Ukita's Mission Thread (Private) Empty Ukita's Mission Thread (Private)

Spoiler:

Ukita sat with a bored look plastered across his face. His grandpa had been emphasizing the importance of training for the chuunin exams. Ukita had been put through his paces time and time again. He had done hundreds of push ups, hundreds of sit ups and the worst of all about fifty pull ups. Pull ups were the the worst and his grandpa made him do these work outs without the eight gates, which would have made the task a breeze. Alas, his grandpa seemed to hate the eight gates and did not allow Ukita to practice with them around the house as apparently they made one rely too heavily on one technique. Honestly it annoyed Ukita to no end. Everything could be so much easier if he could just make use of the gates, but noooooo that was against the "rules." Ukita heard his grandpa waking up again from the nap he had just taken-it heralded the start of more training.

Luckily a knock came at the door. Jumping up to at the prospect of avoiding the endless work that was no doubt waiting in the presence of his grandpa. Arriving at the door Ukita opened it with a slow movement. No one was at the door, however a scroll rested on the doorstep. Rather confused Ukita stepped out and looked down the street and could find no one there save for a stray cat. With a slight shrug of his shoulders Ukita stooped down and picked up the scroll and brought it back into the house. Taking a seat at the table Ukita ripped it open and read the contents. In brief it was a mission missive from the Kumogakure mission command center-go figure it must be his lucky day.

A mission meant that Ukita could get out of another set of work outs, which was something that Ukita would love to do. Not giving his grandpa a chance to say no Ukita yelled up to him: "See ya later Grandpa. I got a mission to go do." Ukita did not wait for a response as he dashed out the door. Running the streets Ukita made a beeline for where he was supposed to go for the mission: just outside the village gates in a wasteland desert-like place. The mission consisted of freeing a bunch of endangered animals from the hands of a bunch of poachers. The only catch was that it was suggested that as little force as possible should be used. Ukita already had a plan for that.

Nearing the area indicated by the scroll Ukita became more serious. He activated his three tome sharingan, which brought up a more important subject. He had not told his grandpa about the awakening of the sharingan. Ukita's last name was Obviously not Uchiha, which was odd. As such there was some secret being kept from him that he had yet to figure out exactly. But, deep down he knew the answer without anyone telling him: one of his parents had been an Uchiha. The idea made Ukita shudder. Clearing his mind he saw the camp of the poachers up ahead. Ukita decided to humor the poachers. He deactivated his red eyes and walked into the campsite with a look of horror on his face like he had seen ghost.

In a heartbeat Ukita started his act: "OH!! Help me!!! Please help me!!!! The Raikage is after me." Ukita knew the Raikage's fearsome reputation as a bloodthirsty killer. Naturally the Raikage was not behind him as Ukita had never met the man. However, the bandits would never know that. And hopefully the fear of the very thought of the Raikage coming would send the bandits running. Understandably the bandits freaked. They ran this way and that in a frenzy to get their camp up and out. Ukita meanwhile melted back into the shadows and watched the oddly funny mayhem. In about five minutes the bandits had left and also left the animals where they were-job done.

The animals were an animal called a horse-there were three of them. They looked rather odd, but Ukita did not care. He grabbed the ropes tied around each of the horses necks and led them back to the village. He dropped them off at the mission center with a sigh. There was a creepy old guy who accepted the horses and was supposedly their trainer. He kept calling them "man of war" and "seabiscuit". Ukita found that all rather odd, but it did not matter as he got paid a healthy sum of ryo.

Alas, things were never that easy. As Ukita was on his way home he spotted the bandits he had spooked into giving up their endangered animals. Trying to look inconspicuous Ukita pulled his collar up around his neck, but to no avail. The bandits were looking for him, which as Ukita turned it over in his mind would not be too bad. Maybe he would get to fight today after all. This was after the mission, so it would not really be violating his contract he had. With a smirk on his face Ukita called out to the three men: “Hey long time no see, eh? I thought you guys would have taken to the hills.” The three men did not say a word. Instead they walked towards Ukita with a certain attitude of ill intent. Predictability this made Ukita’s adrenaline pulse through his veins all the faster.

