and right hands just meters apart he began to form the hand seals Monkey → Rat → Tiger → Dragon → Horse → Dragon to use the new jutsu he had just learned today. From his mouth spewed forth from his mouth and swirled around him into the form of a snake. The five meter long snake opened its maw as Dusk pushed his right hand forward, causing the water snake to rush forward towards Miyamoto at the speed of speed of 20. Weaving left and right the snake would passed over Miyamoto with his mouth gaping open and swallowing him as if the snake itself was a raging river, pushing backwards and collapsing carrying him further back before turning into a puddle of water.
Dusk waited for a moment to see how he would respond before making any more movements. Knowing the jutsu by name, he thought of the Water whip as just that- a simple whip and prepared himself for what would come next. Knowing Dusk he might have tried his hand at the jutsu as well just to simply learn it as another water jutsu down the road.

Miyamoto watched his foe as he stepped across from him some 2 meters. It did not take long as Dusk decided to move his pawn right off the bat. He noticed the hand signs and the ensuing snake mouth technique, it was as if Dusk did not care that Miyamoto could see. That was fine, someone that was direct would made the best of opponents for Miyamoto.
"Right on."
He would say as he felt confident in his strength and will to fight. He would stand still watching the snake rush at him, he could see that it was moving at a speed he could recognize as he waited for it to hit him. Upon striking him Miyamoto would begin moving through the water towards his opponent. He was happy that his body had been trained enough to withstand the blow...but it was not easy. As he closed in the gap between the two, which was hard enough, he would perform the hand signs needed for Rock Fist as his arms were soon overtaken by smooth stone gauntlets. He would then begin moving faster as he would reach the end of the stream. He would reach 20 speed by the time he would cross 1.5 meters, and soon 25 at about 1.8 meters.
"Let's see how you do against this!"
He would say as he would perform the following hand signs within .2 meters of Dusk.Rat, Dog, Ox as he would attempt to use the water Dusk expelled to throw back at him in the whip.
After watching the Jutsu fail Miyamoto would be too close, so he would keep moving changing his direction to run left of Dusk pushing the gap back out to .5 meters.
"Damn...I can't bring myself to hit you yet Dusk...Come on, bring it already!"
Miyamoto would yell as he would move his hand in a taunt.

Looking at the water snake engulf the male he smiled seeing that Miyamoto could withstand the technique from dragging him off. Since the water had no doubt drenched him this would have been the perfect time for another well executed technique but with his knowledge limited on offensive jutsu he knew that eventually this would come down to a test of fists.
Seeing this he shook his head and smiled," I'm not gonna be taken lightly but I think its time we called it quits here. I'm pretty tired and learning that one jutsu look a lot out of me. Maybe we can meet up tomorrow and learn some more together," he would wait for the males answer before picking up his staff and walking from the training grounds to his house.

Re: Learning more about the woods (Miyamoto)

Miyamoto was about to strike when he heard Dusk speak. It was as if he did not care that he was a bout to be struck, so Miyamoto stopped taunting him as he body flickered right in front of him, still drenched in water he would listen to Dusk with earnest. He told Miyamoto it was time to call it quits now, and that he was not to be taken lightly.
"I got you Dusk, and I appreciate everything you have taught me today. Next time we meet I promise you a sparring match the likes that have not yet been seen."
Miyamoto said with a big, toothy grin as he held out his hand to shake Dusk's. After the handshake Miyamoto would turn to walk away still drenched of course as he waved.
"I am going to finish learning the water whip jutsu before I head in..."
He would say as he would use his fire chakra to heat and warm his body to quickly dry off his clothes and himself. Hw would continue walking to another training area, one that would be ranged so that he could work on lashing out with his water chakra. He soon found what he was looking for in a traditional kunai throwing range. He took measure that each of the targets were spaced out starting at two meters then five, then ten meters. Then there was a significant gap as the range split to fifteen and twenty meters. Each of the targets were spaced with two meters in between. It would make for easy work for most kunai throwers or bowmen, but for now Miyamoto had no weapons and only had his fists and his jutsu to rely on. He readied up as he took the horse stance and centered himself with slow, even breaths that way he could focus just on the two meter target first.
"I will not leave till I know that I can hit every target dead center..."
He would say as he would quickly make the hand signs; Rat, Dog, Ox. and he would then focus his water chakra into his hands as he would lash out as if holding an invisible whip. Nothing happened right off the bat as he could not gather enough energy to garner about one meter. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before using the same hand signs once more focusing the water chakra into just his right hand he would then rear back and make a whipping motion as the water condensed in a dark blue, almost purple stream of chakra that lashed out. He was able to hit his target, but he was off center just by a few inches.
"Damn...so close too, but at least I can manifest the energy at this point."
Miyamoto said with a wide grin on his face as he popped his knuckles and tried for a third time. He made the hand signs before lashing out once more with his right hand, this time the whip appeared to transition from an energy to actual water as it moved like a small vortex as it traveled out through the whipping motion. The whip traveled fast, but it was all within his reaction timing as he was aiming for the center of the target. With a loud crack the whip hit it's mark as Miyamoto pulled the whip back he examined it closely. It really was like a condensed water vortex in his hand, the water was a clear crystal blue and came down to a point. This jutsu would prove to be extremely useful if he could master it at range. So he sighed as he moved over to where he could really test his skills. He moved up to the ten meter target as he had to admit, it was almost too much as he looked at the distance. He took his stance once more as the breeze blew through the area, bringing with it the scent of freshly cut grass, the small stream in the woods not to far from where he was, and the dirt around him. He exhaled and opened his eyes, there was almost a thin smoke that came from his body.
He leaned back into his stance and prepared for his attack, aiming for the center of the ten meter target, it was as if it were a symbol of his goals and aspirations. He took a breath, and as he exhaled he made the hand signs once more then reared back as the whip solidified and then he lashed out with his right hand as he willed the whip to extend further, to hit its mark, to learn how to use this jutsu. Miyamoto was sure and steadfast in his resolve as he watched the whip strike out, extending further and further until he heard a loud crack as the whip smacked its target, it was indeed a bullseye as time seemed to just quite literally slow down. Miyamoto knew then that he had learned to use the technique effectively enough to extend its length and strike what he needed at a medium range. He nearly cried, but instead as he canceled the technique he laughed heartily to himself knowing that his goals were attainable...nothing was out of his reach.
"Next step...learning how to control the raging volcano inside, and how to bring out the boiling anger that is inside of me. I can do this..."
Miyamoto then fell flat on his but and then laid down in the dirt there and fell asleep in the sun. letting the warmth of it keep him company as he fell asleep out of exhaustion. Steam rising from his body.
