Takazashi “Kaenjin” Uchiha was walking down a road,
wondering exactly when he should start heading home. It didn’t really matter,
though, because at that moment, a passion to take a mission suddenly seized
him. That was odd, random whims didn’t catch him like that out of the blue. Oh
well, he would just have to take a mission. Optimism always made life better,
he found. Why approach something with a negative attitude when a positive one
would do instead? There was just no sense behind a negative attitude UNLESS
there was some sort of extreme exigency. In that case, optimism was not exactly
the most realistic option to follow. As he had concluded, extreme, unrealistic
optimism often led to misfortune. As an Uchiha, that was exactly what he was
trying to avoid. However, now was not a time of extreme exigency, merely
moderate urgency. He dashed over to the mission assignment building, a large,
sturdy affair that showed the good taste of its architect. He went in through
the marvelous glass doors. The only problem that he saw with the building was
that with this kind of skill in architecture, the builder could have done
something else more useful, like a home for a sannin or something. Oh well, it
didn’t matter. Kaenjin walked up the marble stairs, careful not to fall and
crack his skull. When he got to the top, he almost tripped on the 5-inch velvet
carpeting. He tip-toed carefully up to the person at the desk. The mission he
was assigned was a rather banal one, but he decided to take it anyway. Perhaps
it would boost his morale and make his day even brighter. Optimism always got
him through. The mission was not a hard one: merely patrol duty. He went out,
found nothing out of the ordinary, and went home to have dinner.