As the men surrounded Ukita pounding their fists together Ukita almost felt fear, but not quite. After all, he had the eight gates to back him up: what could go wrong? Probably nothing. In a heartbeat Ukita had opened all three gates he had control over and turned into a raging whirlwind of pain. He flew from each man to the next. He would punch one in the stomach, one in the gut, one in the chest and then reverse the order. Honestly the men had very little skill, so Ukita left them unconscious in less than three minutes. Shrugging his shoulders Ukita walked over the pile of three men as he made his way home. He had not even broken a sweat. It was at the thought of sweat that Ukita recalled that his grandpa would be rather pissed that he had just run out to go on a mission. It was from that thought that Ukita decided to take the long way home to prolong the peaceful feeling he had.

As he walked down a lantern laden street Ukita felt that he was somewhere else: maybe the spirit world? But, this mirage was broken when the street came to life in a parade. Rather surprised Ukita dashed to the side of the road as the parade passed. The parade consisted of a few shinobi followed by some lavishly dressed women. However, the detail that gave the whole experience a surreal feeling was the falling of cherry blossoms from one of the shinobi’s jutsu-it was truly beautiful. Once the parade passed Ukita moved with feet of lead back to his home. Opening the door Ukita snuck into the house in hopes of sneaking past his grandpa who was no doubt waiting for him. Surprisingly Ukita found that his grandpa was not in his usual seat. Rather worried Ukita looked around the house until at last he heard a loud snoring coming from his grandpa’s room. In an instant it became obvious what had happened: his grandpa had been asleep the whole day. The movement Ukita had heard earlier that morning must have been the neighbors moving around-that was why his grandpa did not respond right away when Ukita yelled up to him about the mission.

With a contented sigh Ukita returned to the kitchen and took a seat. Before his grandpa woke up he would need to work up a sweat, but that would not be for a while. For now Ukita could just chill around the house without fear of having to do one hundred pushups. That time would no doubt come, but for now Ukita grabbed a sandwich that had been lying around and relished every bite he took. It had been a while since he had truly relaxed. At the same time Ukita had the feeling that this would be one of the last times he would get to relax. With the chuunin exams coming up he would have to train and train for days, if not nights, on end. That was something that Ukita did not look forward to in the least, but he knew in the end it would probably turn out for the better. The more training he did the better prepared he would be for the exams-whatever they may hold. That line of thought led Ukita to wonder how he would fare without a team. As Fai had disappeared to parts unknown, which left Ukita without a teammate. Maybe one day he would go in search of Fai, but not today. Today he would be content with having finished a mission and eating a damn good sandwich.

Spoiler:

It was a boring day indeed. Ukita had been dispatched to catch some crook. Apparently they were not too skilled as they left traces around everywhere. It was rather sad in all honesty as Ukita would expect a better thief especially in a village of ninja. Then again he could not complain as it made his job all the easier. Currently he was following some muddy footprints that were found at the scene of the crime. It was not hard to follow them as they were big and clumsy-not too hard to lose track of. Finally after a little while of following them Ukita arrived at a small shack. Kicking the door in Ukita found the man and promptly beat him up and threw him over his shoulder. The man had been rather suckish at fighting and could hardly defend himself as Ukita took him down without a second thought. Finding all the good that had been stolen neatly in a sack Ukita picked it up and threw it over his other shoulder. In an instant he arrived at the mission command and he dropped off both the stolen goods and the thief. It had not been a very hard mission, but hey it was nice to have a few easy missions now and again, so Ukita could not complain. Without ever breaking a sweat he walked home in the afternoon sun. Hopefully his grandfather had made lunch, because he was starving. Last time Ukita had finished a mission his grandfather had made the best shredded pork he had had in his life-hopefully he had concocted something new. Only time would tell if he had made something yummy or if he had made nothing at all. Ukita crossed his fingers for the former rather than the latter as having food was always better than not having food.
