Tanbogakure
Village Gates
Starting only at the military district, the village gates are little more than a wooden stockade with a few lookout towers. In the event of a raid, villagers will often seek refuge behind the thin walls. Typically, however, only those on official business are allowed to pass through these gates.

Overlooking a sheer 110-meter drop into Gaikotsu Bay, the multi-tiered village of Tanbogakure is built on a slope that opens up into a vast array of paddy fields at its base. On the first tier, one can find the homely residential district, on the second the austere military district and on the third, overlooking the land to the south and the sea to the north, the imposing Okada castle at its apex. Taken as a whole, the village appears to be a cobbled-together afterthought forced to the northern coast of Rice Country in favor of the vast cash crop that gives the land its name.
